10 Things About Me - MystresMyna

1) Started writing poetry in high school, really bad poetry. But even back then I wanted to have my poetry published. Then life happened and it has taken me 30 years to get back to my passion. My deepest personal dream is to be a published poet.

2) I have an Associates Degree in Accounting, but I really hate accounting. At present I am earning my Bachelors in English with a Minor in Creative Writing.

3) Here are some of my favorites, song - Time In A Bottle by Jim Croce, movie - Now Voyager, color - purple, snack food - chips and dip, video game - Chrono Trigger and World of Warcraft.

4) I believe that video games can and should be used in schools to enhance the learning process in all subjects.

5) I delivered my first child at home by myself.

6) I have homeschooled my two sons, my niece and am now homeschooling my two grandchildren.

7) I enjoy almost any kind of music. However my favorites are 60's to 80's rock, old country/western, metal, 90's indy/alternative and my favorite band is Hanson.

8) My all time favorite book is Bram Stoker's Dracula, but Daphne DuMaurier's Rebecca is a close second. Pablo Neruda is my newest favorite poet.

9) My love for books and literature comes from my mother. When I was young she had a book club. I remember her and her friends discussing all the different books they read, a new one each month for almost 20 years. They were incredible women and their passion for the written word seemed to leech into my very being. Words have power, words have magic, words contain all the beauty and the ugliness of human existence.

10) I was born and raised in the United States but my soul belongs to Scotland.
