It was around eleven at night when Rosé heard a knocking on her door. She looked absolutely ridiculous in her piggy patterned pants, her brother's coffee stained shirt, a face mask on, and a curler in her bangs. Her first thought was that it was the pizza she had ordered to her room, so when she opened the door she did not expect to see Tom standing right in front of her door.

"Fucking hell!" Tom cursed as he stumbled against the wall. The sight of Rosé terrified him, especially at her current state. He clutched his chest as he tried to steady his racing heart. "Rosie, what the fuck are you wearing?"

Rosé rolled her eyes as she pointed to her face. Her face mask was slowly starting to dry causing her face to stiffen and it was only a matter of minutes before she could take it off. "An expensive face mask. What the fuck are you doing here?" Her tone of voice sounded robotic and Tom knew it was because she was trying not to use her face muscles.

Tom laughed at her naturally stoic expression as he walked inside her room. He flopped onto her bed and watch her return with a curious glint in her eyes. "We're going to go out for the night! We've been in Germany for weeks and not once have we explored the place so why not now?"

"Why do I feel like this is a terrible idea?"

Tom stood up from the bed and walked over to her. He plucked the curler out of her hair and peeled the face mask off her face. He scrunched his nose in disgust before he tossed it in the nearby trashcan. "Just get dress and then we'll start the night! Get ready for the best date of your life!"

She froze at his words, her face heated up at the excitement written on his expression. Did she hear him wrong? Did he say what she thought he said? No, this can't be it.

"Date?" Rosé asked him slowly as she watched his face for his reaction. Tom nodded confusedly, almost as if he didn't understand the significance of what he had just said. The actor placed his hand on top of her head, pushing her hair in front of her eyes. Absentmindedly he pushed her baby hairs away from her eyes. "Yeah Rosie, a friend date. Duh."

Rosé laughed it off, but her chest tightened at the way he brushed it off. Almost as if the mere idea of dating her is ridiculous. She told herself that she was going to move on, that she would be okay even if he didn't love her back. But why is it that the aching in her chest never decreases or the feeling of tears in her eyes return.

"I've never been on a friend date before."

"Then let me be your first, Rosie Girl."

Tom was so lucky that Rosé had her driver's license, and that her mother got her an international driver's license for Germany specifically. Normally he was just as prepared as his best friend, but he was curious about the idea of his best friend driving. After all, the last time he saw her face to face was when they were around twelve years old. And now look at them, both young adults and can do things like drive or buy liquor.

But he also learned another, Rosé's foul mouth gets even worse when she's driving. In fact, her cursing was so surprising to him that it made him feel like he was a child again hearing a bad word for the first time.

"I swear to God if he cuts me off the lane one more time I'm going to fucking honk and roll down my windows," she muttered under her breath as the red light forced them to stop. They were on their way to the Berlin Wall.

It was close to one in the morning and they both knew that by the time they returned they might regret this trip. But Tom knew that whatever tiredness that will strike him in the morning will soon dissipate as he looks back on this moment. His first ever trip with his best friend.

It was exciting to think of it this way. The two have always talked about going on vacation one day and there was always this joke that they'd both be famous and have enough money to go wherever they'd like. Of course, Germany was absolutely gorgeous, but the plan had always been Paris.

She never told him why she liked Paris. But he always swore to himself that he'd take her there one day. He even remembers the stupid promise he made when they were eleven and how he swore that when he was a world class actor he'd take her to Paris. And that promise was something he knew he had to fulfill.

"You know you never told me if you were okay," Tom pointed out as the light turned green. Rosé numbly nodded along as if she was paying attention. Hesitantly he took this as his sign to continue speaking. "I mean before we stopped talking and all there was that whole situation with your ex boyfriend and shit."

Rosé shrugged it off as if it didn't bother her, but he knew right off the bat that it was her attempt to shrug it off. He knew her better than anyone and she knew him just as well. "Not much to say honestly. He cheated on me, I cried for a week and ate my weight in Korean tofu stew. Nothing exciting really."

He calculated the time in his head. They had stopped talking almost half a year ago, right around the time when Rosé's last relationship had ended. He always hated whenever she got into a new relationship, mainly because they crashed and burned. All the guys she dated were the same; nice and sweet in the beginning and then bitter and harsh at the end. Tom never understood why she always got the bad end of every relationship.

And this is the girl who wanted love more than anyone else. You know how in school they asked you what you want to be when you grow up? Kids always answer doctor or singer or teacher, but not Rosé. She said she wanted to be a mother.

"What about Seth?" He doesn't like the guy sure, and maybe it's because of his protectiveness over his best friend after her failed relationships. But if Rosé trusts him then he suppose that the guy isn't all too bad. "You don't like him?"

Rosé scoffs out of disbelief, a humorous snort leaving her. She glanced at him briefly before her eyes returned to the road ahead of them. "Of course I like him, as a best friend. He's sweet, perfect, but, I don't know I don't think I deserve that niceness. I mean he's so perfect and I'm so flawed."

"That's not the best friend I know. I mean what happened to that confident girl who once boasted for a week that she finished a whole large pizza by herself," Tom joked. He always felt uncomfortable whenever Rosé spoke badly about herself, and maybe it's because he knows that none of the things she says are true. She is amazing, actually no, more than amazing.

"Well that girl is also a person filled with insecurities," she mumbled under her breath. He knew that was something he wasn't meant to hear, but he did, and it broke his heart to hear such sadness in her tone of voice.

And maybe it hurts him even more because of how much he cares for her. But deep down he knew it was because of guilt that it hurts him even more. The guilt that he had left his best friend to suffer without him by her side.

You can't prevent pain no matter how hard you try. Pain is meant to be felt, it's meant to shatter your insides and slur your breathing, but it wasn't meant to be shared. Because pain is only for that one person and maybe it's so cynical to think that way, but pain can't be shared. And all Tom wants right now is to share the pain Rosé feels, to lessen the load on her shoulders.

      But he can't.

It was close to three in the morning, but it didn't feel like it. The two were high off of adrenaline and intoxicated by the quietness of the streets. They had visited the Berlin Wall and were driving away until they had reached an outside bar.

Tom didn't mind a drink, but Rosé loved alcohol and that's fine. If only his best friend wasn't a light weight. He can't count the countless amount of times where she'd call him intoxicated and talk about absolute nonsense. Once, she even called him and spoke to him in Korean and he had to just sit there and act like he knew what she was talking about.

"You sure you don't want a pint?" he asked as he referred to the bar. Tom nudged her side and smirked once he saw the longing look in her eyes. "I can drive if you want, go have a few drinks."

Rosé shook her head, but she couldn't deny that she desperately wanted some beer. It has been a few weeks since she had last drank. The last was a few days after arriving in Berlin and immediately she went out with Chris, Seb, and Noah for a few drinks. Time in Atlanta wasn't bad, but she couldn't lie that she didn't miss her alcoholic beverages.

"Nah, it's fine. And let's be honest it won't stop at just a pint," she grinned mischievously before she wiggled her eyebrows and nudged his side. He laughed at the stupid grin on her face as she settled her hands on her hips, her eyes still remaining on the bar. "Plus we have work tomorrow and the last thing I want to do is have a hangover whilst I pamper Lord Sebastian Stan as I help him."

Rosé huffed out a breath as she uncomfortably bounced her leg up and down. She took off her bag and handed it Tom who watched her quizzically. "I'm gonna go find a loo, but I'll back okay? Stay here," she ordered him as she pointed her finger at him. She jogged away from the outside bar leaving Tom alone.

But he didn't mind. As a matter of fact, it gave him the opportunity to talk to someone.

He's here, he's at the bar where Tom is, she thought to herself. She leaned against the wall of the pub. Right after she had finished her business she saw the message Theo had left her. Rosé knew he was in Germany, but she never thought she'd get the possibility to meet him. Should she lie and say that she was actually in Germany this whole time?

Then again it'd ruin the whole mystery of who is the author of Falling Dimensions. No one knows anything about her other than the fact that she's indeed Korean, a girl, and a lover of dogs. But Kelsey was different on the other hand. Everyone knew who she was, what she looks like, and her personal life. Her best friend wasn't scared of the world finding out who she is. Hell, her book isn't the only one that Kelsey provides music for. But unlike her, Kelsey wasn't afraid of being in the public eye.

"You're ridiculous Rosé," the Korean girl muttered to herself as she pushed herself off the wall. She began walking back to where Tom was waiting for her as she tried to release the thought of meeting her new online friend. "You don't even know the guy. Hell, how do you even know if he's a guy or not. Could be a girl."

But her curiosity was gnawing at her stomach with every step she took. Tom stood there as he texted on his phone, but quickly placed it away once he saw Rosé returning. He smiled at her return and handed her back her purse. "You good now?"

Rosé nodded as she took her bottom lip between her teeth. She searched past his shoulders and around her, hoping to catch a glimpse. Her looking didn't go unnoticed as Tom frowned at her, "Everything okay? Who are you looking for?"

"Um, have you seen a guy around?"

      "What kind of guy?"

"Just a guy. Have you seen someone walk by and take a photo of the bar?"

"No, no one's really come by. Why? A friend of yours is here?"

      "Something like that."
