Kolbys p.o.v.
Science was... science, nothing boring but nothing that made you jump off your feet. I spent most of the class taking no notes while texting Emma and laughing to loud. When class finally ended, we all packed our bags waiting to be the last ones to leave.

"We hanging out after school bitches?" Chelsea asked while putting on her bag.

"As pleasant as that invitation is I can't today, Zac and I gotta finish our lab reports."

"Mhm" Zac added with his arms folded.

"I would but I gotta help Kolby with an English assignment. Isn't that right Kolby?" Emma said while making eye contact with me.

At that point I didn't know what to say, was this a prank? I didn't know how to respond but I had to think on the spot.

"That is correct" I send while leaning forward.

"You guys suck, now I gotta go out for dinner with my damn step-dad."

We all laughed at the fact Chelsea was in pain.

"Or you could get more friends" Zac said with a sassy attitude while walking out the door.

"Haha very funny" Chelsea said while mocking him.

After that mess happened we all went to our different second classes but I was still shocked. Emma knew damn well I finished my English assignment the first day it was assigned. This had to be my chance, I had to do it, I had to tell Emma my true feelings for her.

Skip to last period

Emma and I walked into class together continuing our conversation we started at lunch. We sat beside each other with the desks put together. Just then Tyler walked in, how perfect. I wanted nothing to do with that kid and neither did Emma, or so I thought.

"Hey Tyler, wanna sit behind us?" Emma asked while pointing to the seat. My eyes went wide and I hit Emma's shoulder.

"Don't mind if I do" Tyler said while hitting me with his bag. The class was suppose to be fun and easy going but it wasn't, I was quiet the entire time while Emma was talking to Tyler. I couldn't believe it did she really just befriend the schools biggest piece of shit?

Whatever I didn't care, nope not at all she can do whatever she wants. I just wanted to go home and watch Netflix.

After school ended

I waved goodbye to Chelsea, Zac and Ethan while they all turned in different directions, except for Zac and Ethan of course.

"Price" Emma said to me.

"You coming?"

Did I wanna go? Yes but I also didn't because of her little discussion with Tyler. Did that stop me? No my legs when running like on Christmas morning.

We walked to the park talking about stupid stuff and school. We went to the swings and swang back and fourth.

"So you and Tyler huh?" I said while taking off my bag.

"Is there a problem with it? Does it bother you at all?" Emma asked while smiling.

You have no idea how badly I wanted to say it bothered me but I couldn't sound desperate, I wanted to warn about what he could do even though she already knew, but I didn't.

"No not at all, you do you" I said while swinging a bit higher.

She nodded then put her bag on the ground as well.

"Remember when you were a kid and you had to swing higher then the person next to you?" She asked while smiling.

"Are you challenging me to a swing off?" I asked while smirking to her.

Before any words could escape her mouth she starting swinging higher, followed by me attempting to catch up to her. We laughed and swang until our heads started hurting.

We grabbed our bags and started walking home with one hand on our head. We laughed at the fact both our heads were hurting but we were stubborn and kept swinging anyways. For the first time in a while, I genuinely felt so happy.

I walked Emma to her door step and said goodbye to her, but something happened, something sparked.

"Emma, I really like you..."

"Awe Kolby, you know I like you to."

I tried hiding it in I really did but I couldn't help but smile and blush.

"There's something I need to know, do you like me or do you love me?"

I loved her I really did but was that a sign she only "liked" me. How do I admit to this, I couldn't. I shyed away, turning my head.

Just them Emma hugged me and I hugged her back, when we separated she did something I never thought would happen. She, Emma Talli kissed me Kolby Price. I felt sparks and fireworks, I was frozen. She hugged me one more time but this time she whispered in my ear,

" I love you too Kolby, but I gotta go."

She walked inside and I ran home, she admitted to loving me! What did she mean though by "I gotta go"? I didn't care, I was so excited for the first time to go to school tomorrow. She would be there, I would be there, we would be there together.

When I get home I through my bag on the floor and ran up to my room. I laid down on my bed and called Emma.

No answer.

"Hey Emma it's me, just wondering how you're doing uh call me back!

I ended the voicemail but called her again right after.

No answer.

"Emma! Hey I just wanna talk to you and see how everything is so call me back!"

I called Emma about three more times and every time I got no answer, I texted her but no answer.

I called her one more time before I went to bed.

No answer.

"Emma... it's me Kolby. Is everything alright...?"
