Chapter 18 - 'Just like you'

Clara's PoV

I'm still not completely sure why I agreed to all this, but I know that I do need answers. So I'm only going for that.

'You okay?' He asked me when we arrived.

I stroked her little cheek when she started blowing baby raspberries and so I put the seat on the buggy and pushed her out of the Tardis.

I nodded a bit hesitant. I was trying to hide the fact that I am in major debt.

I had yet another few bills come through, with final notices and I don't even know what some of them are for.

Like literally I don't even know. If he finds out though, he'll just take pity on me.

'Hey Osgood. You remember Clara right?' The Doctor asked and she nodded.

'Nice seeing you again' she said. The last time I saw her I was in a coma, having just come out of the Doctors time stream.

Everyone was freaking out about that. 'Is this her?' Osgood asked and I nodded.

'Her names Autumn' I said pulling her carefully out of the car seat and handed her over to Osgood.

The Doctor had barely held her since the first night he came back. I wasn't sure if he was just being distant, or if it was because he genuinely didn't want anything to do with her.

'Doctor. She's just like you' Osgood said.

Today she was having a bit of a Doctor day. I had noticed that since the day she was born.

She goes through days where she looks like me and then there's days where she's the spitting image of him.

He grunted and went to the monitor. 'Is it okay to do this Clara?' Osgood asked.

I nodded reluctantly. Osgood expertly did the blood test while I kept Autumn calm, and she took the samples away to analyse.

That was when I heard the double doors swing open. 'I heard The Doctors here two days in a row' Kate said, but she was shocked when she came in.

'Listen. I just need a little more time. I'm going through a lot right now' I begged down the phone.

Being 6 months pregnant and fighting with the bank really takes it out of you.

'I don't want to claim anything, I just want you to put the account on hold. Just until I figure something out' I begged again.

I hung up and my dad appeared in the door way. 'Everything alright?' He asked.

'No not really. It's all coming back to bite me. I've got bills coming out of my ears. And as for my student fees... I don't know where to begin' I grumbled.

Turns out university costs a whole lot more than what you think.

'Can't you get a loan?' He asked. 'I would love to. But I had to do that last year to pay the rent, and I can't even pay that loan back, so what are my chances of getting another one now' I complained.

'Umm not a whole lot I guess. I can give you some money to cover the rent Clara but I can't help with your loans' he said.

My dad has never been in debt. I do have money but it's frozen away. Sort of money from my mum I suppose.

When she died she left me money but I can't get to it.

We are in the middle of trying to sort that out, but it's proving to be impossible.
