Chapter 21
Warning: this chapter may be a bit gory.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everything hurts...
There was pain, confusion, and utter fear. What did I know? I had to really rack my brain to remember, something I instantly regretted. I had been captured. Kidnapped. Again. The memory made me squirm with terror, allowing me to realize that I was bound. I was breathing hard, trying not to panic, even though I was on the brink of it. Daring not open my eyes yet, I tried to gather my surroundings by my other senses.
All that filled my nose was a strong, acidic smell of chemicals and fluids. An all too familiar smell, that made my eyes well up and burn. I could feel that I was laid flat, my entire body strapped down. Everything was aching, but the most pain was coming from my chest. Like it had been torn apart and put back together. I shuddered, hoping that was not the case. My upper left arm was also throbbing exponentially, and I immediately knew why. Even now, I could feel the sting of needles. I wanted to cry, knowing that whatever these people were putting in me could not be good. A sour taste was in my mouth, but for some reason, I found it soothing. I found a craving, a craving for more. I remembered my earlier craving for Energon and wondered if this was different. Or was the taste Energon? If so, how could I have gotten it?
My hearing came last. At first, all I could hear was a painful ringing, something to be expected. But slowly, other sounds began to flow into my ears, making me flinch and start to cry. The voices. The oh so familiar voices. They were here again. The commanding, instructing, devilish voices proved my worst fear.
I was in their hands again. They had kidnapped me again.
The question was, who? I still didn't know. Even the first time this had happened to me, I never knew their affiliation, their goals, where they were, what they were doing. Nothing. All I ever knew was that they were experimenting on me. Another thing I didn't know was why. I could only imagine whatever they had in store for me. But I knew this was worse. I knew that this time, it was different. For one thing, I could tell that they were going to finish what they had started. Finish their work on me.
And this time, their was no escape.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I could barely breath, it was so suffocating. I couldn't take much more of this or I would surely break. It was too much. Why? Why was this happening to me?
I must be imperfect, a voice whispered. I must be someone no one will ever love. Maybe I should just stay here so that they can finish it.
No, I couldn't. I had to get out. The scars, the pain, the fluids, the cold metal. I didn't want this! I had to be loved! I had to get out of here! I have to go, I have to go, I have to go, I have to go...
I stood up from the corner I was huddling in, and started to run. Suddenly, I was filled with angry determination, and nothing was getting in my way.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't remember how I escaped. When I tried to recall, all I saw was blood curling red. So I didn't look often, afraid of finding out. It was too terrifying.
Now, there was no way out. They had to have learned from their mistakes, and would never let me run free again. I wanted out so badly, I wanted to get home, but I knew I couldn't.
Home.
"I see you're awake," came a cold voice, one I remembered. One that sent chills up my entire body.
I dared open my eyes to look. It was the man, but this time I could see his face. His cold, horrible, scarred face. His eyes looked emotionless, other than greed and fury. His face was hard, cold and calculating, and covered in scars. Scars that marred him, made him look more terrifying. At first look I knew this man was crazy, but at the same time, he was a mad genius.
Terrifying.
"Ah, you're eyes are still the blue we hoped for," he said seriously, a smirk playing his lips. "I'm glad you have returned to us. Your escape last time was.. so unfortunate."
My lips parted to whimper, and I realized that this time, there was no gag. That meant that no matter how much I cried, no one would hear me. We were too far away for a gag to even be necessary. I wanted to close my eyes again, wish it all away, but I couldn't look away from his horrible gaze.
"Do you wish to know what we have in store for you?" the man asked, his eyes narrowing.
I couldn't help but nod. I had to know what these horrible things meant.
He nodded once, taking another step towards where I was laid. "You are one of the many soldiers we have acquired to become what we have always dreamed of."
"A-A what?" My voice was shaking tremendously.
"We are Mech," the man said. "And I am Silas. Our goal for you is to create the perfect meld of man and machine. I've had my eyes on you sine you were born, Taylor."
Another chill went through my entire being. Creepy.
"We have given you the tools for battle and combat, the eyes to see," he explained, though it wasn't much of an explanation. "But just before you.. left, we were having trouble finding the perfect fuel."
"F-Fuel?"
He nodded again, his smirk growing into a mad grin. "You see, while you have these things in you, they are not awakened. Nor can they be without a fuel to power them. While your human tanks are full, your engine tanks are empty. They have nothing to pump."
ENGINE TANKS?!
"We tried several oils and fluids on you," Silas continued. "All of which only worked for a short while, and the side affects were less than enjoyable."
I whimpered, wishing I could back away, but the straps kept me held down tight.
"However, my men recently stumbled upon a source unknown to this planet," he said, turning his back as he spoke. "One I can only guess is what fuels your robotic friends."
This time, I did close my eyes, trying to keep back the tears.
"And now your tanks are full, and your engines at their peak," he said, taking more steps. "This lovely surprise is exactly what I was looking for, and more."
I felt hands at my mouth, and opened my eyes in surprise to see a masked man prying my jaws open. Another approached with a vial of blue liquid. Energon. I wanted to scream as they poured it down my throat, forcing my to swallow, and closing my mouth forcefully.
"That was your second take," Silas said, grinning like a mad scientist. "Look at the results of your first."
Yet another masked man held out a screen to me, flickering to life a second later. This time, I did scream. The picture was myself lying on the berth, my stomach and chest surgically opened. Their was blood everywhere, but inside me, there was metal. How had I never noticed? My so called "tanks" were glowing a healthy blue. The next picture showed me that I had blasters, similar to those I had seen on the Autobots, which also glowed the Energon blue. Next was a blade in one hand. I couldn't scream any more at the pictures, just stare in horror.
"Now you are everything we dreamed of, and more," Silas told me greedily. "A few more adjustments, and you will be completed."
"Sir," said a man, appearing behind the leader. "One of the.. robots has discovered the location of this base, and is currently scowering the area. What do we do with it?"
Ratchet, I thought with horror. He had come to rescue me! Relieved tears welled into my eyes and fell down my cheeks.
Silas thought for a moment, before he turned to the man. "He will be the perfect test subject. Release her. Once he is dead, we can take his body. Who knows what we can learn from it?"
As the men started to release my bonds, a sickening feeling pitted my stomach. No I wasn't so happy that he had found me, that I was being released. They had some sort of plan, one where I was endangering my own guardian.
Ratchet, I thought. You have to go.
Even though I never really wanted him to leave.

Read and weep, peeps.
And be more prepared.
