13' Sinners and Saints

Klaus is pacing back and forth in the kitchen of Rousseau's. "We had a deal! You protect my unborn child, I dismantle Marcel's army. And whilst I've been busy fulfilling my part of the bargain, you allowed Hayley to be attacked and almost killed by a gaggle of lunatic witches." He angrily said.

"I had nothing to do with it, I swear. Hayley and I are linked, remember? She dies, I die." Sophie stated. Wanda wanted to roll her eyes at the witch.

"Then who were they?" Rebekah questioned Sophie. "They are a faction of extremists. Sabine stupidly told them about some vision she had of the baby." Sophie answered.

"What vision?" Wanda asked. "She has them all the time. They are totally open to interpretation. I'm guessing she's wrong on this one." Sophie told them.

Klaus grew impatient "Well, how, may I ask, was this particular vision interpreted?" He asked.

"Pretty much that your baby would bring death to all the witches." Sophie revealed.

"Ah, well. I grow fonder of this child by the second." Klaus announced. Wanda snickered.

"Sophie, look, I promised Elijah that I would protect the Mikaelson miracle baby whilst he tries to win your witch Davina's loyalty. Why don't you tell me just how extreme this faction is?" Rebekah told the witch.

"Elijah's talking to Davina?" Sophie asked. "Yeah, as we speak, I imagine." the blonde responded.

"I'm guessing she'll have a lot to say about that crowd." the Deveraux witch said. Klaus was suddenly intrigued "Do tell"

"I... wasn't always an advocate for the witches." she started, "My sister was devoted, like our parents, and our upbringing was very strict, which drove me nuts. The minute I turned 21, I left the Quarter to travel... and play. But, I wanted to be a chef, so I came back to Rousseau's."

"My sister came to find me one day, she told me the witches were going through with the harvest." Sophie added.

"What the bloody hell is a Harvest?" Rebekah asked. "It's a ritual our coven does every three centuries, so that the bond to our ancestral magic is restored. We appease our ancestors, they keep our ancestral power flowing." the witch explained.

"And why haven't I heard of this?" Klaus asked making Wanda roll her eyes, like he has to know everything.

"Because a Harvest always seemed like a myth. A story, passed on through generations like Noah's ark, or the Buddha walking on water. The kind some people take literally, and some people don't."  Sophie said.

"They had the girls of our community preparing for months. Four would be choosen for the Harvest. They said that it was an honor, that they were special. I thought it was a myth." The witch explained.

Wanda took a step forward, "Was it?" she asked the witch. Sophie looks guilty but before she could say anything, Klaus's phone rang.

"Marcel, bit early in the day for you, isn't it?" Klaus said into the phone, Wanda and Rebekah snapped their attention to Klaus.

"I know, I make this look easy, but I still have an empire to run."

"Rather you than me. All that responsibility seems like such a bore."

"Well, this might spice things up. I just heard about a bunch of dead witches out in the bayou. The kinda damage a werewolf might do, only there was no full moon. I have an informant out there I need to meet and I would love for you to go with me."

"Dead witches in the bayou. Sounds like less of a problem, and more like a cause for celebration."

"Well, something killed them. And may still be out there. And with your blood the only cure for a werewolf bite, I would love for you to accompany me."

"Oh, why not? Haven't been to the bayou in ages. I'm on my way."

"You can't go out there now. I need to gather the witches' remains and consecrate them. If I don't get to them before sundown, we'll lose the link to their magic." Sophie said as she paced the Mikealson mansion.

Wanda wanted to state the many reasons she would leave those witches out there to rot, Kol sensed Wanda getting angry so made his way to her side slipping his hand into hers.

Wanda sighed and kept her mouth shut, leaning into Kol's side, Klaus started "Those witches tried to kill Hayley. I'd prefer for Marcel's informant not to find anything that would lead him back to us, to her, or to... you know," Klaus pointed to Hayley's stomach "that." Hayley rolled her eyes "You are all class."

He points to Sophie "Stay put. And save the rest of your story 'til I return." he said as he walked out.

Wanda saw Sophie walk out the house and Hayley followed after her, Wanda looked at Rebekah and they gave each other a knowing look. Rebekah walked out the house waiting for Wanda outside.

She looked up at Kol who was still holding her hand, "I'll be back soon" she said but Kol tightened his grip on her hand, "No, those witch's almost killed you Wanda." Kol argued not wanting to let her go.

"I need to go, Kol. Hayley's out there." Wanda said, "I don't care about Hayley, I don't want you getting hurt." he tried to reason with her but it was no use. "I'll be on guard this time, but I have to go." Wanda told him.

"Fine, then I'll go too." he stated, "No, if Marcel finds out you're here too, it'll complicate things Kol, I need you to trust me." Wanda calmly told him.

"I don't give a damn about Marce-" Wanda grabbed his face and looked into his eyes, "Do you trust me?" she asked him.

"Always" Kol breathed "Then trust me when I say I'll come back" she said, Kol felt beaten. "Fine, but if you don't I'll go on a rampage in New Orleans I don't care about who sees me." he tells her.

Wanda smiles at him, she let's him go and walks out to where Rebekah was waiting for her.

Wanda saw a sly smirk on her face, damn vampire hearing. "Not a word." she stated walking past her. Rebekah laughed.

Rebekah and Wanda walk into the mausolem, "Could you two be more idiotic." the blonde said to Hayley and Sophie.

"Two can play the follow-game, you know!" Rebekah started, "You heard Klaus, he and Marcel are headed right where you're going." Wanda finished.

"So distract them. Because unless you wanna see lock a hormonal, pregnant werewolf in a tomb, I'm coming with you. And wouldn't Elijah be mad if he hears that the baby and I died of asphyxiation?" Hayley says.

Wanda and Rebekah look at each other and give an annoyed stare at the werewolf. Looks like Wanda and Rebekah were tagging along.

Rebekah phoned Klaus as they walked, "What's the matter Rebekah? You cross that I'm hanging out with your Ex?" Klaus said into the phone.

"What is all that dreadful hillbilly ruckus in the background?"

"According to the dreadful signage, it's Big Auggie's Bayou Bar."

"Well, order up a few rounds of moonshine and steer clear of the dead witches for a few. The witch is on a burial mission, your baby mama is on a spirit quest, and I'm keeping Elijah's promise to keep her safe while taking Wanda along, so stall, please?" Then Rebekah hung up on him.

The four girls kept walking around the Bayou when they heard a twig snap. Rebekah and Wanda started looking around, Wanda sees a vampire approach.

"What the hell? An Original?" He was going to vamp away but Wanda stopped him using her powers.

Wanda walked up to him, the three girls following her, she walked up to him. Wanda raised her hand that had thin red energy webs surrounding them and looked into the males mind.

Hayley watched in awe at her magic while Sophie was confused at how Wanda could do such a thing.

Wanda let the vampire go and he vamped away, "What did you do to him?" Rebekah asked the redhead. "Let's just say it's like he never saw us." Wanda said, Rebekah smirked at the girl.

"I'm gonna call Nik and tell him to stall better." Rebekah said, she walked away from the girls and phoned her brother.

Sophie was still confused, "How can you do that?" she asked Wanda, "My powers don't come from here." was all she responded not trusting the witch enough.

Rebekah came back, "I'm going to go to the bar my brothers at, Wanda stay with Hayley and Sophie and make sure they don't do anything stupid." she told her friend.

Wanda nodded and watched Rebekah speed away. The three girls walked around the Bayou till nightfall then made their way back to Sophie's truck.

"Those people, all this, because of a vision about my baby you don't think is true?" Hayley asked Sophie, "Look, I love Sabine, but she's the witch equivalent of a drama queen. I've learned to take little stock in whatever she says or sees. Just kinda wish she'd kept her mouth shut." Sophie responded.

"The Harvest ritual. You said you didn't believe in it. Were you right?"  Wanda asked the witch. "No. I saw it with my own eyes. It was working. It was real." Sophie replied.

"So, how can you be so sure Sabine's vision isn't?" Hayley asked.

Sophie never responded.

Rebekah pours Hayley and Wanda drinks as well as one for herself, Kol sat next to Wanda downing his glass.

Rebekah offered one to Hayley but quickly remembered she was pregnant, she handed Wanda one and she skeptically eyed it, "You really think I would poison you?" Rebekah asked,

Wanda quickly shook her head, "It's not that, I've just never drank before." she reluctantly said. Rebekah shot her a incredulous look, "Go on try it then" she insisted.

Wanda took a sip and scrunched up her face coughing lightly, "That tastes distressing" she said, Kol laughed and took the glass from Wanda drinking it himself.

Rebekah turned her attention to Hayley, "I don't care if we have to get you a leash, that was your last trip to the bayou. What is it with you and those wolves, anyway?" she asked the girl.

"I feel like we're connected somehow. I don't know. Maybe it's just some pipe dream that I have of finding any real family out there. But sometimes, when I feel like it's me against the world, it keeps me going." Hayley revealed.

Wanda and Rebekah send the girl a sympathetic look, "Oh, right. Well, if you ask me, family is a pain in the behind." Rebekah said. "I second that." Kol announced.

"And as for being in it alone, how dare you? I don't ruin a perfectly fabulous pair of boots traipsing through the bayou for just anyone." Rebekah said as Wanda laughed.

Their conversation is interrupted when someone walks through the door, "Nik! Finally, what-" but Rebekah was cut short when she saw the person at the door.

Wanda and Hayley got up to see who was at the door and saw Elijah, Kol came from behind and wrapped an arm around Wanda's shoulders, unfazed by his older brothers arrival.

"Elijah! You're safe! Now that you're home, is your first plan to kill Niklaus?" Rebekah says as she hugs him. Hayley caught Elijah's attention and he excuses himself from his younger sister, "Where's he going?" Rebekah asked.

Wanda smirked knowingly as she saw Elijah stop in front of Hayley, "You're back" she stated the obvious, "I'm back" he confirmed.

Hayley slapped him across the face making Wanda hold back a loud laugh, "Don't make promises you can't keep" she said to him, Elijah just smiled at her.

Elijah turned his attention away from her for a moment to look at Wanda and Kol. "Wanda, pleasure to see you again." he stated "Nice to see you too Elijah." the redhead said.

Elijah's gaze went to the arm around Wanda, he looked at his younger brother and smirked knowingly. Kol wanted to scowl at him.

"Nice to see you fit right into the family, Wanda." Elijah said honestly.

Wanda smiled, it was starting to feel like home.
