-breaking point-

Today, the plan for the group was to introduce those unfamiliar with weapons and be taught how to use them with some target practice, Shane and Rick teaching everyone in the group.

Theo, however, wasn't going.

Theo, however, had a different plan. She was determined to learn to use Daryl's crossbow, a testament to her respect for him and her determination to master the weapon, but also a way to talk to him about the argument they had that previous night.

Due to an injury, Daryl stayed at the farm and could not join everyone for target practice.

Theo walked over to Daryl; he stood up as quickly as possible once he noticed her.

"Hey," he said awkwardly.

"Come with me and bring your crossbow," She snapped without even looking in his direction.

So he did; he followed her towards the woods, away from the others.

She found a place where there were a lot of trees but also had a few walkers lurking.

"What are we doing?" he asked her, confused about what they were doing in the middle of nowhere.

"You're going to teach me to use your crossbow," She said firmly, not wanting to argue.

"Okay, only if you forgive me," he asked, making her raise an eyebrow.

"I haven't heard a sorry yet, " She said, crossing her arms.

"I'm sorry, and I truly mean it," he said, nodding at Theo.

She tilted her head and thought about it.

"Fine, but I'll make sure to punch you in the face next time," she warned, pointing her finger sternly at him.

"Deal, but there won't be a next time", he confidently said, winking at her.

"For the sake of your face, you had better make that promise," she winked back.

"I promise," he said, holding out his pinky.

She grabbed his pinky, which led him to stick out his elbow.

She gave him a confused look.

He bumped her elbow with his, then held out his fist, which she bashed with hers.

"See, now we have a handshake", he smiled childishly.

"And I am now 12 again," She smiled back.

"Okay, I'll show you first", Daryl said, loading up the crossbow. He aimed it at a walker that was previously far away, but now much closer; he pulled the trigger and killed it straight away.

"These are called bolts, not arrows; they are smaller, which makes them lighter," he explained, making everything look so easy."

Another walker appeared.

"So, reload," he said, handing her the crossbow.

She reloaded it and struggled for a moment but got it in soon after.

"Take off the safe", he reminded, so she did. "Then aim and shoot" just like that.

Theo looked down at the crossbow and tried to aim the bolt with the walker, but she missed.

Daryl quickly killed the walker before it could get too close before propping it against a tree.

"Okay, close", he explained while walking behind her. She reloaded and held it back to eye level, struggling shortly due to the weight.

"Don't forget to breathe, and don't overthink. Move your side this way," Daryl explained while moving her waist so she was at more of an angle. "Take a breath..." he told her as he approached her, hand never leaving her waist. "And shoot", he whispered into her ear.

She pulled the trigger again, this time the bolt going straight through the walker's head.

Theo smiled before turning around. Daryl was a lot closer than she realised.

"How was that?" She asked, looking up at him through her lashes.

He smirked down at her before nodding

"Damn good," He admitted, actually impressed.

It was an awkward moment before Theo cleared her throat.

"You think I could hit it with my knife if I tried?" She asked Daryl.

"Go for it," he told her, walking away slightly.

She grabbed her knife and, without stopping, she threw it straight at the dead walker.

She hit it straight in the head.

"Holy shit" Daryl smiled impressively.

"I told them," Theo began. "About the baby," she cleared as she looked at her feet.

"How did that go?" he asked, collecting his bolts as she grabbed her knife

"Better than I thought it would" She smiled, wiping off her weapon on a cloth to remove all the blood.

"Yesterday, when I was out on my own, I was hallucinating Merle; that's why I was in a bad mood. I shouldn't have snapped at you; I am sorry," he explained to the blonde.

"I thought you were dead" Theo sadly looked up at him.

He sighed sadly at her.

"I'm not going anywhere; it's gonna take more than a bullet to take me out" He slightly laughed as she rolled her eyes.

She walked over to him and wrapped her arms around his torso, and he responded by wrapping his arms around her.

He held her head closely to his chest, resting his own on hers.

They stayed like that for a moment before she pulled back.

Theo was about to say something when Daryl kissed her—completely knocking out her breath.

This time, she wasn't dreaming.

She took a second to respond before she kissed him back and brought his neck closer; deepening the kiss, he laid his hand on her hips, helping Theo balance as she had to go on her toes due to the height difference between them.

The kiss lasted a lot longer than Daryl believed it would.

He didn't want it to stop, and neither did she.

Daryl pulled back, looking her in the eyes.

His eyes were shocked by the actions before.

"I shouldn't have-" he began, but Theo interrupted him

"No, I'm glad you did" " she admitted, still close to him.

"Why?"

"Because I had been waiting for you to do that for a while" She smiled, making him blush slightly.

She swiped her tongue over her lips before smiling.

"Don't tell your dad," he suddenly worried. Daryl knew if Rick found out, he wouldn't be happy.

"I won't. I think it would be better if no one found out. Just keep it between us. I'm fed up with the camp knowing everything," Theo suggested. It was true; everyone knew pretty much everything about everyone.

"Sounds good," he smiled, placing another quick kiss on her lips before they returned to the camp.

"Carl seems to be doing better", Daryl began, looking over to see the others back.

"Yeah, he's healing." She smiled, looking at her brother, who was now up on his feet, laughing and being himself again.

"I forgot..." Daryl began as they walked up to his tent. He ran in before stepping back out with Theo's bat.

"You kept it", she smiled.

"When you fainted, you dropped it; I knew you would be pissed if I had just left it" Daryl smiled, handing over her favourite weapon.

"Thank you", she smiled, putting it in her tent.

"How about you? How are you feeling?" she asked as they returned to the others.

"Alright, Andrea apologised to me this morning."

"I told her to stand down; she didn't listen," Theo told him angrily.

"Don't worry, she won't do it again", he smiled, shoving her slightly

"Yeah, or else I'll have to shoot her" Theo laughed accidentally

They returned to the others, sitting down and grabbing food, when Theo saw her dad looking angry.

Very angry.

"Dad?" She asked, looking at him as he walked away.

But he ignored her and continued back to his tent.

She looked to see her mum in tears.

She ran over to her.

"You told him?" she asked, looking at her worried.

"I told him everything," Lori admitted. "Everything?" Lori repeated and cried, "He knows you knew, but he isn't angry at you."

"Things are about to get intense, aren't they?" Theo wondered, looking around at everyone at the farm.

"He will keep his cool around Shane for Carl's sake but won't bite his tongue for long."

Theo nodded, knowing that everything was coming out now.

Theo looked back at Daryl, watching.

"Things will get better," She told her.

She nodded, walking off in the direction of her dad.

Theo walked back and joined the rest of the group. She sat between Daryl and Glenn, eating their food in silence.

Daryl passed Theo a plate of food; she smiled gratefully.

"So, did everyone do okay at target practice?" Dale asked the group.

Theo looked up to see Andrea smirking at Shane; she ignored it as Carl spoke up.

"It was perfect", he smiled

"How do you find it kiddo?" Theo asked, proud of her brother.

"Cool," he was pleased. "Did you do any shooting today?" he asked his sister.

"Daryl taught me to use the crossbow," She told him

"Cool, did you do well?" he asked.

"She did well, but she is better with throwing knives," Daryl explained to the young boy.

"What about you?" Theo asked Andrea

"Yeah, it was good," she said weirdly, looking at Shane again.

Theo watched closely; ugh, she was flirting.

"How is everyone who is injured feeling?" Theo asked, looking around the group

"Better" T-Dog answered

"Alright" Daryl responded quietly

"Fantastic!" Carl yelled, making the group all laugh.

"What about you guys fighting last night?" Carol asked Daryl and Theo.

"I said some stuff I shouldn't have, but we are okay now", Daryl answered for them.

"You pulled her ponytail too hard?" Shane asked, sitting beside Andrea, causing her to laugh, but no one else. She bites, you know," Shane continued.

"What are you trying to say, Shane?" Theo asked calmly; everyone was watching intently

"Oh, he's joking", Andrea butted in, but she didn't have a clue what was going on.

"Didn't ask you", Theo snapped without looking away from Shane

"You know I'm playing princess," he smirked, taking a bite of his food.

Again, Daryl's blood boiled.

"You better stop calling her that," Daryl yelled, causing everyone to look in his direction.

Including Theo, she looked over worried; her eyes darted between Daryl, whose eyes hadn't left Shane, and Glenn's, who looked concerned.

"Why's that, Daryl?" he asked, standing up, causing Daryl to stand also.

"Alright, calm down", Glenn panicked; this wasn't the time or place.

"No, I wanna know, why should I stop calling her that? Daryl?" Shane wondered, getting closer and closer to him

"You know god damn why", Daryl angrily said under his breath, his hands now turned into fists.

"Shane, come on", Andrea tried to pull him away.

"I'm about done with you", Daryl stated, looking Shane dead in the eyes, wishing looks could kill.

"What are you going to do about it?" Shane asked, pushing him back slightly

Theo looked to notice Carl still watching.

"Dale, take him away," Theo asked as Dale removed Carl, Carol following.

"Come on, tough man", Shane pushed again.

"Enough," Theo said, stepping between them.

"Oh, come on, pri—" Shane was about to repeat it when Theo snapped. She turned to look at Shane before punching him straight in the jaw. It wasn't powerful enough to knock him to the floor, but it surprised him.

"Stop fucking calling me that" She spoke sternly.

"Son of a", Shane began, but she stopped him again by letting Daryl send another punch, knocking him to the floor and gently pushing Theo behind him as he did so.

Everyone was beginning to argue, trying to stop what was happening; Rick had made his way over and pushed Daryl away, so while they were distracted, Theo stood over Shane.

"What now, princess?" he asked, a cocky smile on his face

Theo snarled her lip at him before grabbing the gun tucked in her belt and pointing at him, making sure the safety was off and the hammer was back; all she had to do was pull the trigger, and a lifetime of pain would be over.

Everything around her went quiet, and Shanes's face went from cocky to scared in seconds.

"Theo" Rick said from behind her.

He was calmly walking to her.

"You don't know anything" Theo stopped him

"Theo..." Shane began

"Shut up!" Theo yelled. She felt like a bomb and would go off at any point.

She didn't know what she was doing, but her eyes never left Shane's.

"Theo, I know you are hurting, but not in front of Carl," Lori said from behind.

"You don't know anything," Theo repeated, her eyes not leaving the monster below her feet.

"Daryl?" Lori asked for help, but he looked away and continued watching Theo. He knew he wouldn't stop her but wished he could do it himself.

"Sweetheart, stop and think about what you are doing; this is not what we do; we don't kill the living; Shane is our friend" Rick was getting closer to his daughter, hopefully close enough to take the gun from her,

Theo's eyes began to water

"What the hell is going on out here!" Herschel yelled, making his way over to the group.

"Before he sees, we need him to like us, for him to let us stay; put the gun down", Rick panicked.

Theo stopped to look at her dad for a split second before she was tackled to the ground.

She hit the ground hard as she looked up to see Shane had grabbed her and then her gun before hiding it.

"Shane!" Rick yelled at his so-called best friend's attack.

Daryl watched Shane tackle Theo, which sent him flying towards Shane, responding by tackling him back.

Rick once again ripped the two apart as Glenn helped Theo up.

Theo looked at Glenn in shock, shocked that she just did that.

"Come on," Daryl said as he grabbed her waist gently and walked her back to their tents.

He had a bloody nose, and Theo's fall caused her to tear her skin at the elbows, only one being deep enough to bleed.

As they both sat down, Daryl began another fire, sitting beside her and cleaning her up.

"Did I just do that?" Theo asked Daryl in shock; she couldn't believe she had done that in front of everyone.

"I thought you were going to pull it", he admitted

"I wanted to"
