Chapter 83: Deaf Buds a request by LeoValdeze
(I'm sorry this is so short and if this sucks Leo, I at least hope you liked it.)
Peter being fluent in sign language has never come across a deaf person. But if he ever did he would love to have a conversation with them. Today was that day, except Peter didn't know that. He was sitting in the living room reading a book,
When Tony, Nat, Steve, and a man with dirty blonde hair walked in. They said hello but Peter noticed in the corner of his eye the man with the dirty blonde hair was waving his hands around.
Why is he waving his hands around? He thought.
Peter set his book down and looked at the man and Natasha when he did he finally noticed they were signing. He knew Natasha wasn't deaf so it must be the man who is! "Nat, who are you signing to?" He asked.
"Oh, Peter this is my friend Clint, Clint this is Peter Parker." She introduced while signing.
"Hello Peter." Clint signed.
Peter put his skills to the test and decided to talk to Clint while making everyone shocked at the same time. "Hi Clint! Nice to meet you!" He signed.
Clint's eyes went wide, how old was this kid? And where did he learn to sign? A million questions were raised. Everyone watched as Peter signed and were shocked, Clint finally had someone else to communicate with besides Nat.
He smiled, "Nice to meet you too Peter, where'd you learn to sign?" Clint asked.
"Oh I learned at my school, I took an American Sign Language course for a semester." Peter answered.
Clint chuckled silently, "That's cool! I finally can talk to someone other than Nat."
"I'm right here!" Nat exclaimed.
"Oh I know, how do you know the team?" Clint asked.
"Oh I'm an intern for Mr. Stark at Stark Industries." Peter replied.
"Alright, but what about everyone else?"
"Well I just met them through Mr. Stark."
"Okay, why haven't I seen you before?"
Nat sassed, "Maybe it's because you're in the vents all the time."
Peter laughed as Natasha smiled, "I'll have you know the vents are better than interacting with people." Clint defended.
"I agree!" Tony shouted from the kitchen, Peter looked towards him and rolled his eyes playfully speaking up.
"Mr. Stark you're always in lab to the point Ms. Potts has to drag you out and into the sunlight, before you become a vampire." He said.
Tony nodded his head, "Eh true."
Peter turned back to Clint and they continued talking about things from missions to Clint's farm he has with his wife Laura and three kids. Clint was happy to finally see a young kid talk to him the way he communicates with everyone else.
It was new and refreshing and he really liked it, most of the time people don't believe he's actually deaf and it frustrates him because everyone is different.
They can be blind, autistic, in a wheelchair, all of the above but that doesn't mean they are capable or that it's okay for others to discriminate against them.
They are people who are the same as you, yet you decide to pick on them when they've done nothing wrong. Clint hopes that Peter's generation is able to experience more and not be kept in a bubble.
