[In The Genie World]

The genie world looked quite different from the human's world. It seemed like a mix of heaven with our society. The ground were like clouds, yet it was as hard as the earth. The buildings' architecture seemed somewhat old. I couldn't exactly tell what style it was, but it was definitely pretty. Though I was now intrigued by this place, I didn't really have time to pay a visit. I had to find Hoshi and convince whoever was keeping him here that he wasn't at fault.

I looked around the genie town. I had appeared in a somewhat crowded place. I guess they could sense I wasn't from here though, because they gradually stopped what they were doing to look at me. It must have been a first, a human in the genie world. I could hear some of the whispers around me.

"A human?"

"What is she doing here?"

"How did she come here?"

This wouldn't do. I had no idea where Hoshi was, but maybe someone here did.

"Does anyone know where Hoshi is by any chance?" I forced my voice to be loud. I looked around the crowd for anyone having a particular reaction. Some of them where looking at each other, as if asking themselves who he was.

"You!" someone called. I look to where the sound came from. It was none other than Aecha.

"Aecha! Do you know where Hoshi is?" I asked as I got closer to her.

"Thanks to you he's in prison!" she replied.

Thanks to me..? What does she mean?

"Okay, umm, where is that?" I decided not to pay much attention to what she had said and focus on saving Hoshi.

"Why would I tell you?!"

"Look, Hoshi could be in danger, I need you to tell me where the prison is," I tried to convince her. She thought during a second.

"Fine, but it's for Hoshi, not for you."

"I know."

Aecha gave me the directions to the prison, and I left right after. Arrived at the described building, I took notice of the two guards at the front, but decided to try my luck anyway.

The two blocked me in an instant. Right, my luck isn't with me...

"Identify yourself," one of them demanded.

"I'm (Y/N). I'd like to see Hoshi."

"No humans can enter this place," the other one said. I was still confused as to how everyone knew I was a human.

"Okay, umm, I'll ask this once because I don't really have time to joke around here. Let me in please?"

After they refused once more, I tried to force my way in by pushing through them. My efforts were unsuccessful. They ended up bringing me to the 'palace' where apparently the god of genies was.

The guards released their grips on my arms as we entered the throne room. That's how I'll call it because of this big throne in the middle of the room. The god of genies was in fact sitting on it. He had looked up when the doors opened. His dark eyes stared into mine. It was as if he could read me. Like everyone else, he somehow knew.

"What's an human doing in our world?" He straightened his back as he asked.

"I'd like to see Hoshi, but those two won't let me." I pointed my thumbs at the two guards standing just half a meter behind me now.

"You can't simply go in the prison to see someone. Why do you want to see him?" His voice was authoritative and clear.

"Well apparently he's stuck here, so my goal is to free him."

"You don't even know what he did, do you?"

"Well, huh, no." He laughed, almost ironically.

"He kissed you. That's what he did."

"I don't understand how that's a problem," I shot back.

"Genies have a code to respect. One of the rules in it mentions that it is forbidden to kiss a human. He breaks a rule, he gets the punishment for it."

"That rule is ridiculous. What's even the big deal with a kiss?!"

"Genies must not fall in love with humans. Kisses are the first part to it no? Falling in love with them means being too attached and making the goodbyes difficult. You know his time with you his limited right? If a genie and a human fall in love, when the genie's year ends, the human's heart will be broken. Our mission is to bring luck, not to create despair. What even is the use of a relationship between them, if they can't stay together?"

"He should be able to decide for himself. That's totally unfair."

"Unfortunately, you are not the one who chooses the rules," he replied.

"It's his only fault isn't it? Can't you let him be?"

"See what I mean? You are overly attached to him when you are not supposed to." He shook his head as he sighed.

"That's not even because of the kiss. It's not that I'm in love with him, it's because he's my friend. Are you going to make a rule to forbid genies to have friends too?" I really couldn't accept all this.

"I wouldn't go that far-"

"Then let him go," I didn't let him the time to finish whatever he was going to say.

"No, (Y/N)."

"Then I'll get him myself," I said and walked off.

I left so fast that the guards were actually following from behind me. I ran off before they could get to me, this was my chance.

When I arrived at the prison, I quickly smashed the door opened and ran in.

The building contained a lot of cells, they had a glass wall so we could see the one inside. Most of them were empty though. I ran the hallway trying to find which had Hoshi, while hearing the guard's footsteps behind me. I had to find him, quick.

I finally stumbled over where he was after a couple turns. He was sitting down, but immediately stood up when he saw me. Surprised filled his eyes. He went to the glass wall, putting his hands on it. I put my hands where his were.

"(Y/N), what are you doing here?!"

"I came to save you, actually," I replied while often giving some quick glances at the end of the hallway to see if they were here yet.

The guards appeared a second after. I didn't know what to do. They were coming at me, but I couldn't leave. Hoshi was right there! They were going to grab me, when they suddenly were knocked off to the ground.

"I hate you guys," Woozi said standing there with a guitar in hand.

"How do we open this stupid thing?" I asked, referring to the cell.

"I don't know, I'll just break the glass," Woozi replied.

"Step back Hoshi," he then said.

Using his guitar, he hit the glass wall harshly, breaking both of the objects at the same time.

"Now I really hate you guys," Woozi said, as he saw the upper and lower part of his guitar in two different pieces.

We ran out the prison, to see the original genie standing just in front of the exit looking quite annoyed. Just when I thought we were caught, the genie talked.

"I thought about what you said, and I will give him a chance. Just stop breaking my prison will you?" he said.

"Seriously?" I couldn't believe he was letting us of after everything that had already happened.

"Yes, you shall go back to your world now," he said.

"Okay, but promise me you won't keep Hoshi here, and that he'll be there tomorrow."

"It is a promise," he replied. The god of genie used a wish to send me home. I appeared in my bedroom, tired from all the events.

What an adventure.
