Chapter 15
Note: A chapter number is skipped from here on out until I either Edit the entire fic or have the time to go into all 80 chapters to correct the title number. Don't freak out if you go from 15 to 17. It's me, not you.
It took longer than it normally did to get Wade to pass out, but eventually, they got there. He carried the man from the bedroom to the bathroom, using his foot to turn on the tub. He waited until it was warm before pressing down the stopper and lowering the merc down into the lukewarm bath, hand remaining firmly clenched on the man's neck. Given the healing factor Wade had, Peter didn't think that he'd actually cause any permanent damage, but he still planned to remove his hand after the five-minute mark to give the man a second to recoup before putting him back under.
The water quickly turned pink and soon enough red once he'd set the man down as carefully as he could, laying down a towel at the back of the tub so Wade's skin wouldn't catch on the porcelain as dry and wet tended to do. He released Wade, frowning as he realized he'd signed himself up for something far more personal than he was really ready to do.
Wade blinked awake with the first few heartbeats. He didn't really react at first. It took him several seconds to register Peter, and Peter could imagine the slow-moving signals making their way to the brain to deliver the news about the pain. Wade gasped, eyes hardening reflexively, almost animalistic in the immediateness of his panic, but he settled by closing his eyes with a shaky breath that was meant to hide his weakness and discomfort.
"I'm going to put you back under, and we're going to get the material off your skin, alright?" Peter explained as he stood and trapped the shower wand. I'll bring you back every few minutes to make sure you don't actually get hurt, but I'll do my best to make sure that you don't come to when I'm in the middle of something that is going to be more painful than just sitting still."
Wade made eye contact with Peter, neither agreeing nor taking any initiative to stop him. Peter reached out and squeezed again, sending Wade out after a minute. He had to do everything with a single hand, rinsing and draining the red water several times over, bringing Wade back to the waking world three times before he moved onto the part that was going to really suck doing with one hand.
The Deadpool suit. It needs to come off.
He started with the gloves and eventually found the zipper to the main body. It took several maneuvers and he had to test the strength of the wall plaster at one point as he hovered over Wade from the side of the wall. The top was separate from Wade's pants and he tossed it aside once it was off, deciding he'd mop the mess of prink water later. He had to remove a few straps that Wade hadn't managed to take off before he collapsed into bed, tossing those aside. He had to work on man's pants, letting go of Wade before he did to go find a towel to wrap around the man's hips so he could maneuver it down as he worked the leather off him. Wade was a little too delirious to seem to care about what was happening, the on and off pressure of his blood flooding to his head seemed to be giving him a mild rush, probably similar to huffing chemicals. Which Peter had accidentally done a handful of times while working with toxins in chemistry labs or the photography room where the fumes of some of their chemicals were a tad potent when not diluted correctly.
Once undone, the pain of Wade's state became extremely clear. His entire body looked inflamed, and he was bleeding wherever there had been a seam in the suit that had rubbed into his delicate skin during his . . . whatever this was. It clearly had something to do with the man's healing factor. He continued to delicately but quickly wash away the blood before draining the tub and getting a few bath sheets, wrapping the merc up before carrying him off to the couch in the living room so he could strip the bed of it's bloody materials. He didn't know where the sheets were so he laid down a few layers of soft blankets before brining the merc back to the bed and he left him there under a blanket and wrapped in the towels to begin cleaning.
This scene was entirely rewritten and had large segments removed.
