"I'll be your secret. I promise."

I heard an alarm blaring. "What?" I asked looking around till my eyes slowly opened to the sound of an alarm clock.

Oh yeah after I got a drink I passed Dan in the hallway. I could tell that he wanted to talk but I knew my heart couldn't take it. That's all that I actually remember.  I wish I had the courage to tell him that I can't be with him. That my brother is more important in my life than a chance. I recalled my dream and I blushed bright red! "It was just a dream! A dream," I repeated embarrassed. After about 20 min of me debating whether to stay in bed to eat breakfast; I slumped out of bed and looked in the mirror. "(Y/n)," Phil called as he knocked on my door. "What? I asked picking up my hairbrush. "We're going to mum and dad's for breakfast," he said through the door. "Ok I'll be a minute," I called back.

(Phil's Prov)

"Ok," I called back before returning to the kitchen to get a cup of coffee. I wonder how she slept. I hope I didn't overwhelm her last night. I sighed stirring the cream into my coffee. "It's not like I'm a bad person; I love her and I can't loose her... or Dan," I thought reaching for the sugar. "Morning," yawned Dan sleepily strolling in. "But early for you isn't it?" I joked pointing to the clock. It was 9am. "Hey I don't always eat breakfast at noon. Sometimes I stay awake all night and eat early so you think I'm normal," he joked, but the bags under his eyes told me he wasn't. "I guess I forgot how Dan would handle the situation. Forced to live with a girl he can't have," I thought as I watched him struggle with the cereal box. "I'm ready," called (Y/n) as she strolled into the kitchen looking beautiful as always, but as soon as Dan saw her he looked straight back to his cereal. "Morning Dan," she said casually. "Morning," he said back.

"Let's get going," I smiled. "Ok let me get my shoes," she said quickly. "Ok," I replied before finishing off my coffee. "Hey just so you know I'm cool with the whole 'not dating your sister' thing. We're friends and I'll never jeopardize that," Dan whispered so she couldn't hear. "Thank you so much," I gasped. I was caught off guard. "Yeah were best friends after all," he chuckled and I did too. We high-fived and I joined (Y/n) who was waiting by the door.

(Y/n Pov)

We caught a cab, and we sat in silence till I sighed. "You ok," he asked. "Yeah just tired. I didn't sleep well last night," I smiled. "Oh was it because of what I said," he said sadly. "No it's  not that. I know you said those things out of love. I know you don't want to hurt Dan or I but you can't stop feelings if they happen," I said with a soft smile. "I know, but I had to try. I know how hard breakups can be. I guess I tried to hard to protect you," he said sadly and I saw a tear roll down his cheek. I summed up all my courage and I hugged him which caught him by surprise, but he hugged back. "I love you Phil," I whispered. "I love you too (Y/n)," he whispered back. "No matter what happens I'll always be in your life," I smiled and he nodded.

"I'm glad you came into my life," he whispered and I hugged him back. The taxi stopped and he slowly let go. "Thank you Philly. I'm lucky I'm in yours," I smiled. I've gained a life long brother. I love him with all my heart and I know I made the right choice.
