"A mansion, a beach house, an island, win the lottery, meet this or this celebrity... there is so much things you could ask for, and yet you're asking me to check if your house is haunted because you just watched an horror movie," Hoshi said.

"I absolutely cannot ask for such big things, my parents would think I stole money. Plus, I really didn't just hear a door close on it's own," I replied sarcastically while rolling my eyes.

"Oh god of genies, why did you have to pair me up with this human?" he asked looking up at the stormy sky through the window of my bedroom.

"Oh god of humans, why did you have to pair me up with this genie?" I imitated him, rolling my eyes once more. He sighed in annoyance.

"Dude, just go check if there is a ghost or something in the house," I repeated my request. It was very stormy outside, lightnings were heard every few minutes. I jumped as I heard an other door close on it's own in the house.

"Fine," he said and left the room.

My bedroom was dark and quiet; the power had went off due to the storm. I was using my cellphone as a flashlight, but it's battery was about to die... only adding up to my stress.

The darkness made me imagine scary scenes in my head. I would imagine a killer coming out of my closet, a knife in hand... Why the hell did I decide to watch this movie? It was an horror movie, which I hadn't been able to finish without the wifi. Not knowing if there was an happy end to it just scared me even more. What if the killer won and the character dies? What if the movie was happening to me right now? The killer is gonna come out of the closet and kill me...

"Sh*t I'm gonna die," I murmured to myself as I shivered and pulled up the blanket. I was sitting on my bed, wrapped in covers as if trying to keep me safe.

[Hoshi's POV]

I slowly walked through her house. I didn't believe in ghosts, but I must admit the weather and the darkness was making the situation ten times more creepy than it actually was. I found myself shivering soon after entering the living room. It was strangely cold compared to the other rooms I had been in while doing (y/n)'s house check. I looked around the room, trying to see in the dark. Was the air conditioner on or something?

My eyes wandered from the objects on the ground to the wall and then to the window. Oh, that was it. The window had been left open. The wind blew in harshly as I went to close it. No wonder the doors were closing on their own... I quickly went back to (y/n)'s bedroom. Being with her made me feel more safe than alone in the dark...

I entered her room and closed the door behind me. She peeked her head out of the covers cutely. She was surely scared. She looked at me, an hint of curiosity and fear in her eyes.

"So? There's a ghost right?"

"Nope, a window was left open that's all," I told her and she sighed in relief. I went to sit on the edge of her bed. I couldn't help but smile at how cute she actually was.

We jumped at the sound of the thunder, and she grabbed my hand unconsciously. I could feel my cheeks heating up at the sudden skinship. Nevertheless I didn't try to let go of her hand.

"I-I should go back now," I whispered, not really knowing what to do. I looked into her eyes shyly.

"No way, not yet! Are you leaving me to die alone in the house? My parents are already sleeping... wait they might already be dead by now!" I chuckled at her silliness.

"Fine, I'll stay with you until you fall asleep, you idiot," I said.

"I'm not an idiot, you are."

She layed down and pulled the covers up to her neck.

"Can't you lay down as well? It's embarrassing if you just watch me sleep..." she whispered. I nodded and laid next to her on top of the covers. We stayed silent during a while before she spoke :

"Hey, thanks by the way...sometimes I feel like you're a friend before a genie."

I smiled though she couldn't see it in the dark.

"We're friends, so it's normal. Now go to sleep alright?" I replied.

"Good night," she murmured.

After a while her quiet respiration and mine could only be heard. Outside, it had stopped raining. She moved to her side, facing me. She was sleeping though. I smiled as I caressed her soft hair gently. My eyes wandered from her closed eyes to her lips. I gulped.

I carefully stood up from the bed and glanced once more at her before disappearing to my world.
