Bonding

"Diamonds." You said, your voice low and tone menacing.

Pantherlily looked at you from the other side of the table you sat at.

His eyes were narrowed into the most serious slits you'd ever seen.

His ears twitched once when his mouth curved into a smile, "Go fish."

You groaned before picking a card from the deck in the centre of the table, "I knew you didn't have it!!"

"Then why did you ask me?" the exceed smirked at you.

"Because," Your brain tried to give you a proper excuse as you added the fifth of spades to the cards spread in your hand, "Because..."

"Because nothing." Pantherlily smiled, "Hearts."

You grumbled before handing a card over to the small cat.

"Thank you," He said not sounding even a little grateful.

You pouted.

"Your turn," He prompted.

You let your finger trace across your cards, wondering what name to call out.

"Lily!!!"

You raised an eyebrow as you looked over your cards at Lily.

Pantherlily sighed, "Hold on."

He let his cards face down on the table before rising to go talk to Gajeel.

You waited for him to get back, fingers drumming on the table.

Glancing over, you saw the exceed's playing cards spread across his side of the table.

One peek would profit you a lot in the game against the smirking cat but you weren't going to do it.

You were going to play fair and square and still beat him.

He would cry while you cackled in the background.

You smiled your evil smile.

Who cared about the stupid cat's pile of cards.

When he got back, you would ask him for Hearts.

Satisfied with your plan, you waited for the exceed to get back.

A gust of wind blew in warning but it was too late to react.

Natsu and Gray flew through the air, hurling attacks at each other.

"Wait!" You screamed, "Na-!!!"

The pink headed dragon slayer straight on top of your table, his fists ablaze, "You're askin' for it, Stripper!!!"

He shot off the table and into the air, knocking all of Pantherlily's cards in the process.

"Na-!!"

A flash of red caught your eye as you watched all of Pantherlily's cards rain down.

Hearts.

Everywhere.

"Oh dear."

You whipped around when you heard Pantherlily behind you.

"This will never do," The exceed began to pick up the cards, "I believe it's safe to say Natsu was here."

You gaped, "Lil-"

"We should probably start all over."

"But-"

"Come now. You've already seen all my cards."

"Bu-"

"You can't possible be truthful in saying this will not influence your game calls now."

"B-"

"Let's reshuffle." He smiled.

You handed over your cards and then began to cry.
