two, chaos meets mischief
two
"yes, always and forever"
"Sister, you're finally here!" Lycus grins, lightly punching his sister's bare arm in a way that betrayed their earlier quarrel, though the bruise of her power still throbs in a petty reminder.
Lusine pushes him away forcefully, face purposefully sour.
"Get off me you childish oath," She says through ground teeth, acting annoyance, but the rapidness of it all sent the chaos inside of her rumbling with joy.
She smiles slightly; folding her hands together in front of her stomach and looking away from Lycus to where her two pure white wolves sit. They watch her intently as if waiting to see if they are required to protect her, young eyes dark and yet playful.
As if seeing her longing stare, Bulan's lips press thin before he finally says, "Yes, you can bring them, Lusine."
"You know I was going to bring them anyway." Lusine flashes him a wicked grin before looking back to her wolves. "Lieve, Lai, to my side," She calls out.
Immediately the wolves bound over to her, their brown eyes glimmering with the excitement that they often had when looking after Lusine. They'd rip down men and tear them to shreds if it meant Lusine's survival, take joy in the act. Savour the blood as it dripped from canines; lick it from their paws with pleasure.
"Now we leave for the throne room of Asgard!" King Bulan announces, spinning on his heels with his golden sceptre in his hand as he strides down the golden ramp. Lycus and Selene follow after him with arms linked together in a caring fashion.
Lusine walks behind them, black dress flowing out behind her, and a wolf at either side. The smirk on her lips and the glistening in her eyes were all as a result of knowing. Knowing what she was walking into and what she was going to cause.
She would do that the Goddess of Chaos did best; cause chaos. Would stand in the eye of the storm and laugh with a cackle to rival the witches of old with their boiled eyes, steaming broth and odd herbs.
"Lusine, hurry yourself up!" Lycus calls back, a teasing smirk on his face. But Lusine ignores him and carries on walking past him and her mother so that she may walk beside her father.
He glances to his side at her with a slight smile before returning his gaze to the front.
"Don't cause too much ruin," He says.
Lusine places a hand on his arm and taps her fingers rhythmically, without hidden code, before responding, "I won't father." She drops her hand from his arm, turning her eyes away from him to the grand gates of Asgard.
At the gate a guard stops them. "You can't bring those beasts in here," He says firmly. Lusine glances at her father before stepping forward towards the guard.
"Either you let me take my wolves in, or I tear off your limbs one by one and make you watch as they eat them," She hisses, the venom on her tongue did not seem to frighten the guard though.
"I am sorry, but you cannot take them in, My Lady," He persists.
Lusine looks back at her father, who does nothing, so she looks right back into the guards eyes. She smiles at him with a false kind of sweetness. Sugar of pretty little cakes, topped with red berries and chocolate.
Her eyes shine with a brighter kind of blue as she begins her enchantment. She lifts her hands up to either side of his face, warm hands on his cheeks. For a moment, he resists, but succumbs when his wild eyes meet her endless, hypnotising eyes. He breathes in sharply when she begins to talk with her sweet tongue.
"You want to let us in, don't you? I believe that you do," She says quietly, a thumb brushing over the hill of his cheekbone, right beneath his unblinking eyes.
When the guard begins to nod she releases his cheeks, but her magic remained to fill his veins with black treacle.
"Good." She brushes a hand over the white furred head of Lai. "Step aside," She commands, smiling as he does so without question. "Come on father, we have some royalty to meet."
Bulan sighs at his over dramatic daughter, but doesn't hesitate to loop their arms together as they walk to the throne room.
He knew what she was capable of, but he also knew that she was smart. He'd seen it on numerous occasions where she'd wound Lycus up like a toy soldier until he'd burst into rage. She knew what she was doing even when it appeared that he'd thrown her into the wall unexpectedly. Lusine was fuelled by chaos; every time Lycus gave into her little games she grew a little stronger and learned a little more, that force inside of her unannounced and yet prevalent.
"Allfather," Bulan says as he bows. Lusine bows her head beside her father. Out of the corner of her eye she sees her mother and Lycus do the same.
"We welcome you to Asgard." Odin's voice booms out. Lusine brushes a hand over Lieve's soft fur and rubs behind her ear. When she looks back up from her wolf she meets eyes with the God of Mischief himself, stood on the steps beside his brother Thor.
The slick of his black hair, the intensity of his green eyes, the dance of light on his pale skin. Nothing about him was outstanding. Another pretty face amongst many. Lusine turned her eyes away unimpressed by either of the brothers.
"We thank you for your hospitality," Selene says, smiling elegantly and eagerly as always. Lusine rolls her eyes at her mother's undying sweetness. "I am sure the Winter Ball will be splendid this year."
Seeing Lusine rolling her eyes at her mother, Loki smirks slightly. Lusine narrows her eyes at the smirking god; knowing that nothing good could ever come from his mischievous smile.
"Perhaps I'll even save your daughter a dance," Loki says loudly, his smirk growing wider and the glimmer in his eyes gaining a mischievous spark that set him apart from other faces in the crowd.
Lusine's lips press together as she looks the Prince up and down, reevaluating him with a new curiosity.
Her eyes land back on his as she replies, "Can the God of Mischief dance?" Her question causes her mother to gasp.
"I am sorry about my daughter, she cannot hold that sharp tongue of hers," Selene rushes to say.
"I can dance," Loki responds, ignoring Selene with a bluntness.
"Then save me that dance, Loki." Lusine spoke, her voice carrying its enchantment to the ears of all those in the room. Lycus looks at Lusine with narrowed eyes and his lips pressed tightly thin.
"Guards, please show the Volkov's to their chambers. I'm sure that they're most exhausted after their journey here." Odin gestures to one of the guards who nods his armoured head sternly. "We shall see you at the feast, I'm sure."
"Thank you," Selene nods her head, bowing slightly. Lycus bows his head too, nod looking away from his sister. Bulan and Lusine bow before they turn and follow the guard out of the throne room. Lycus grabs a hold of Lusine's arm and pulls her back to walk beside him.
He frowns at her heavily when she looks back over her shoulder with a devious look on her face at Loki, who returns it with a nod of the head. "What was that?" Lycus hisses quietly to her, gripping onto her arm tightly. His aggressiveness gains a growl from her wolves.
Lusine stops in her tracks and lightly pulls Lycus' hand off her arm as if he were nothing but an insect. "Do you really want to do this now?"
"Lusine."
"I don't think you do. Keep yourself to yourself, brother, and we won't have a problem," She says simply and shortly, with nothing more to say to Lycus.
With her damage done, she looks away from her brother and exits the throne room, feeling Loki's eyes burning into her back.

I really like her character and I would love to have pet wolves (or just very large dogs) like hers. I hope that this chapter showed how lycus is more like his mother but lusine is more like her father.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS <3
