chapter=37 I want to work(edited)

Peace can not be kept by force it can be kept by understanding.

Yumna:
He had really surprised me, but I knew he was a different person before we met, and now he is changed it was the weekend and on Monday or Tuesday. I had forgiven him a long time ago the first time he had asked for forgiveness, but since he did that, let him struggle to win my trust back. I get really excited whenever the month of Ramadan approaches because it is just so different from other months. Ramadan may begin next week, depending on the moon's sighting.

I should wake him up because he usually leaves early on Saturdays.

I thought it was only 7am, so I let him sleep, but it was 8am now, and he was supposed to be getting ready by now. "Ahad Ahad," I called him, but he was sound asleep even though his alarm went off.

"Please get up, Ahad. You are going to be late."He merely turned and moved, pulling his blanket nearer to him, in response to my arm shake.

Was he not going to work?

At last, he awoke and yawned as he sat up straight. "You have to wake up."

His gaze was fixed on me.

I took off his black pants and green shirt with black tie for him, and I unplugged his cell phone. I knew someone was observing, so I was only carrying out my wifely duties. "Mum and dad are waiting downstairs and you are already really late," I began, telling him only about work.

"I am not going to work," I heard him say. Wait, what?Did I hear him correctly?

"Have you forgotten?I am the CEO, so I can take time off whenever I want," he smirked.

Indeed, this man is going to drive me insane.

I told him to at least have breakfast because my parents were waiting for him. Then, after he had gone to the bathroom with his clothes, I started making the bed and folding the blanket.

"That dude barely gives a damn about his health—work matters to him more than anything else. At least he is engaged now, so he will take a few hours off for his fiancée," I said, tying my hijab and typing a message to my brother Imran asking about his health.

I was lost in my own thoughts until I noticed a smiling figure standing behind me in the mirror.

"So, have I earned forgiveness?"Wearing his Rolex watch, he asked me, and I just pretended not to hear him before making my way toward the door.

Immediately, I felt a hard chest push me back.

Now what?

He blocked my path and said, "We will not go downstairs until you tell me," so I had to look down.

I said to him, "I forgive you," but he was just staring at me as if he did not believe me.

He began, as if I were furious with him, "But...you said I have to win your trust and all that whatever you said."

"I know what you are going through, but you really hurt me. I trusted you without question even during our first meeting. I wanted to know you after we got married, and this is what I found out," I said, trying to tie his tie nicely, and he just hugged me.

"I promise to do everything in my power to earn your trust and believe in me," he began.

"Please refrain from making unfulfillable promises," I said gently, but all he did was stare at me until I averted my gaze.

"No ways!I just pushed him a little bit back, but he was so strong. "I am doing all my work at home this weekend because Ramadan is starting, and before that we have to spend some family time before I become busy with work during Ramadan," he said.

He smiled the whole time, never taking his eyes off of us, and I smiled back, too. "Okay, okey, relax let us go and have breakfast," he said.

I sincerely hope he will allow me to work and assist him only during the day.I will first talk to mum and dad when he is there also.

As it was a Saturday, we all sat down to omelets and pancakes for breakfast before deciding to buy some groceries to donate to the underprivileged people who frequent the mosque and those who come home every day.

I started, "Dad, I want to talk to you about something," and Ahad was staring at me. I hope he does not get upset with me.

"Yes, please just say that we will always be there for you if it is for your benefit and as long as your safety is there," he said. I was grateful to have such in-laws, and my mother gave me a nod in encouragement.

"Mum mhh dad please I want to work but during the day atleast half day,"I said slowly and looked at mum and dad but they seemed okey with it.

"What the hell? What makes you want to work?I snapped my head in his direction when I heard a frightful voice. Had he forgotten his parents were here?

"What made him so furious?"
