-when five became six-
50 days have passed and Theo had managed to fit into the new camp well.
On the first night she had the pleasure of meeting everyone, some in the same boat as her, losing family members also.
She had managed to spill her heart out to one guy who seemed shy at first. But a week into the camp she was getting changed in the RV, only to be walked in on...
flashback...
Theo was minding her own business, getting dressed after having a quick shower.
She pulled her underwear up, clipping her bra on when someone walked in.
She turned in fright to be met with Glenn.
"Holy shit!" Theo yelled as she threw a towel at him
"Oh my god! I'm sorry!" He ran out the RV, tripping down the steps, landing heavily on the ground.
Theo quickly jumped into a pair of shorts before pulling her shirt over her head.
"Are you okay?" Theo helped him off of the ground.
"Yeah, just wanted to know if you needed anything before I make a run..." He looked down embarrassed
"Glenn right?" Theo doubled checked as he nodded. "If you wanna see a girl naked I suggest introducing yourself first" She laughed.
He blushed heavily before she began laughing even harder.
"I'm joking Glenn" She tapped him on the shoulder as he sighed in relief.
"I'll come with you if that's alright?" She asked as she attacked her holster to her leg with her gun in.
"Yeah!" Glenn smiled
It was the weird beginning of their friendship and they had been almost inseparable since.
But it was working, the community had come together to keep each other safe.
A group of strangers who would have never have even met if it wasn't for the world ending.
"You alright sweetheart" Dale, the older man with the RV came to sit next to Theo. She was currently making bolts from wood she had found.
Her blonde hair moved slowly over her shoulders as she turned to look at him.
"Yeah, I'm okay" She smiled, it was a fake smile, but unsure that she had genuinely smiled since shit hit the fan, meant no one knew the difference.
"What are you doing?" He asked he looking at what she was doing.
"Just passing time" She slowly nodded looking down at the small pile that was forming.
"You don't own a crossbow?" He asked, but soon realised and smiled, nudging her shoulder slightly.
"Isn't fair that he goes out all day and might run out for them" She sighed throwing another on the floor before looking at her mother and brother.
"You want to talk about it?" he asked politely. Dale wasn't one to push, he was kind and honest. He was at least in his 60s showing grey hairs on his head, on his beard, wrinkles forming on his skin. He dressed in a Hawaiian shirt with white trousers, followed by a sniper rifle over his shoulder at all times in order to watch the far distance.
"Just, wishing my dad was here" She admitted, looking back at her mother Lori, who was currently doing the washing while watching Shane and Carl. They had become like a happy little family, she thought to herself.
She knew it was strange but Carl was happy, even though he was young and didn't quite understand the threat of the world, he still stayed true to himself and kept smiling and that's all Theo cared about.
"Why is that, other than the obvious" he pleaded, looking at her, having his full divided attention.
"Me and my mum, never got along, still dont, probably never will, she had me when she was 16, meaning that she blames me for ruining her life, my dad, however, was my best friend, and the only person other than Carl to actually love me so...'' Theo vented to the man who was once a stranger, now considered almost family. "The only thing me and my mother have in common is our hazel eyes, and that's it."
"How old does that make you?" he asked the young girl.
Even though they had been together since the start, everyone was still getting to know each other.
"20, 21 soon" she sarcastically celebrated by waving her hands in the air.
"Wow. you dont look it" he smiled, looking at the bolts she had hand made.
"I used to get that a lot, but I am, I swear" She smiled, causing her to remember all the times when she was younger, getting hit on by older men thinking she was older, only for her to be under age. She cringed but laughed slightly at her memories.
"Theo!" Carl yelled from the other side from where the two were sitting.
Dale gave her a sweet smile, "Your one tough cookie, don't let anyone tell you otherwise." before leaving her and her brother alone.
"What's up buddy?" she smiled, Carl was 7, her pride and joy, he was her only brother and she loved him more than anything, the thing she hated most was the fact he had to grow up knowing a world that ended, but she was proud to say he was like her and her dad, stubborn and strong, never going to give up because of a small issue, or in this case, the biggest issue there possibly can be. He always smiled, scared only when necessary, he was a kid, and as long as she and the people they made his life easy, he could continue to be a kid. Not needing to raise a gun at a dead person walking just yet.
"Have you seen Sophia?" he asked, looking around, his bright blue eyes that he got from his father reflecting in the bright sun, squinting slightly as he searched for his friend.
"You mean the cute girl that you obviously fancy" his sister teased, wiggling her eyebrows.
The small boys cheeks went red, causing Theo to let out a little laugh.
"Shut up Theo!" he yelled in embarrassment, a small smile tugging at his lips.
"Theodora, please don't teach your brother to talk like that" Lori yelled after hearing Carl.
"Yeah well you'll be saying a lot worse a lot sooner if the worlds on a spiral," she said under her breath, knowing for a fact she never hid cuss words from the boy.
"Yeah, like shit!" he laughed as Theo covered his mouth quickly.
"Shh, before you get me a smack" she laughed back, giving the small boy a little hit behind the back of his head. "And yes i have seen Sophia, she is with her mum Carol." she pointed at the short hair woman, Carol, the women they had met on the road that night, with her young daughter, blonde short hair, always smiling, however, there always seemed to be hidden fear when it came to the girls of that family, Ed, Carol's husband, he wasn't very kind, and due to the bruises that appear every so often, the obvious answer is that he was abusive.
They were all currently waiting for a group of their people to get back from a supply run, Glenn, who Theo had recently became close with and was considered one of her good friends a small Korean boy who looked to innocent for this world, but turned out to be one of the handiest guys when it came to knowing the way around Atlanta.
Andrea, a blonde women in her early 30s, the sister of one of the other girls around here. She had a fighter spirit, but she was all talk and no action, as far as Theo had seen. But she cared about her sister Amy a lot, a young girl the same age as Theo, dark blonde roots and a lot more sensible than a lot of their elder members.
Jacqui, a woman who was on her own, she was frightened when they came across her, but turned out to be bit of a badass.
Morales, him and his family were sweet and his kids became good friends with Carl, he was strong minded and knew what he was doing out there.
T-Dog, a muscular guy, a bulldog when it came to fighting, a massive sweetheart though.
Finally, Merle, fucking Merle Dixon, who didn't need to be described, in everyone's eyes, he was threat to the people more than the walkers. His drug addiction made him short tempered and a pain in the ass, his thick southern accident made him hard to understand, but people tended not to listen to him anyway.
While she was waiting Theo slowly made her way over to the two tents that stayed out of the way and in the back, far from everyone else.
She waited for a while, making sure that it was abandoned and no one was around. After knowing it wasn't, she unzipped the orange tent and threw in the pile of bolts she had made, she knew he was either using them or throwing them away as the previous pile was always gone.
She quickly dropped them off and zipped the tent back up before walking back to the tent.
It was peaceful around the camp until the radio became static, followed by a voice.
"Come in..." it cracked, making everyone in the camp gather around.
It was so hard to tell what they were saying, and who was even talking. All campers got from that was that they were stuck and in trouble.
Theo reacted quickly, grabbing her gun and began to walk over to the other spare car that they had, ready to go and help.
"Where the hell do you think you are going?" Shane yelled at the girl, making everyone in the camp look over in her direction.
"They need help, I am going to help," She told him, as if it wasn't obvious. Shane wasn't a good guy towards Theo, their background being the reason for Theo being like she was.
"You ain't going nowhere, none of us are, we can't risk losing even more people." Shane demanded before grabbing her arm tightly.
"They are in trouble" Theo resorted, again stating the obvious. "We have 6 people out there, we need to help them!"
"No. You aren't leaving this camp, don't wanna get that pretty face hurt now will we?" He whispered, making sure no one else was listening as he grabbed her arm tightly.
She let out a small growl in disgust at him.
"Let 'er go!" a voice yelled from behind in the tree, revealing another camp member.
Everyone's eyes followed the direction of the voice, there they turned to see Daryl, Merle's younger brother, holding a rabbit over his shoulder, causing Shane to stare him down before letting go.
Theo took the opportunity to quickly walk away from him.
"Your boyfriends a douche" Theo reminded her mother on her way past as she went out for a short walk.
"Not too far, if i can't see you, I am sending people after you" Dale yelled from on top of his RV.
Theo stuck her thumb up continuing out.
An hour or so had passed when the sound of a vehicle parked up near the entrance of the camp.
Theo had slowly walked over to see everyone gathered, followed by Carl running towards the group of people that had returned.
The 6 had become 7, meaning a new member
Theo was slow to notice, but that new member was wearing a sheriff's uniform.
Her face was working out, but she hadn't even noticed the strangers face.
That feeling of overwhelming emotion hit her like a brick wall, her chest felt heavy but it felt like relief.
"Dad?" She questioned as her eyes began to well with tears, the shine in her eyes was easily noticeable.
Everyone turned to look at her already running, she moved as quick as her feet would physically allow her too.
He let go of Carl and ran to her next, she began to pick up her pace and jumped into her father's arms. Him lifting her up and hugging tightly.
"You're okay?" he cried stroking her hair. She was washed over with so many emotions, happiness, excitement but also anger towards Shane, he lied, all this time he had the family believe that Rick was dead, and their family of 4 had become 3.
Theo turned to look at Lori, she had shock in her eyes, followed by a very guilty looking Shane.
"You're alive?" Theo reminded herself, the feeling in her chest was like no other she had ever felt.
Her father was alive.
"I'm here" he whispered kissing his daughters head
They hugged as a family for the first time in what felt like years to Theo.
"You are all okay?" Her dad repeated.
Theo had never felt relief like it.
She became complete once again, her heart had been put back together...
