"Right," Hiccup nods, using his magnifying glass to get a closer look as he adjusts a screw.
Astrid walks over, making (Y/N) grin before she starts mixing more of Toothless' scales into a bowl.

"Hmm. I'm guessing you two haven't slept," Astrid speaks, looking over the blueprints with her hands on her hips.

"Yeah, well... that Light Fury won't let us within a mile of her," Hiccup replies, continuing to adjust the tail.

Toothless scratches behind his ear, shedding more scales. Astrid picks them up, walking over to the table.

"And none of us will be getting any sleep or get to finding the Hidden World until Toothless takes over." Hiccup replies, Toothless eagerly rushing over and shoving him to look over the tail.

"What do you think?" (Y/N) questions with a grin, Toothless happily snorting and huffing.
"Yeah," Hiccup laughs, shoving his face away with a grunt.

"You guys tried this once before," Astrid comments, "He didn't want it." She tosses the scales she picked up into the bowl as (Y/N) crushes them, handing it to Hiccup.

"Well, until now he didn't have a reason to.
Right, bud?" Hiccup's voice wavers slightly, looking over Toothless.

He grins back, Toothless spitting inside the bowl as Hiccup continues mixing it while wiping left over spit off his hand.

Astrid lets out a small laugh, quickly stopping herself.

"What?" (Y/N) chuckles, wiping the tail fin and looking it over. "Nothing! I'm..I'm impressed," she replies, gesturing to the tail-fin. "I mean, look at you two! Embracing change. I'm proud of you."

"They deserve it.." (Y/N) mumbles with a sigh, looking to the dragons with a small smile.

"They're our best buds," Hiccup agrees with a light shrug, grinding the scales.

(Y/N) smiles with a nod, picking up a paint brush and painting the fin with the black paint.

"Besides, it's only until they bring them back." Hiccup finishes nonchalantly, shrugging as he leans up and kisses (Y/N)'s temple gently.

He picks up the finished tail-fin, walking to Toothless as Astrid and (Y/N) watch him with deep frowns.

"All right," Hiccup grins, opening the tail-fin in front of Gobber.

"Fire when ready!"

Toothless fires a shot as Gobber screams.
(Y/N) and (D/N) watch with wide eyes as Hiccup slowly closes the fin with a cringe, his face twisting at the sight of Gobbers face.

"Well," Gobber turns around, his moustache on fire. "I guess you know the tail is fireproof." He licks his fingers, putting the small fire out.

"Okay, Toothless!"

(D/N) grunts with a roar of as Toothless rams into him, rushing to Hiccup.

"Okay, okay, yes! I know, I know!" Hiccup laughs as Toothless races around him in excitement, smacking Gobber with his tail.

(Y/N) clicks her tongue several times, (D/N)'s ears peeking up at the call, he jumps to his feet and jogs over to her, his tail swishing behind him rapidly.

Hiccup shushes Toothless with a chuckle. "I know!" He laughs, sitting on the back of his tail as Toothless purrs. His tail wags, making Hiccup grunt as he tries to put the tail-fin on.

"Please, this is not helping."

"Well, well, well! Someone's excited," Eret laughs, walking nearby carrying two logs of lumber. "They're both fresh off their first dates!" Hiccup replies, adjusting the tail-fin as (Y/N) walks over with a nod.

"Their in love! They can't help themselves!" She chuckles, Hiccup pausing his movements and looking to her with a grin.

"I can relate.." he mumbles, (Y/N)'s eyes widening and face becoming warm at the comment.

She scoffs, reaching down and tapping her fist against Hiccup's head affectionately with a small laugh.

Gobber grumbles, hammering his new hook. "The sooner they bring back that Light Fury and Woolly Howl, the better."

"Yeah, but to do that he'll need to fly without me." Hiccup sits up, looking over the tail with a nod. "So, time to give this new and improved baby a shot." He grunts as he rises, Toothless sniffing at the tail with a purr.

"What do ya think, (D/N)? Pretty sharp huh?"

"It's perfect." (Y/N) complements, Hiccup nodding to her in thanks with a shy smile. Toothless fans his tail fins together, in full control of both.

"What do you think, bud?" Hiccup smiles, watching Toothless sway his tail around as he looks at the tail-fin. "Bring her home." He imitates Stoick, "By sundown at the latest!"

Toothless purrs, nuzzling into Hiccup and licking his cheek as Hiccup groans. "No! Save it for your girlfriend!" He laughs, shoving him away as Toothless hugs him. "Go on! Get out of here!"

(D/N) coos, rubbing his head against Hiccup's foot in thanks. He sits up, looking to (Y/N) with wide eyes, uncertain. She smiles kindly, her expression soft as she kneels down and cups his cheeks.

She pecks his forehead gently before rubbing his neck with a gentle smile, her voice soft. "Be safe.." she mumbles, kissing his cheek before rising and stepping back.

(D/N) nods with a determined grin, rising and rushing after Toothless.

Both skid to a stop, looking back as (Y/N) joins Hiccup's side. He wraps his arm around her shoulders as she wraps hers around his waist with a grin.

Toothless groans meekly, (D/N)'s ears flickering back as he reluctantly takes another step into the woods before facing them with a sad roar.

"It's okay," Hiccup says after a moment,
nodding. "You've got this." (Y/N) tries, (D/N) smiling with perked ears. Toothless grunts in excitement, and the two roar at each other.

They start running off, bumping into eachother before their bodies disappear behind the large trees, blending in with the forest.

(Y/N)'s grin falls after a moment, sighing deeply as she rubs her eyes. Hiccup looks to her, squeezing her shoulder before they both turn, gasping and stopping in their tracks.

Gobber, Eret, Astrid and a few others watch with concerned expressions, looking to eachother and mumbling in uncertainty. They quickly go back to what they were doing when Hiccup raised a brow, sighing and looking away.

"So..wanna go swimming?" (Y/N) offers after a moment, Hiccup's brows rising as he looks to her. "Swimming?" He chuckles, his arms falling and wrapping around her waist.

"I saw a nice little clearing with a lake.." she mumbles, reaching over and poking his cheek with a playful grin.

"Could be good to cool off." She says, Hiccup's pupils dilating at the thought. He nods eagerly, (Y/N) grinning wide as they both disappear into the forest, laughing and leaving behind a very confused village.

...

Valka and (M/N) fly through the dark fog, Vritra squawking as Cloudjumper rumbles with squinted eyes.

"Looks all clear.." (M/N) mumbles, her brows furrowed as Valka shakes her head slowly. Valka gasps, Vritra managing to avoid the top of a ship with Cloudjumper.

(M/N) breathes out with wide eyes, looking at dozens of trapper ships. Valka looks around with wide eyes, her gaze landing on Grimmel's flying..thing?

"Watch out!" Valka warns, a Deathgripper swooping next to them and ramming into Cloudjumper. Vritra roars, nipping at it and sinking her teeth into its leg.

Cloudjumper uses this distraction to throw him into the other Deathgripper, panting heavily.

"Let's go!"

Vritra and Cloudjumper swiftly fly away, the Deathgrippers pursuing them before coming to a halt as a whistle rings out.

...

(D/N) looks around with perked ears, looking to the clouds with a small chitter. Toothless lets out a roar, startling (D/N) for a moment before he relaxes with a huff.

Toothless roars once more, sighing with a sad rumble and a disappointed expression.

He perks up when he sees his shadow, mistaking it for the Light Fury. (D/N) flies through it, making Toothless deflate with a whine.

(D/N)'s head jerks to the right when he hears an explosion in the distance, sounding through the air. He calls over to Toothless, who perks up with a roar as he quickly follows after his friend.

Toothless slows down with a small rumble when he sees the Woolly Howl fly over some clouds, gracefully swooping down towards
(D/N).

The Howl happily coos in greeting, (D/N) smiling and coming to a stop.

He flies closer to her, pressing his face into her neck with a rumble. She chitters happily, nuzzling into him before moving away.

...

Toothless tilts his head, looking around before slowly flying towards them. He sniffs the air, slowly before grunting happily when he notices the Light Fury flying up to meet him through the clouds.

They fly past (D/N) and the Howl, circling around as Toothless admires the Light Fury in awe. She looks at his tail, making him twirl before showing it off.

The Light Fury coos, twirling over him and flying off as he quickly follows, happily rumbling after her.

The Woolly Howl looks around, smiling before flying around (D/N) quickly and disappearing into the clouds, flying after her friend as (D/N) swiftly follows after.

...

Toothless follows the Light Fury into a rainless storm, thunder bellowing and lightning flashing. The Light Fury coos, firing a blast and flying through it, vanishing quickly.

...

The Howl flies out of the clouds, flying over
(D/N) with a playful purr as he looks around, confused.

His ear flickers, making her shriek as he looks up, his eyes widening as they stare at eachother, their pupils dilating as they continued to stare.

(D/N) shakes his head, grinning happily as he looks forward, gesturing with his head as the Howl flies down, joining his side and chittering.

...

The Light Fury appears, calling over to Toothless with a grin. He smiles, firing a blast and flying into it while scrunching up his face. He looks around in confusion when he doesn't vanish, huffing.

He tries it again, groaning when he fails a second time.

...

The Howl leads (D/N) into a storm, her wings shining as lighting flashes greatly. (D/N) grins, flying sideways and ramming into her side playfully.

The Howl's eyes widen as she looks to him,
(D/N)'s grin slowly falling before roaring as she rams into him, harder this time with a happy roar.

...

The Light Fury watches Toothless, making him glance at her before grunting, his eyes pulled down with a glare.

He roars louder, his body pulling up as lighting crawls around his back and his wings, connecting to him like veins.

He shrieks, lightning flashing as he vanishes.

...

(D/N) roars, flying ahead a few feet with startled grunts as he looks around frantically.
The Woolly Howl purrs, joining his side and gaining his attention.

He looks around, sighing in relief as Toothless reappears.

...

Toothless burps a fireball, groaning as he starts to fall from the sky. The Light Fury whinnies, stabling him as he shakes himself from his daze.

The two fly upward and out of the storm, circling around one another in front of the moon, their bodies curving around as their foreheads nearly touched.

...

(D/N) smiles up at them, looking down at the Woolly Howl and rumbling for her to follow him as he leads her out of the clouds.

They swiftly emerge, their backs pressed together as they slowly fly up before stopping. (D/N) turns around first, the Howl following after as they stare into eachothers eyes.

The Howl leans forward, (D/N) copying as they meet in the middle, they're for heads touching as the stars sparkle behind them.

...

Toothless licks the Light Fury's forehead, startling her for a moment. Both fall backwards, spiraling around one another before the Light Fury notices her friend.

She calls over to her, making the Howl look back before perking up with a grunt. (D/N) narrows his eyes, tilting his head in confusion as the Howl urges him to follow her as they fly after the Light Fury and Toothless.

The Fury's look at one another as she flies closer, the two touching wings as they sore across the ocean. Toothless coos happily, smiling uncontrollably.

(D/N) sniffs at the air, his ears perked as he snorts softly. He looks towards the wall of mist, squinting to see as the Howl rumbles encouragingly.

Water rumbles, the faint sound of a waterfall becoming louder as the four fly closer to it.

Toothless questionably roars, the Light Fury purring back before swooping under him, grabbing his paws and diving down with him.

(D/N) roars in alarm, hovering over the entrance as the Howl looks to him, chittering softly, trying to calm him.

The Howl looks to him before roaring softly, she nods, her ears drooping as she dives, her body blending in with the water.

(D/N) watches her after a moment, rumbling in confusion before looking to the sky, the stars reflecting in his eyes.

He breaths deep, his eyes closing tight as he dives, his body quickly succumbing to the freezing water.

And it went dark.
