the meeting

A/N Lemme just say that this will probably be very long / in multiple parts. But seriously, this is so long.

Onto the story.

Toothless was exploring the forest, when he caught the scent of an unknown dragon. He approaches carefully, watching her every move.

"Who are you?" she asked.

"I'm Toothless," he responded. "And you are?"

"Lila," she said. "What are you doing here?"

"Exploring. What are you doing by the pond?"

"Just thirsty."

"Well, I am too." He leans town and takes a few laps from the pond.

"What's your name?" she asks.

"Like I said, my name is Toothless," he says, tilting his head.

"Oh, sorry," she says, clearly a little embarrased. "I have trouble remembering things. As soon as I focus on something else the memory is just gone."

Toothless looks a little disappointed that he had to remind her so soon. "What's your name?" he asks expectantly, wanting to see if she remembers telling him that.

"Lila," she responds. "I feel like I've told you before," she says, her voice puzzled.

"Can I ask you another question?"

"Of course."

"What are you doing all the way out here in the woods?" he asks.

"I live here," she says with a smile.

"How do you... cope? Being alone? It must be so difficult," he frowns.

"The Voices help," she responds plainly. "You don't have them?"

Toothless' ears drop. Is this dragon... hallucinating? "Voices?" he asks, sounding mildly concerned.

"They're in my head," she explains. "Constantly talking. They're nice to me, so I'm never alone."

Toothless takes a few steps back, looking worried, almost scared. "You... hear things?"

Lila's posture looks slumped, defeated. "Everyone reacts like that. That's why the Voices are my only friends."

Toothless decides to be different. "The Voices are your friends? But are they... nice to you?"

"Yes," she responds, looking relieved that he didn't run. "I've had them for almost as long as I can remember."

"So... they've never... told you to do bad things?" he asks, still cautious.

"No," she says. "They just remember different things. Sometimes they help me remember names or places."

Toothless seems relieved that the Voices are nothing sinister. "They... remember things? Are they like a memory for you?"

"Sort of," she answers. "Maybe they're the reason for me having trouble remembering things. But they seem to like you, since I can remember your name."

"Really?" he asks, sounding relieved and happy.

"Yes." She frowns slightly. "Your name is Toothless, right?"

"Yes it is." He pauses. "It's good to hear that the Voices care about me... in a sense. I was afraid I may have upset them by talking to you." He pauses again. "What do they say about me?"

Lila's quiet for some time, then responds slowly. "They say you're nice, because you didn't run away. Everyone else did, when I told them about the Voices. So they were afraid I would be alone because of them."

Ok I ran out of screenshots. You get more tomorrow.
