[A month later]

"Naega Hosh!" that genie appeared in my room. I rolled my eyes at his introduction as I turned around to face him. He was smiling happily at me. Even with this distracting smile, I couldn't help but notice he had a shirt the same colour as my binder. It would be the beginning of the school year soon, and I really did not need any reminder.

"Hello Hoshi," I simply said and turned back towards my school material. Laying on my desk were printed stickers. Some with my name and some with the school subjects. Next to these were also my binders, notebooks and pens. When younger, I was good at loosing my school supplies, somehow, throughout the year. Ever since she had taken a notice onto it, my mom had always wanted me to have my name on them.

"What are you doing?" he asked, leaning above my shoulder to get a better look at my current activities.

"I'm preparing my school material. I went to buy them with my mom yesterday," I told him.

"Already? Is school starting soon?" he asked.

"Yes, actually, it's starting again in two days."

"Mmmh I see. In the genie world we don't have summer vacancies. I'm always confused as to when the humans start their school year," he said. He examined my bedroom during a second before his eyes landed on my bed. The next thing I knew, he was laying down on it and was even yawning.

Hoshi was too used being here.

"About that, since I'll be in school in just a few days, can you change the time you appear? I'll be in class at 10:10..." I told him. He lifted his head up a bit as I said it. He shook his head shortly after.

"Nope, 10:10 is my assigned time, every genie as a different one. We can't change our time."

"So there's someone who is 10:11?"

"Yep." Inodded understandingly.

"Then, can I write my wish instead of saying it?" He sat up.

"Yes, but you should write a key word with your request so I don't mistake something else for your wish."

"True. What do you suggest?"

"Hoshi is love?" A cheeky grin grew on his face. He did the fourth part of gwiyomi, overly prentending to be cute.

"Never in your dream."

"How about my genie♡." He made an heart with his hands. I shook my head in disagreement.

"Dude stop," I said.

"I'll just write that genie," I added.

"With an heart?"

"No way."

"Pleassseeee," he teased me some more before laughing.

I walked over to him and hit him lightly on the head before going back to prepare my school material.

"Hey, if I was two-year-old and you were my genie, I wouldn't be able to make a wish. Would you disappear?" I started quizzing him randomly about his genie world.

"That isn't possible, you can only get a genie between 15 and 40 years old."

"How come nobody has ever talked about their genie before though?"

"After this year you'll forget everything about me. One of us has to forget the other since the luck cannot be used during more than a year for humans. It is directly me who remembers as I will be continuing my job as a genie. If I were the one to forget, I would forget everything about the genie world and you... which is basically me forgetting my whole life."

I nodded, thinking over what he had just said.

This year would be my last one passed studying, afterwards I will be entering the world of adults. The sad part of it was that Hoshi would be leaving me at the same moment. He was one of my closest friends by this time of the year.

Not really knowing what to say, my eyes wandered back to my supplies for school. I sighed.

"I wish this would all be done already," I said, more to myself. Hoshi smirked.

"Say no more."

[Two days later]

Today was the worst day of the year— the beginning of school. Uniform on and backpack on my back, I was slowly making my way to school. All motivation had left me long ago.

Arrived at my new classroom, I entered and looked around. I immediately noticed Wonwoo and Hyemi talking.

"Hey guys," I said walking up to them and joining their conversation.

"Hello! Back at school..." Hyemi said and sighed at the end of her sentence.

"I already miss summer vacation," Wonwoo added.

"Same," I said.

The school year would always start by choosing the places for the semester. We did it by putting papers with numbers corresponding to the places in a box. We then drew a school diagram on the board and put the numbers in order. Afterwards we would all pick one of the paper and the number was corresponding to our seat.

My turn to pick came. The number I had was 10. Why does this make me think of Hoshi?

Wonwoo was 13 while Hyemi was 17. The two were sitting in diagonal. 10 was not the last place on the window side, but the one just before. It wasn't that bad of a place, but they were so close I felt a bit on the side in our trio.

Slowly, the time passed by and 10:10 came. I didn't even have to look at the clock anymore, Hoshi's appearance made it obvious what time it was.

I smiled at him and silently took a corner of my notebook to write down a greeting.

'Hello Hoshi'

"Hello~" he told me.

[Hoshi's POV]

'This class is so boring... even more than genie Mingyu's class,' I thought.

Not able to focus on her lesson any more, my eyes wandered over to (Y/N). I noticed she was staring at something, or someone? I followed her gaze and understood she was staring at Wonwoo who himself was staring at her best friend.

This guy, breaking my human's heart.

'I need to change her mind or she'll be sad,' I thought.

I walked up to the front of the class and stood next to the teacher. (Y/N) started looking at me her eyes widely opened as if asking me what I was doing.  I started doing funny face and playing and after a while, my mission succeeding, she laughed. I was relieved, if she laughed than it means she is happy. No?

[(Y/N)'s POV]

"Is there something funny ms(Y/N)?" the teacher asked me.

The whole class's attention was now on me and I felt embarrassed from the stares. Some guy close to me whispered 'She's so dumb' to his friend. Was I already making a bad impression? It was only the first day of school... how could such thing end up happening?

"Nothing, sorry," I said and she continued her class. I glared at Hoshi, frustrated from the embarrassment.

When the bell for lunch time rang, I ran up the stairs all the way to the rooftop, Hoshi following me. I turned to face him.

"What do you think you were doing?" I asked.

"I just wanted to make you laugh."

"Why? You want to embarrass me that bad?"

"No, it's just that I didn't want you to be sad over that Wonwoo," he said and looked down.

Sad over Wonwoo... yes I was. I was happy for them, but couldn't help but be sad. I liked him, of course it hurt me seeing the two together.

"Why are you even caring? This is none of your business..." I looked down myself, now more nervous than angry. I felt my emotion slowly starting to take on upon me, and I felt like I could cry any moment soon.

"Sorry," he murmured looking up from the ground.

"Please just leave for now," I said.

"I can't until you tell me your daily wish," he replied.

"Alright... just, I don't know, make this day pass fastly..."

"Okay."
