"I told my Dad, about you, about everything. I told him everything."
Sairah smiled, it was a meaningless, forced, smile.
"It was this morning, before I got here actually, I went into his room. I ignored him when he told me to leave, I ignored him when he told me to be quiet. I spoke, no I shouted at him. I shouted everything."
Her hand, which she had just realised were holding onto Johns, tightened. Unshed tears threatened to fall but she prayed that they wouldn't.
"Before he could even reply, I ran out the house. John, I would be lying if I said that it didn't feel good shouting at him. For a split second, I felt free."
One by one, tears stained her cheeks and fell onto their intertwined hands. In a haste, she quickly wiped her cheeks and shoved both of her hands in her woolly sweater pockets.
"Only for a split second."
Right now she felt like the devil himself had tied an anchor to her ankles and it was only dragging her down.
