𝟑𝟖' 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐩 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬

Davina and Kaleb are performing a spell involving a small cauldron full of a potion and a large straw poppet. The two chant together as they dip the poppet into the contents of the cauldron.

"It's finished. But, I'm afraid it's not enough to protect Cami's body from Esther's magic." Davina said. "I might know a way to distract you from your troubled mind?" Kaleb grinned.

Davina laughed just as Marcel, Wanda, and Kol joined them. "You can take this seriously, or I can lock you in a coffin like your friend Finn, if you prefer." Marcel threatened.

"First, he's far from my friend. Second, I'd prefer you to bugger off, because this spell needs time to cook in peace." Kaleb said to the vampire, Kol laughed and patted Marcel on the back.

"Cami doesn't have time. Esther can jump anybody into her body right now." Marcel stressed, Wanda walked over to Davina.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, but she's not going to jump anybody. She's going to jump Rebekah, who just happens to be miles away. But, fair dues, Marcel, I think I'd be a bit testy, too, if my old ex was about to jump into my new ex. I think that would be a bit, uh..." Kol started.

Cami suddenly joins them, "Awkward?" she said, Kol shrugged "I was going to say kinky, but..." The Original said. Marcel, angry, vamp-speeds toward Kol and grabs him by the collar of his shirt, Wanda sent her magic towards Marcel's hand twisting it enough for it to snap.

Marcel cradled his broken wrist and glared at Wanda, "Don't touch him." she stated as she felt her eyes glow red making Marcel slightly coward back. She hadn't even noticed her hand conjuring up a red energy ball.

Kol was by her side in a second, "Calm down, my love." he said lightly placing his hand on her arm. Wanda felt her magic retract, she sighed and glared at Marcel. "Sometimes it's hard thanks to certain people." she said.

"He's helping Marcel." Cami intervened also slightly nervous since Wanda looked intimidating. Marcel glared at him before he and Cami left, leaving Wanda, Kaleb, Kol, and Davina in the room.

Wanda felt the voices that plagued her mind rise, which meant she was becoming unsteady. "I'm going for a walk." she announced then left before Kol could tell her anything.

"Is she okay?" Davina asked, "I don't know." Kol sighed.

"Well, since it's just us three. Maybe we could figure out the plan, oh yeah like that diamond we need Kol." Kaleb said.

"Yes well. The one that we need to do the dagger spell, well, that has to be a lot bigger. A hundred years ago, I had it in my hand, and Marcel ratted me out to Klaus and they took it. He probably bloody well kept it." Kol told them.

"Then, let's steal it back. It's a good chance to snoop!" Davina smiled, Kaleb nodded in agreement.

"Then let's get looking, but Kaleb" Kol said, the young witch looked at him "I need a favor."

Kol, Kaleb, and Davina search through the compound. While they dig around in dressers in one of the bedrooms, Davina finds an old framed photograph of Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, Kol and Marcel from 1914 in the bottom of a drawer.

"This is you?" Davina and Kaleb asked, Kol turned and examined the photo. "Mhm, I was better looking back then." the Original grinned. "Keep telling yourself that." Kaleb laughed.

"I'm showing Wanda." Davina said as she chuckled. Marcel suddenly called for Kol and Kaleb.

The two went to the courtyard where Marcel was.

Marcel explained the plan to help Klaus and how they needed Kol's and Kaleb's cooperation. "I'd be happy to help!" Kol said. "If I must." Kaleb told the vampire.

"In exchange for what? From all the sneaking around today, you two are clearly in need of something." Marcel said. "If you want us to find a new body for Rebekah, I want the Folean diamond you stole from me back in 1914." Kol said.

"And what do you plan to do with it?" Marcel laughed. "Does it matter?" Kaleb asked.

"Well, it would matter to Klaus." the vampire said. Kol smirked "You see, I could fib here, but I want to be on the up about it. I need a weapon I can use to protect myself against Klaus, and the diamond helps me make it." Marcel looks at him suspiciously "It's not to kill him, it's simply a matter of self-defense. Only to be used out of absolute necessity." Marcel nods in understanding as he considers this offer "It's a fair trade, Marcel. We get free of my whackadoodle mum, I acquire the means by which to defend myself against a volatile brother, should the need arise." Kol told him.

"And, uh, if all goes well, perhaps you'll let me near Davina without bodily harm." Kaleb said making Kol hold back a laugh. "Should I call him back or should you?" the Mikaelson asked.

Kol and Kaleb returned to the compound where Wanda, Davina, and Marcel are. "Done! As per your request. Miss Angelica Barker. Good cheekbones and a tummy you can bounce a quarter off! She will be Rebekah's new host body, instead of Cami." Kol announced rather happily.

Wanda furrowed her brows, "Who's Angelica Barker?" she asked, Cami suddenly joined them. "One of my vampire potentials. Had to turn her down. She was too lost." Marcel answered.

"Does she know what's about to happen to her?" Cami nervously asked. "It's better when they don't know." Kaleb replied to her.

"Hopefully, we won't have to use her." Marcel sighed, "Hopefully. But, then, my mother is a wiley and vindictive woman. Which is why I've got to ask something else of you." Kol said.

"You're already getting the diamond." Marcel said making Wanda look at Kol in confusion, "Which I'm thrilled about. But, in order for Kaleb to help you, I need access to my mother's hourglass... which is in the lycée. With my mother." Kol said avoiding Wanda's eyes.

"And?" Marcel asked, "Well I can't very well waltz in there like nothing, and she wouldn't suspect Kaleb if he brought back the thing that he was sent to find." Kol said for the witch.

"And that thing is...?" Marcel said, "The white oak stake." Kaleb told him. "Are you out of your mind?" Marcel almost growled, Wanda's eyes widened as well.

"Kaleb!" Davina shouted clearly not pleased. "Look, it's the only way she's gonna trust me! She doesn't want to kill them, she just wants to make sure that the weapon doesn't fall into the wrong hands. I swear, as soon as she's gone, I'll give it right back to Klaus." Kaleb told them.

"Like hell you will. Deal's off." Marcel snapped, just as Kol was about to argue Klaus appeared.

"Kol! Whatever grudges you hold against me, we're doing this for the good of our family. Do I have your word that, for once, you will honor that?" the hybrid asked Kol.

Kaleb looks at Kol, "You have my word, Nik. Swear on the face of us all." the Original promised.

Klaus weakly smiled at his brother, "I'll get the stake."

Davina is spreading salt, sand, and herbs around an hourglass on the table in the courtyard to prepare for their spell. Kol, Marcel, and Wanda watch.

Davina turns the hourglass, "Kaleb will link this hourglass to Esther's. Ours will mirror hers."

"When the last sand falls, Esther will try to jump her into you." Kol told Cami, "That's when I'll redirect the spell from you to Esther. It's meant to jam the signal just long enough to keep that kind of magic from working against anyone." Davina said.

"If it works." Cami anxiously said.

"It'll work! When Rebekah attacks, Esther won't be able to jump her into you, or herself anywhere else." Marcel assured her.

"And we're sure Kaleb is on board?" Cami asked, Kol nodded in confirmation "He is."

"If him and Kol are on the same side we have no problem. Kol may be a thief and a liar, but, like Elijah, he doesn't give his word lightly." Marcel said. "Gee, thanks mate." Kol said to the vampire.

Cami continued looking anxious.

The hourglass on the table in the courtyard starts to pour after Kaleb casts his spell on Esther's own hourglass. Davina, Wanda, Kol, Marcel, and Cami are all watching it intently.

"It's working." Davina smiled.

The rest of the sand leaves the hourglass, "Now!" Kol shouted. Davina closes her eyes and begins to chant. Suddenly, Cami starts to seize, and Marcel rushes over to her to catch her before she falls.

Wanda and Kol watch them. "Did it work?" Marcel asked. "I have no idea." Davina replied.

They laid Cami on the armchair in the courtyard. Klaus came back with Rebekah in his arms, Wanda quickly walked over to him to help.

"Cami's not awake yet, either." Davina said to him. Marcel rushes into the room, "When she's up, we gotta get her out of the Quarter. She's not safe here. Someone busted Finn out!" he yelled.

"My mother is using Mikael to do her dirty work, now." Klaus sighed, "Of course she bloody is." Kol muttered as he ran his hand through his hair.

Suddenly, Cami awakens with a gasp, and everyone turns to her in concern. She looks around and takes in her surroundings "I suddenly love that stupid name!"

Davina laughs in relief and hugs her. Klaus and Marcel both smile weakly, and turn to check on Rebekah, who is still unconscious. Marcel sits down next to Rebekah and caresses her face with his hand. Wanda looked at Kol who had an unreadable expression.

"I couldn't stop the spell." Klaus said as he realized, Klaus takes off. Marcel, scared, shouts after him, "Please tell me that your mother's dead!"

Klaus turns back toward him, "Rebekah and I took extra precautions. Esther is exactly where she needs to be."

Kaleb returns later with the white oak stake, he hands it to Kol. Klaus and Marcel looked at the two as Davina smiled at Kaleb. "A promise is a promise." Kol said handing the stake back to Klaus. The hybrid sighed in relief.

The two leave the room, "What happened?" Davina asked, "I think it's best for Kaleb to explain." Kol grinned. Kaleb rolled his eyes as he and Davina left.

Wanda walked into the room, "Where's Rebekah?" she questioned. "No hello?" Kol joked but Wanda held an unamused expression. "She's perfectly safe, I wouldn't hurt her." the Original told her.

"You didn't prepare Angelica Barker for her... did you?" Wanda said now realizing. "It always did scare me how well you knew me." Kol smiled.

"Where is she, Kol?" Wanda asked again. "In a prison made by Nik himself." The Mikaelson casually said. "Kol!" Wanda said again.

"She's fine! I'm just returning the favor she did for me in 1914." Kol said. Wanda caught sight of the diamond in his hands, "What's the deal with that." she asked.

Kol looked at the diamond and smiled, "Something Nik stole from me years ago, now it has finally been returned." Was all he said. "What's it for?" Wanda questioned.

"To make a beautiful necklace." Kol teased. "Kol."

"Again, don't worry about it." the vampire said, he trusted her with everything he had and held, but he was unsure of how she would react if she found out. So though it was best to just not tell her.

Wanda scoffed, "Seems like I have nothing to worry about anymore! Right?" she said getting angry he wasn't trusting her.

"Do you trust me?" Kol asked her, he had expected her to say 'always' like she would constantly... but instead she stayed silent.

Wanda did trust him, of course she did. But she wanted an answer.

Kol felt a pang of hurt go through him.

He sighed and just... left.
