🌻Chapter Twenty-Six🌻
"The princess, a villain and a king."

───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
Let's play a tiny round of never have I ever.
I'll start. Never have I ever been in a position where i almost shit my pants.
Not a single thought and i would've gulped that shot down my throat because holy cow, i've never ever felt this anxious before.
It's cold, it's really cold and i'm shivering. Is it actually beacuse of cold? It's pretty warm, the sun is just setting. October can never be this cold, to be honest, it's not at all cold.
Wait, what am i thinking?
Fuck, i might just die standing right in front of my home, my actual home where my parents live. The big metal door that leads to a beautiful garden and then the entrance of the main door to the house isn't a very new sight. I've spent years of my life here, played with snow in the garden, planted flowers in summers and danced in rain here. But right now, i want to run away from here.
I've been gaslighting myself since last night that it's going to be alright. Jae and Da eun have been constantly telling me how it will be normal just like every time but i know it's going to be heart wrenching.
The car door slams shut behind me and i chew my lip, my legs shaking in anxiety.
A warm hand touches mine in less than a few seconds. I sigh, not very much relieved though because the reason why i'm anxious right now is him.
I've never taken a guy to home, not once has my parents meet any guy that i introduced as a friend or boyfriend. So, this is new and so exhilarating. One part of me cant wait, other part of me wants to bolt.
"They're going to like me," Jungkook speaks by my ear.
This guy is so chill for someone who's meeting his girlfriend's parents.
"Just don't talk about anything that relates to you doing illegal stuff," i tell him and we start walking.
"I won't lie if they ask," he says.
Well, no parent is going to ask the boyfriend of their daughter's if he's into kidnapping, beating and killing people. It won't be that bad, i guess. It has to be.
As we walk through the lawn, Jungkook draws circle on the back of my hand with his thumb to keep me calm from any heart attack that i'm almost on the verge to have because of how loudly my heart is beating.
As we near the main door to the house, my heart beat increases with evert step that i take.
I look at Jungkook. He does look decent, not like someone who does illegal stuff. He looks like some any other hot guy. He's wearing sky blue jeans with a black t shirt. There's a black hoodie that covers his arms perfectly, showing no tattoos, well except his side of neck. Due to his modern mullet, it's almost covered. His hair are set nicely for someone who has habit of raking his hands every now and then. His appearance won't be a problem, i think.
I am kind of ok with mom reacting to him, but what would dad too? I hope Jungkook makes out alive out of here. Dad isn't very scary but he is very serious about me, especially when it comes to guys.
I exhale heavily as we stand right in front of the door and my legs shake in anxiety. I don't have it in me to ring the doorbell right now. Can we just leave?
"Are you ready?" Jungkook asks as he lifts his hand towards the doorbell.
I panic, "Huh?"
Before i could say something, he rings the bell. I kind of feel thankful because in no way i could do this. I squeeze his hand tightly, almost crushing his bones as i wait for the door to open with raging heartbeat.
The door gets unlocked and then it opens.
I inhale sharply as the face of my mother comes in view. For a moment, i feel relieved to see her. She's my mother in the end. She feels like home.
"Oh Hana, my baby," she lunges forward to get me into her warm embrace.
"Mom," i sigh out as i leave Jungkook's hand to hug my mom back. Her warmth radiates out of her and i pull her closer to me and so does she. I missed her.
"How are you, my baby?" she asks me, caressing my head.
I pull away from the hug and speak, "I'm so fine, Mom."
"Hm, i can see," she smiles as she looks behind me at the huge man towering both of us.
Sudden nervousness flashes in me again as i clear my throat for the introduction. I look back at Jungkook to see him standing there with a slight smile on his face.
"Uh Jungkook, mom. Mom, Jungkook. My...,"
"Boyfriend," Jungkook completes as he bows to my mom.
"Yeah, Boyfriend," i smile at mom.
It feels so weird to introduce my parents to a boy. I've never done this before so i hesitate at anything, calculating every word. I don't want to ruin this.
"Oh Jungkook, heard a lot about you," mom smiles at him, big.
I've never talked about Jungkook to her, but my friends sure did behind my back, i'm damn sure. Jae and Da eun are here too. They arrived before us to help mom like every year, traditionally. They find solace in my parents and i feel great to be somewhat useful to them.
"I hope what you've heard is good, Mrs. Kim," Jungkook smiles at her.
My mother chuckles," For sure. Oh, come in!"
She leaves the doorway for us to enter. I enter first and then Jungkook follows. My mother ushers to be by my side to come near my ear.
"I didn't know you had a type for such guys," she teases me, a glint in her eyes.
"What type?" i ask her, baffled. Jungkook looks decent, at least today!
"The gangster type," she answers and i almost scream out no.
"He's not a gangster, mom!" i whisper shout at her as i take my heels off to wear home slippers from the rack. Behind us, Jungkook is doing the same.
"Uh huh? sure, i believe you," she smirks like a witch.
"Mo-"
"You were a cute child, Hana," i hear Jungkook behind me.
My heart drops to my ass when i see him looking at my childhood pictures that my parents have hanged as polaroids with big clips on some thin rope. They are all around the wall!
Oh my holy mother. These are embarrassing. I'm literally naked in some of these!
"Why are these photos here?! I remember them not hanging here last time, Mom," i whine at her, cheeks reddening with embarrassment as i look at my pictures. Eating mud in one, eating my thumb in another and eating a toy in another. Why was i eating everything as a toddler?!
"Oh, it's your birthday tomorrow. They give nostalgia," my mother coos to join Jungkook who's fondly looking at my childhood pictures.
I look at the one he's looking at right now. I'm screaming in it, crying as i'm scared of a clown that my parents called at my first birthday party. I remember dad telling me how i hid in his lap the whole night.
"And yes, Jungkook, she was an adorable child and now she's grown into a beautiful girl, isn't it?" mom looks at the photos with him now as i look at Jungkook's back.
He turns around to look at me with soft eyes, the softest i've ever seen. My cheeks redden even more, feeling hot as he stares at me softly.
"Yes, she has grown into a beautiful woman and a brave one too," he answers my mother, his eyes still hold my gaze.
I gulp and now not only my cheeks, my heart feels warm too. I look at mom and she has a very content smile on her face as she looks at me.
"Hana! You're here!" a loud female voice reaches my ears from the stairs.
I look towards the source of the voice to see Da eun rushing down the stairs and Jae following her, not running like her though.
Da eun reaches me and hugs me tightly like i don't meet her everyday.
"Happy birthday!" she screams into my ear. I jolt.
"Thanks but there are good six hours in my birthday," i tell her as she pulls away from me.
"Yeah, but this birthday is more special so we starting early," she squeaks.
"That's a ridiculous excuse," i chuckle.
"Well, do you like the decor?" she asks, excitedly.
"Wait, was this your idea?" i ask her.
"Yeah, i know you loved it," she smiles but seeing my expression that no, i'm not a fan of this.
"Well, Jungkook liked it though," Mom jumps in.
"I certainly did," he agrees and i throw darts at him through my eyes.
"Hana," a deep voice flows through the air as i see my dad approaching us from the stairs.
"Dad!" i squeal as i run to him.
Before i could even reach him, his arms themselves open for me. I crash into him as i hug him tightly, wrapping both my arms around his stomach. I smile as his warm presence fills nostalgia inside me.
I look up at him with a big grin and he kisses my forehead. No matter how much he gets busy with his work, he always tried to be the best father to me. He provided me with anything i wanted, with so much love and affection.
Even in his late forties, he looks dashing, not gonna lie. My parents love each other like they're still youngsters, the glow stays on their face, showing how happy they are.
"You look really good, princess," he says, probably seeing my twinkling eyes and glowing face which shows nothing but happiness.
"Thanks, Dad," i pull away from him to look at him, "But you look thinner. Aren't you eating well?"
He swings his hand, "I've been working out a lot lately."
I raise my eyebrows at him. He has always been working out, to be honest. Not a day has passed in last twenty year of my existence where he hasn't seen the light of the gym. He keeps his body young just like that.
Not to mention, he was a hot spot for all the girls and teachers in my school whenever he would come for parents teachers meeting.
"Any reason for that?" i ask.
"I need to have strength to punch someone in need," he mumbles and then indicates behind me.
Without even looking, i know what he means. I roll my eyes, slightly. I knew this would happen. But like a obedient daughter, i don't say anything. Instead i hook my arm in dad's as i drag him to the place where everyone else are.
"Dad, meet Jungkook," i introduce.
"Hello, Mr. Kim," Jungkook's deep voice, hot as ever greets my dad. There's an edge of very much high confidence in his these two words.
My dad extends his hand like a true businessman for Jungkook to shake.
Jungkook looks up at him with sharp eyes and pressed lips. He doesn't think twice before he confidently shakes my dad's hand.
The air suddenly gets a little tense as i look at my mom and my friends, who are standing together. Da eun has a thrilled expression on her face while mom clearly is feeling the tension just like me.
Then i look at Jungkook. His face is set, focused, lips pressed into a thin line and eyes shining. His body posture doesn't change much as he very nicely shakes my dad's hand.
They look into each other's eyes with determination and something in me tells me that tonight is going to be memorable. Either is a bad way or a good one.
I might not be ready for tonight, to be honest.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
It's almost 8 pm and me and my best friends are in the kitchen. Jae has a can of beer in her hand and Da eun's busy tasting anything and everything my mom has made for tonight.
My parents, both, took Jungkook to living room after the very awkward welcome. Internally, i'm way more anxious than anything because right now, my boyfriend is under interrogation by my parents.
If i was there with him, i could've held the situation nicely but with Jungkook being alone over there, i'm not sure. He's blunt as hell. He speaks his mind, and won't hesitate to tell the darkest of his secrets if my parents asked him anything.
My mom just went in with a bottle of champagne, my dad's favorite one to lighten his notorious aura. For all i know, any moment i'd hear screams and see blood if Jungkook slips anything out of his mouth that my father doesn't approve of. Like drugs, killings, gangs, him becoming the next leader to the same fucked up gang.
I exhale heavily as i press my back to the hard kitchen island. I want this to go smoothly, please my holy mother.
"Mmmh, your mother cooks the best chicken, Hana," Da eun hums as she tastes the meat yet again.
"Da eun, this is not the right time," Jae says as she takes another sip from her beer.
Da eun sighs and walks towards me.
"I know but it doesn't even feel like we're celebrating your birthday. Why is everyone so tensed? It's just a boyfriend," Da eun whines as she stomps her feet to come stand next to where i am standing.
"Well, not just any boyfriend, that's Jungkook, the notorious bad boy of the uni," Jae explains as she chugs the last drop from her can.
"So what? I mean we've already told your mom that he's a nice guy and she believes me considering i never compliment any guy in front of someone," my shorter friend keeps on whining and i sigh myself now.
"I just don't know if dad would like him. You know how possessive he gets and oh God, Jungkook isn't less," i almost have headache right now.
"Anyways," i turn to Jae," How did your visit to your mom went?"
"Why do you think she's on the sixth can of beer in one day?" Da eun counters as Jae clanks open another can of beer.
"Drinking beer isn't going to make you feel better, Jae," i remark.
"I just don't want to feel worse," she drinks a sip. I don't know since what age she's drinking beer, but i think it's been forever. Since the day i met her, i knew she drinks beer a lot owning to which she now has very great alcohol tolerance.
"Was there anything new?" I ask her.
She shakes her head as i grab her shoulder to press it. The story of her family, especially her parents gives me really bad chills. Her dad's dead and Jae wishes her mother wasn't alive either.
She has always been away from her house for a reason. Her grandparents, uncle loves her dearly but she just never stay there for long. And to be honest, i don't blame her. Her life is emotionally abusive.
"Well, let's lighten up the mood, shall we? I mean c'mon it's your birthday!" Da eun shrieks as she grabs 2 cans of beer from the counter.
My parents doesn't care about me drinking because they know i don't drink much, it's not my habit.
Da eun opens the cans as a sizzling sound courses through the kitchen.
"I actually have a good news," Da eun says and passes me the can. The cold metal feels weird on my hot skin.
"What is it?" Jae asks, anticipating.
"Yesterday's art exhibition went really successful and guess what?!" Da eun squeals, making me smile too.
"What?" i ask, way more excited now.
"All of my art pieces were sold! Every single one!" she dances.
"Oh my God, wow! That's amazing, Da eun. How much did you get this time?" i ask her.
"Well, like decided 20% of the earning," Da eun waves her hand like she doesn't care.
I look at Jae to find her disappointing face already looking at me because, well, we care about this a lot.
"How long will this be going on, Da eun? They're your paintings, your hard work and that oldie gets 80% of the earning. You deserve it all," i complaint. I don't care if i sound unhappy because it is upsetting.
"Mr. Shim is generous enough to sell my paintings. Do you think i can ever do that on my own considering how my parents think it's a sin for me do to anything that doesn't involve being a fucking doctor? Painting is my hobby, i don't care what i earn from it. I already have enough, i'm not dying," Da eun explains and we get her point but how long is she going to let that oldie take advantage of her talent.
"But your art deserves to be sold under your name, with your signature under the painting not that man's. And it's not about need Da eun, it's about what you deserve. Painting is not just your hobby, it's your passion and y-"
Da eun cuts Jae in between, "Well what should i do? Start selling them with my name and get disowned? Or just stop painting? There's no in between, Jae. I just want the world to admire my talent and it's enough for me."
Da eun's forehead creases and i feel bad for ruining this for her. I sigh. If she's happy with it then we can't tell her not to be. If that's how she likes it, then so it be. It doesn't matter for her whether it's right or wrong.
"Well, let's not ruin the moment. If Da eun is happy then so are we! Right, Jae?" i turn to my other friend who is still bitter, i can tell.
"If that's what makes her happy, i am happy too," Jae says and smiles at her.
"Yes! So let's raise a toast to the successful exhibition!" i cheer putting my can up in hope they'll clank theirs with mine.
Da eun's grin decorates her face again, her caramel coloured eyes light up and i adore it on her. I like it when my girlies are happy, especially after their hardwork.
She raises her can first and then Jae does it.
"Cheers!" we say in unison, then break out laughing as we clink our cans with one another's, the atmosphere lightening up again.
"What are you guys cheering for?" my mom comes into the kitchen and her jasmine scent fills the space. She's obsessed with jasmine. Her shampoo, lotions, perfumes, everything she uses on her body has jasmine in it. And it actually feels like home to me.
"To this memorable evening we're having right now," Da eun answers.
"Well, it is going to be memorable. Can i be part of this girl gang?" mom picks up the last can from the white kitchen island as she opens it.
"Sure!" Da eun says, in enthusiasm.
Mom clanks her beer can with ours and i feel anxiety all over again as i remember where she's coming from. But looking at her face, i think nothing is abnormal in there.
"So, how's it going in the study?" i ask, heart sinking for god knows what reason.
"It's good as of now. Your dad is finding reasons to hate him, disapprove of him," mom chuckles.
There's an even bigger concern that my parents have no idea about. Me moving in with Jungkook. If they don't take our relationship nicely, i don't know how they'll react to me staying with him.
"Aw, that's actually cute," Da eun coos.
"I've heard that dad's doesn't feel much good to see some other man taking away their princesses from them," Jae says, her eyes shining.
"Well that's exactly what is happening, i think," mom says, hissing at the bitter taste of beer in first sip.
"But i ain't going away from you guys, i'm still too young," i pout, thinking.
Mom chuckles as she cups my cheek, "But you're growing up, my darling."
I look at her with pinched eyebrows trying to understand what she meant but she breaks the silence.
"By the way, none of you girls told me he's part of some gang," mom says and i almost choke om my beer.
I cough out slightly as i look at Jae and Da eun, both having a horrible look on their faces too. Did my parents ask him about it? Jungkook said he won't lie if they ever ask him. What did they ask him for him to tell about this? And if they know, how is everything so calm? I thought there'd be a bloodbath, not that i want it but i'm confused!
"Did Jungkook tell you?" i ask mom, my eyes scanning for any change of reaction on her face.
"No, i know one when i see one," she answers, coolly like it's so normal but here, i'm freaking out.
"What do you mean?" i enquire, feeling anxious.
"Your Dad was part of a gang in the uni too," mom confesses.
"What?!" all three of us gasp out.
Wait, hold on a minute.
Dad was part of a gang in the university, apparently our university where they had studied too. Dad used to do those illegal stuff too?
I mean dad looks really fit for his age, has got fighting skills, is good at shooting, has those scary tattoos on his back isn't all just because he had passion for them? It's because he was part of this notorious system?
My eyes widen. Oh my holy mother.
God forbid if there was a son in this family, he would've gone into the gang too.
"Yeah, the main reason why i was into him was because of his bad boy personality," mom giggles, in one sip of beer she's oversharing some tmis we didn't ask for.
I'm still not over the fact that Dad was part of this all once, but why isn't he associated with it now? Was he expelled? Because knowing my dad, he's very passionate. There's no way he was incompatible to be in there.
"Ooh~ You were wilding, Mrs. Kim," Da eun teases mom as she giggles even more.
"Like mother, like daughter," Jae jokes and everyone laughs except me who's confused.
"What happened?" mom asks me, nearing me as i look at her.
"It's just unbelievable, to be honest," i chuckle.
"Hm, i can understand. Your dad didn't want his past in the gang to be talked about in this house. That's why he hid it from you," mom explains.
"But why? He hated being in there?" i ask.
"Not being in there. He enjoyed the thrill of it all, he was one of bests in there. Girls used to fawn over him. You know when he used to play basketball, the girls drooled over those large arm-" mom stops looking at us.
We, especially me, look at her in horrified expression. This is why i don't like being around mom when she's drinking alcohol because she speaks like some teenager. I'd listen to it all but not about how hot she found my dad in her days. It feels gross.
And we weren't even talking about this. I asked about why he hated talking about gang, not how girls liked him. I cringe at the thought again.
"Sorry, haha," mom nervously chuckles.
"No, i like when you talk about Mr. Kim like that. Makes me feel romance is not dead," Da eun consoles mom for the situation to not turn embarrassing for her.
"Romance is never dead when you're with the right person," mom smiles to herself, her eyes shining and i suddenly see Jungkook in my mind. Butterflies flutter inside my stomach.
"So what did you ask?" mom asks.
"Why dad hated the gang stuff?" i remind her.
"Oh." she sighs, like the memory is not good.
"He actually fell in love with me," she explains.
I pinch my eyebrows together, "What does it has to do with the gang?"
"When you're a part of such gangs, you do things on accord of the leader. Your personal life is no longer your personal life. Emotions are considered useless when you're part of this. Fearless, with no weakness is what they expect from their men," mom continues, recalling her time.
"Girls were like prohibited as a personal thing in the gang. You know use them and then break contact, that's what they did. Falling in love while being in training stage and then getting caught was considered shameful. Love is weak, as they'd say."
"When the other members got to know about Jiho having a girlfriend, me, the rivals picked it up immediately as a weakness. As a result, i was once almost kidnapped as a lure in because they knew that he would do anything to get me back. He was one of the bests like i told."
"Your dad was scared. I still remember the night when he saved me and i cried in his arms being so scared of everything. I didn't want to be part of that ugly world but i also couldn't tell him to leave it all for me. He could've become really powerful with all the gang support, which he needed badly for his business."
Mom exhales and we three listen to her very clearly. Jungkook never tells me about the hidden side of the gang. I never ask him either, i'm not interested. But ever since i'm being seen with him, it had been difficult for my safety. I do feel unsafe when i'm not with him.
I know how important the gang is for him, his future is secured if he stays there. The family business along with the leadership will make him one of the powerful men in the country in coming years and i don't want him to rip him off it.
"But," mom continues and i look at her face again, " He made the choice himself, before i could say something."
"He chose you," Jae completes.
Mom nods, "He left the gang, it wasn't easy. There were fights, very bloody situation. He said he didn't care about his future if that costs him my life."
I smile. I've always known them as the romantics.
"He left the uni and so did i," she tells.
"Then you both went abroad to study further. Dad was handed over the business which he ran after he completed his studies and came back here," i continue.
"Yes. I sometimes think if he stayed part of the gang, business would've been way easier. He couldn't have gone through those massive losses he went through in initial years," she sighs.
"But i'm glad that he chose you," Da eun says, "You're the only couple i look upto. And you stayed with him in his hard time which is actually far better. Plus if you weren't together, we might've never had our Hana!"
Jae laughs out, and them mom.
"Hana is the best thing that has happened to us," mom looks into my eyes with adoration and i feel so glad to have her as my mom.
I step towards her and hug her tightly. She wraps her arms around me as she giggles at the sudden physical love.
"Aww," Da eun coos.
"You're the best mom," I whisper to my mom.
"Of the best daughter? yes," she says and i smile inhaling her jasmine scent.
"Come here," mom opens up her arms for my two besties.
I look at them through mom's shoulders as they run to hug my mom too. Their arms wrap around me too as we share our moment.
"I hope you three stay together forever and tell your children stories about your young age," mom blesses.
"Thank you so much, Mrs. Kim, but forget that i'm ever getting married," Jae speaks.
We all snicker as we pull away. Mom caresses Jae's arms as she says, "What if you end up being the first one getting married among you three?"
We look at each other before Jae bursts out laughing. I join in too seeing her laugh whole heartedly. In few seconds, the jokes starts circulating within us as the laughter becomes louder and we laugh at our jokes till our stomach hurts.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
I rinse my hands as i'm done with putting the freshly made pasta inside the big bowl.
It's almost dinner time and just about twenty minutes back, i saw dad and my dear boyfriend coming downstairs from their intense business talks, i mean that's what it seemed like.
Both of them came down very oddly quite so it's hard to tell whether it went well or it was a disaster. However considering my dad's calmness, i don't think he hated Jungkook. That sounds very relieving in my head because i almost lost my mind thinking about it.
I hear footsteps behind me as i'm too lost into my thoughts while standing by the sink.
I feel hard arms wrap around my waist before i inhale the minty smell. I don't have to look back to know who this is, i'm so familiar with this grip, with the comfort that they provide me.
I mentally melt in my place as Jungkook's hard torso flushes against my back. My mind finding it's peace. Ever since the therapy started, the negative voice is disappearing slowly but this overthinker hasn't left. If he doesn't come here right now, i might've ended up in migraine.
"I missed you," Jungkook's whisper makes my insides tingle as a red blush covers my cheeks.
"You left me for no more than an hour," i say and smile, looking down at his arms covered with the black hoodie he's wearing. I kind miss of the sight of his tattoos now.
"I crave your existence with me 24/7, my peach," he asserts and then spins me around.
I look up at him. He has a very shiny glint in his eyes like he's happy being here. In my house or with me, i don't know but he looks good and it makes me feel good.
He leans in to kiss me but i pull my head away. We're in my parents' house, i don't want to get caught in here. Anyone can walk into the kitchen especially since it's time for dinner.
"Not here-"
I'm not given a chance to complete myself when his hand wraps around my nape and he pulls me forward towards his face. His lips are on mine and at this point, i'm too far gone to say no.
The moment our lips touch, my mind goes calm. All i can concentrate on are his soft pink lips.
The press of lips turn into him opening my mouth to get his tongue inside me. I couldn't help but whine when he softly bites my lip in process. I taste champagne on his tongue, he might be tasting beer on mine.
After few seconds of kissing me, he finally pulls away to take a breathe. I look up at him, all shy in this close proximity. His hands on my cheeks feel too warm and i want to snuggle in them.
He gives me a small smile as i look at his glistening lips, a little darker because of my tint that's on his lips now. The sight is too sexy for me to erase it.
"You're so beautiful, baby," Jungkook compliments me and i blink at him.
He compliments me a lot but right now, the way he's looking at me is what leaving me speechless. There are so many stars in his eyes, his cheeks have slight tint of pink. I don't know if it's because of champagne or me, but my heart flutters at the sight.
Jungkook sighs as his fingers goes up to my hair strands that are shadowing my face. He softly puts them on the side of my face as he keeps on looking at me.
My heart beat increases and though i've had so many intimate moments with him, this is the first time i'm feeling unrest inside me. The unrest that tingles my stomach and makes my toe curl.
I've never been looked at like this. Like i'm the most beautiful being out there, like i'm the most important thing out there.
And right now, Jungkook is looking at me like he never wants to look away.
I gulp. This is crazy because i know i'm falling in love with him. His eyes show something similar too, and you know what they say about eyes.
Eyes never lie.
Before i could turn into a madwoman right here, i clear my throat as i look away from his eyes.
"Well," i gulp again before looking back at him, "How did the meet and greet with my dad went?"
I escape from between him and the kitchen island to take in calm breathes. Damn, i didn't even know i was barely breathing there.
I take small steps towards the fridge to take out the bowl of salad. Jungkook follows my small steps with his, which are comparatively bigger than mine. But he stills stays behind me, following me like a puppy.
"Mh, i think he likes me," he says and i stop midway garnishing the bowl to look at him.
I smile at him in relief, "Really?"
It's great if he likes him. To be honest, i thought that things will be tougher now that Dad would know about Jungkook being part of a gang. He knows the dirty side and the fact that if the word flows out, it'd be dangerous for me. And he'd kill anyone who would put me in any situation that's near danger for me.
"Yeah," he nods as he leans my the kitchen island and cross his bulky arms.
He then continues," So much that he'd love to kiss my forehead with his gun."
My smile drops as i look at him. Is he serious? I'm sure horror is on my face.
Just at my expression, Jungkook starts laughing. Wait, he was joking?
"Were you joking?" i squint my eyes at him.
"Oh peach," he says between his laugh and i wanna smack his head into the wall. I almost thought dad is reloading his gun!
"I'm freaking out over here thinking about this and you're joking with me?" i put both my hands on my waist.
When he doesn't stop laughing, i grab any nearby laying thing. A pan. I grab the handle and swing it in the air.
"Woah peach, calm down," Jungkook's laughter now slowing down but i launch the pan at his head, which he dodges. He looks at me with big eyes, not believing i was actually going to hit him.
It's my turn to laugh now and i burst out right in front of his eyes.
"Oh Jungkook, you got scared of me?" i tsk between my laughs.
I knew he would dodge it easily but i wanted to turn the joke around too. If he can, why can't i?
To be honest, his reaction was genuinely funny. Like some baby's who was booed out of nowhere. If i could capture it, it would've served as nice blackmail.
He suddenly stands to his full height and i shriek lowly as i know he's going to turn the table around. I step back from him.
"Hey, where are you running to now?" he asks as i take another step back, my laughter still not cooling down.
He takes another step forward, i take another backwards.
"Na huh, stay away," i giggle as i warn him with a pan in my hand, using it like a weapon, feeling like rapunzel. Well, she knows best because pan actually serves as a good weapon.
Jungkook steps forward, a big stride to catch me but i'm fast on my feet too. I turn to my side, towards the entrance of the kitchen. Jungkook stops and then sighs. At last, he's lost from me. I smirk at the thought.
Jungkook looks behind me as he straightens up in his place, i get confused.
"Oh Mrs. Kim," he calls for my mom, looking behind me. I now realise that we aren't in his apartment but at my parents house.
I turn my head around.
Well i shouldn't have because the next moment Jungkook grabs the pan that i'm holding between us. He pulls on it and i get startled, not leaving the pan.
I gasp as Jungkook yanks the pan out of my hand and my body crashes against his. His arms wrap around my waist, securing me.
"Mischievous little lioness," he whispers and my heart beat increases suddenly.
