Peter Parker and Ned Leeds, fifth graders in chemistry class, with chemicals to make an experiment, how bad could that get? It went very wrong, but let's start from the beginning shall we? Peter and Ned were sitting down in their classroom having the most important discussion of their lives. Two words: Star Wars.

"Empire Strikes Back is easily the best." Peter said.

"Nooo I disagree! New Hope is the best!" Ned argued.

"You're both wrong, Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part One and Part Two, are the best. They top Star Wars by a thousand percent." Michelle, Peter and Ned's other best friend said.

"Oh yeah, those are good!" They were snapped out of their conversation with the teacher getting them to pay attention. What Peter didn't know was that this was where he and Ned were doomed from the beginning. Their teacher gave instructions on how to make a mini elephant toothpaste experiment.

They had all the supplies, and were following the instructions exactly how they were supposed to. Now, this is where it gets... interesting. Ned forgot one of the ingredients, so he asked Mr. Sinclair if he could get it. Mr. Sinclair agreed, and Ned grabbed the ingredient he and Peter needed.

Once he got it, he went back to his seat but bumped into Flash on the way. He apologized and went back to Peter and then they began finishing up the project. But Peter noticed something was off, he looked at all of the things needed for the experiment. "Ned, are you sure we did this right?" He asked.

Ned reassured his friend, "Positive, we've been following the directions exactly the way we're supposed to."

The concoction started to bubble up, "Ned... I don't think it's supposed to do that."

"Do what?" And before they knew it, the liquid exploded everywhere, and not in the way it needed to. Soon Peter and Ned were covered in the mess of chemicals, and their teacher gave them a stern look. One that read they were definitely in huge trouble. Peter groaned. May and Ben were certainly not going to be happy about this.

And here the kids were, sitting in the principal's office, getting in trouble for their chemistry mishap. Peter dreaded the awkward silence as he and Ned sat in their seats, hanging their heads low. They double checked the ingredients, heck they triple checked them. So how did this happen? Ned must've grabbed the wrong thing, but he said he got the ingredient missing from their table.

The more their gears turned, the more confused both kids became. There was a knock at the door, it opened and there were Ned's parents, and Peter's aunt and uncle. The two kids were still messy, the belongings of their experiment were all over their clothes and in their hair.

Soon Peter and Ned said goodbye and Peter was off with his aunt and uncle, driving in the car it was silent. Peter was afraid, he came to the conclusion that he'd be grounded for two weeks based on the fact May hadn't exploded in rage.

"Okay kiddo, explain to us exactly what happened, we just want to hear what happened from you." Ben said.

Peter sniffled, as tears started falling from his eyes, "N.. Ned and I had a project, but w- we were missing an ingredient, so he asked M.. Mr. Sinclair if he could get it, he got it but it was the wrong one and it exploded in our faces." He explained.

"I.. I'm sorry aunt May, I didn't mean for our project to make a mess, I'm sorry." Peter apologized, May looked at the boy, reaching for his hand, rubbing it in reassurance.

"It's alright sweetie, I promise I'm not mad, it's not yours or Ned's fault. Next time, be careful okay?" Peter nodded his head in response.

Once they got home May reheated some leftovers and they ate them and watched Star Wars to cheer their nephew up, the next day May and Ben got a call from the school, telling them that Eugene Thompson had admitted (after Mr. Sinclair questioned him) to switching the ingredients for Peter and Ned's project.

Both Peter and Ned were relieved to know it wasn't their fault, of course Flash got detention and had to apologize to the other boys. Either way, they're happy they didn't get suspended.
