Mariam Abdul:
"Now my daughter is all ready and more beautiful," my mother said with joy in her eyes, and she finally let me stand up and look in the mirror.

My dad, with tears in his eyes, said, "My princess will always be dear to me no matter who takes you away from us you will always be welcomed in your own house," and I hugged them both.

"A hug without me in it?" Imad was standing at the door; he had never liked saying goodbye, and now he had to watch me get married and say goodbye.

"So, a group hug?" I asked them, and after we all gave each other hugs, I looked in the mirror to make sure I looked good.

I let out a gasp and turned to look at my mother. When I turned back to face the mirror, I saw a stunning girl with a light red lipstick, a simple eye liner, blush, and necklace of jewelry around her neck, as well as hands full of bracelets.

After praying over me, my parents blew on me. I wore green in all the ways I loved it-Khalid picked out a green gown with golden embroidery, a green hijab with a golden outline, and stone work material.

Imad's playful comment, "Someone will have a hard time lowering his gaze," startled me out of my reverie.

Mum smiled and said, "He will check after Nikkah so he is allowed dear." I thanked Allah that everything went according to plan.

It is been over a week since our last conversation, and although he granted my wish, I still find it hard to believe that after all the ups and downs, we are finally getting married. Man, did I miss him. I am eager to meet my soon-to-be spouse.

I lowered my head as my mother led me into a hall where I would soon be the focus of many eyes. I have never liked attention, but today is special, so I held onto my golden clutch and was relieved that my face was covered; it would be revealed to the groom after they were married.

Mum had handed me over to my best friend, who they had suggested should be my bridesmaid, saying, "Move aside and sit."

My friend Aila, who has been my friend since elementary school, said, "Aunty, do not worry, now it is my responsibility." I grinned at her suggestion. Aila had a slight crush on my brother, but he never showed interest in her. Did those two have a relationship of some kind?I will have to research it.

I have to tell Khalid something before it is too late. Though I was not deceived into doing anything wrong, what if Khalid interprets it badly or hears from someone else?

As the women's speaker began, everyone fell silent and waited impatiently for the groom to say yes. I never stopped praying.

"Do you, Khalid Hussein, accept Mariam Abdul as your wife? The Imam asked him, and there was a pause. I was having strange feelings.

"Yes, I accept," Khalid's voice echoed throughout the room, and the same question was asked three times, followed by many congratulations and a photo session.

I was given a marriage certificate to sign, which I did, but I wanted no one to see me except my husband, who should be the first.
Once one person sees it, it will be posted on social media, so I am glad no one was allowed to see me.

I am now a wife, a daughter-in-law, with new responsibilities and a new home.

Although Khalid lives alone, I must support him and connect him with his family; he must have some cousins.

"Congratulations, sweetie," each person arrived bearing a gift, causing tears to well up in my eyes. I will soon be leaving my brother's and parents' house to start over.

I had been taken to a room with dim lighting and lots of roses everywhere, and the girls were all laughing and making fun of me until now.

Please Almighty help me Knowing that there would be paparazzi everywhere, I should never have gone to meet that guy. I will tell him tonight before he finds out from someone else.

My heart was pounding harder every second as I lowered my eyes in response to the sound of footsteps approaching and a door closing. Why was he taking so long?

****
To be continued...

Wishing you all a very happy and blessed ramadhan Mubarak...may happiness knock on your doors and stay inside your houses and lives forever with lots of blessings .Ameen.
