•Chapter 1• Emma Talli
Kolbys p.o.v.
Her smile is what always got to me, but it also got to everyone else. You know how people say "someone's smile can light up an entire room"? Well I never believed that till I met her, Emma Talli.
It wasn't just her smile though, it was her laugh, her personality, her eyes, it was everything about her. As much as I wish I could say I was the only guy at RidgeMont High who fell for her, it was everyone. She wasn't like most girls either, she would play in sports and not be afraid to get dirty, she would become friends with anyone who crossed her path, she was the definition of perfect.
Luckily for me I was one of the people who she befriended, along with my other buddies but we'll talk about them later. She lived about ten minutes from me which was convenient enough, I would text her as much as I could and always got a reply in five seconds. Her brown hair that was always straight, her brown eyes that sparkled everywhere she walked, it was a sight you could look at forever plus a day.
Unfortunately though, there will always be jerks at RidgeMont, the ones who wanna take advantage of her, who would use her for a few days. Everyday I wanted to say something but could never bring myself too do so, leaving me too always back away. I considered myself lucky though, we had a close bond, one I thought could never break. I didn't consider Emma a friend not even a best friend, she was my family.
Although Emma smiled everyday, there were also tears. Emma's dad died when she was four so her mom worked double shifts six nights a week which meant she barely saw her own family. She's an only child and with that her cousins, aunts, etc. live miles away so when people brought it up she would hold in her tears till she got home.
Every night I wanted to text her to make sure she was okay, that if she needed me, I'd go over but no, I never asked instead I let her cry, I let her think she was alone when really, she wasn't. She had the jocks tease her and lift up her skirt followed by a high five from one to another.
It bugged Emma and I could tell but she wouldn't let them get the satisfaction of knowing that.
In case you didn't get the memo Emma Talli was the light to my darkness. It was Emma who made me feel again. She gave me emotions I never knew I had in me. She made me feel better about myself, she made everyone feel better about them selfs. She had everyone head over heels for her without even trying. She was athletic, smart, kind, beautiful and I could go on but you get the idea.
If only I was able to tell her all this when she was still alive.
A/N: Sorry this chapter is a little short it's kind of a introduction to what's going to be happening in the future. If you liked it hit that little star and I'll see you in the next chapter :)
