"That sounds painful," You commented.

Ultear sat beside you on a park bench,"It is."

You shuddered, "I don't think I want my powers unlocked in that way then."

The time-manipulating mage turned to you with a smile, "Well, when you're really desperate, it becomes something you accept without hesitation."

You gave her a small smile, "Oh."

The two of you sat in silence for a while, just taking in the peaceful scene in front of you. Magnolia Park was rather beautiful.

Ultear let go of a long, heavy sigh.

You glanced over in surprise, "What's wrong?"

Ultear shook her head, "Sometimes, I wonder if we're making any difference at all."

You almost cried. You were pathetic at sounding mature.

How were you supposed to respond to that?

"I'm sure you are," You said finally, "Every action impacts the way our lives work. You've saved thousands of people by now."

You nodded to yourself, "I'm sure of it."

The silence continued and you looked up to see Ultear smile at you with tears in her eyes.

You almost fell off the bench.
