Both me and Azriel froze up, if I had to explain how scary it was, it's as if you stood on the corner of a one hundred fifty floors high skyscraper while looking down and almost losing your consciousness, but at the same time scared to do that so you won't end up dead.

My stomach started aching and I just kept on looking at the red eyes that stared at me, unable to move. I felt something crawling up my leg and then up to my hand and then it grabbed it, I almost shouted at moment but didn't because the lizard still looked our way, and I was too scared to look at what was holding my hand.

As our guys kept yelling at the entrance the lizard lost interest in what was hiding in the crack and decided to go for the bigger prey. We stood there quietly, until we didn't hear any footsteps and then I started crawling out of the narrow crack and something was still holding my hand, as I looked back to see what it is I got even a bigger shock than the one with the huge lizard.

"What the heck man!? Sorry... but I do not swing that way," I drew out my hand out of Azriel's hold. Not that I have something against this type of love, but I'm not interested in it myself, although girls would love me to, some girls are weird. Azriel looked up from the floor and then I understood what happened to him, his pupils were wide and he stood there terrified and was shaking.

"I'm sorry James, I don't know what came onto me.. I just," he didn't finish the sentence and began falling as if his knees didn't hold his weight anymore. I caught Azriel before he crashed on the ground and noticed that he lost consciousness.

I grabbed him on the waist and pulled him over on my right shoulder, thank god he wasn't too heavy , we have to get as far as possible from the black lizard. With my right hand I held Azriel still and with the other I drew a line over the wall with the pink chalk while walking down one of the dark labyrinth corridors.

I walked approximately ten minutes, met some dead ends and had to cross over the pass I drew on the wall and kept on going the other way as Azriel started wriggling over my shoulder.

As soon as I put him down he started waking up, he looked up at me sleepily, and tried to get his vision focused on me.

"Hello there boy, slept well?" I smiled at him, although I was really tired and irritated because I had to walk for so long while carrying him.

Azriel stood up quickly while looking around, "the monster?" he mumbled and looked terrified again. "Oh you mean the big lizard thing? it's way behind, but soon it will reach us, but chill. We are halfway there." I laughed but didn't feel happy at all, I just wanted to make Azriel feel better. "Anyways, get up. We have to find a way, people depend on us." as I said the word 'depend' he looked up at me and agreed to keep going.

"Hallelujah!", Azriel shouted happily as we found the exit of the labyrinth, we stood at a place that looked exactly the same as the other side we came from and also had another hallway ahead. I began walking towards the hallway as Azriel help my hand again, "seriously? again?" I sighted and looked back and he stared at me with his puppy eyes, "those puppy eyes fit a girl but not a guy you know. that's not cute." I said.

"I, I don't like you that way James, I actually have a boyfri- I mean that isn't what I was about to say, you said yourself, that people depend on us," he mumbled while looking anywhere but at me, "we have to get back, and get everyone here as well." He finally looked at me while making puppy eyes. doesn't he understand how dangerous it is to go back? "I know they depend on us, that's why I left a line all over the walls that will lead them here as well. I'm not gonna risk my life for them, and you shouldn't as well." I said coldly and turned to walk away and got pulled back once again.

"please, let's help them, I can't just leave them behind, I was around them for long" he kept on mumbling, and I understood that he wont let me go if I didn't help him. "Fine. I'll help you and your friends, but afterwards I wont stay with your group. I have to find a way out, and I'll do it faster by myself." I said and started going back into the dark labyrinth.

We ran through the labyrinth and it took much faster than before, probably because we already found the right way out, as we kept on reaching the group it became colder and I understood that we got closer to the lizard as well. I looked for a hiding spot, and as I found another crack in the wall I pushed Azriel in there and as I tried to fit in too there wasn't enough space for two.

It's too late, the lizard is getting closer.

"Ill keep him distracted, you have to get away right away and let the other know what happened, Ill get the lizard in one of the dead ends so you'll have to take the chance and get everyone to the other side immediately! don't lose your consciousness again, people depend on YOU now." I said briskly and turned away, not waiting for an answer.

"HEY, big head lizard! get your huge butt here, or are your legs too short to walk faster?", I yelled, I'm not sure what I am even doing now, have I lost my mind? get that lizard to a dead end? that will be my end instead, how can I even defend myself? As the footsteps got closer I could feel the ground tremble with each step it took.

Think, think, what can I do to leave safely as well. I kept on wondering while running farther away into the labyrinth. after I passed a distance that felt like five kilometer, I stopped and leaned against one of the walls and breathed heavily, I didn't feel the chill anymore because I felt hot from the long run, I never liked marathons, and I would probably beat the champions in running as I ran for my life instead of for a hobby.

The footsteps got closer, I reached a dead end. 'I'm done for', there is no way to run anymore. I turned my back to the wall and looked forward and saw the lizard approaching me in the distance, as something slipped out of my pocked and felt on the ground, I picked it up, it was the letter that was in my helmet.

I read it over again and understood momentary how I can get out of this situation, there is hope after all. "Morph!" I shouted and the black iron armor covered my body, I pulled out the sword from behind over my shoulder and stood there, waiting for the lizard to reach me.

'This lizard won't kill me here'.
