“Huening!”

I shouted when I saw Hyuka at the school’s hallway. “Ahh, hyung! It’s you, why?” He asked me while taking off his headphones.

“Where’s Soobin hyung? I didn’t saw him since earlier…” I asked him.

“Ahh… Soobin hyung didn’t go to school today… I’m sorry.” He said and bowed a little.

I bit my lower lip when he answered me that, “Ahh….”

I don’t really know what I’m going to say anymore. I looked at the popsicle ice cream I bought for Soobin hyung and I that I’m holding right now in my hand.

“Don’t worry hyung, he’s not mad at you. He just need a little time for himself, okay? I’m going now.”

“Ahh y-yeah… Take care, Huening.”

He smiled at me before leaving me behind. “Why? What happened?” Jay asked me when he finally reached where I’m standing.

“Are you hungry?” I asked him.

“Not really…”

“Eat this.”

“I’m not really hungry, Gyu.”

“Eat it.” I demanded and let him hold one of the ice creams.

I heard him hissed, “Fine! Tsk. Do you have a problem, huh?” He asked me as we started walking away from the school building.

“Well… Yeah?”

“What is it?” He asked me while eating the ice cream.

“I hurt Soobin hyung…” I replied and started opening the ice cream.

“Why?”

“You’re just going to scold me if I tell you the reason.” I replied.

“Nope, it depends on your reason. Some reasons why people hurt their partners are because it can actually benefit for the both of them in the future.”

“I don’t think it can benefit the two of us…”

“Just tell me first what the hell you did to him.” He nagged me.

“Park Jay…”

“Oh, Choi Beomgyu?”

“I read a fictional novel last night. The main character wished to the star that his crush will fall in love to him really hard. Then the stars granted it but the condition is the main character should never fall out of love or else one of his family members will die. Now, they are both in love to each other but the star showed up as another human. The main character is slowly falling in love to the star… Should he stop his feelings or just go with it?”

“Whoa! Whoever the author of that novel she or he is really cruel but the representation of love is really good. Into your question, I don’t really want one of my family members will die though….” He answered seriously.

Me too… My grandma is the only one I have.

“But if you believe that love conquers everything then maybe it’ll still work. Or you can just wish again to another star. Argh, I don’t really know what I’m going to do but why don’t he just accept his fate?”

“Accept his fate?”

“Yeah… Like, accept that nothing can fix your situation already. Accept the fact that you can’t stop your feelings once you fell in love and fall out of love. Accept the fact that you’re risking your life and other’s life in loving someone.”

“That wasn’t my story, let me remind you.”

“You don’t read books. How the hell am I going to believe you?”

I rolled my eyes at him, “I just really read it!” I shouted.

“Okay! I’m going to pretend that I believe it.” He said and shrugged his shoulders.

Jay and I parted ways and because he said he’s going to meet his girlfriend. I hope she’ll be his last. Park Jay is really good in handling all his relationship, it’s just that his partners always dumped her.

“Grandma… I’m home.”

I saw her cleaning and I hugged her from behind then rest my chin on her tiny shoulder.. “Oh, why? Are you okay?” She asked me.

I nods, “Yeah… I really am.” I lied.

“Beomgyu, I didn’t taught you to be a liar.”

She faced me, “Have you talk to Soobin?” She asked.

I slowly shook my head, “No… He didn’t go to school. I think he don’t want to talk to me also. So, I’ll just give him time for now.” I replied and sighed.

She caressed my head, “If you could just be honest to yourself, it will at least lessen your burden.”

I held her hand, “I really want to but I don’t want you to get sick…”

She frowns, “Why? Why am I getting involved in that?” She asked in confusion.

“Grandma… I’m going to save you no matter what. Once I can build the courage, I’m really going to be honest and save you.” I stated.

“What are you talking about? I’m not going to die hahaha. I can’t really understand you kids. Aigoo hahaha.” She laughed and ruffled my head.

I smiled at her, “I love you grandma. Don’t ever forget that.”

“Me too. I love you so much, my dear Beomgyu.”

After we ate our dinner, I prepared grandma’s medicine and let her take all of those then sent her to bed.

I went outside for a walk. I’m going to think what I need to do.

Should I accept my fate now? Should I confess my real feelings? Should I break up with Soobin hyung?

I can think of many questions in my head but whenever I think about those, one thing that comes in my head is my grandma.

The Deity can’t assure the safety of her since day 1 and now, her life is up to my decision.

“I’m not yet ready…”

That’s what I muttered after thinking about my grandma. I don’t want her to suffer again. I don’t want her to feel that pain again.

“If you don’t want her to feel those pains, then can you fight your feelings?”

I looked behind me and I saw Yeonjun wearing that all black fit and his hands are inside the pockets of his coat.

“Yeonjun hyung, what will happen if I can endure all of this inside the remaining 10 days?” I asked him seriously.

“Can you?”

I gulped after he asked me that. “Just answer my question.”

“Your contract with Taehyun is the only thing that will end on the 90th day.It means those days are the given time for you to use all the three wishes and for Taehyun to grant it. But Choi Soobin falling in love with you will last till the day he’ll die. Your grandma’s life being in the line will last till you die. So, can you endure it?”

My world almost collapsed after hearing those from him.

“What if I’ll undo everything?” I asked him although I already asked him before about this.

“You can’t undo it.”

“What if you’re just deceiving me?”

“Then go, undo it and see that your grandma isn’t the only one who’ll die.”

I closed my eyes in frustrations. It feels like I don’t really have the choice anymore. Whatever option I’m going to choose, I’m still going to hurt someone.

“Why don’t you just accept it?”

“I c-can’t.” I replied while my voice is in crack.

“Just admit it already. Admit it to yourself that you already fall out of love.”

“I can’t!” I replied firmly while glaring in his eyes.

“You’re just hurting yourself. You’re hurting Soobin and everyone around you. You can’t do anything about this anymore! You can’t stop what the Deity has been set already! Grip yourself and decide now, Choi Beomgyu!”

“I CAN’T! I CAN’T DO THAT!”

“So you’re just going to keep it to yourself!? How long do you plan in hurting Choi Soobin!?”

“STOP ASKING ME ALREADY!”

“NO! You need to accept your fate now!”

“Yes! I’m in love with Kang Taehyun! I really love him already! I fell out of love from Soobin hyung!”

My tears started falling in race as said all of those for the first time. Those words that I really want to let out. Those are the words that I want the world to know.

I breakdown in and felt my knees on the ground. I’m crying so hard in this quiet alley while in front of this black deity.

“I’m sorry but I need to do this.”

He said that line in a low voice while looking down in his feet. I covered my mouth when I realized I just confessed everything.

I let Choi Yeonjun pushes me at the edge and confessed everything to him.

I run towards him and knelt. “I… I d-din’t mean to say those. Please! Please!” I cried while holding both of his hands.

“Please! Don’t do anything to my grandma. Please! Just take my life instead please! Stop what you are planning!” I cried so hard in his front while begging to unheard everything that I said.

“I really love her so much! Please don’t do anything that can harm to her! I’m begging you! Spare her life! J-just this once! Please.” I begged till I poured everything already in every word I utter.

“I’m sorry. What the Deity has planned should be fulfilled.” 

I looked at him while I’m kneeling. His face is still straight and he’s not meeting my gaze. I don’t know what he meant by that but it made me tremble in fear.

Suddenly, like a slow motion in movies, I saw an ambulance rushing towards the direction of our house. Its siren made my eyes widen, made me feel the coldness of the night and almost made me froze in where I’m kneeling.

“NO! GRANDMA!”
