As we drived back to our original home, good old school, we passed by the plush shop, and it was burning flames.
"Oh no! Look! All the plushies will die!" I said, feeling sadness fill me as I imagined the cute fluffy plushies being burned down.
We stoped to look.ย
I felt small teras tracing my face.
"Hey it's ok, Bambi. Don't be sad. They are all going to teddy bear heaven, ok?" Hyunjin said, hugging me.
I nodded, but the weight in my heart was still there. Then, unexpectedly, Hyunjin pulled out a little plushie from his backpack. It was a cute, fluffy bunny with big ears.
"I saved this little one when we came here on the way to the camp. I thought you might like it," he said, offering it to me with a shy smile.
I gasped, taking the bunny in my hands. "Oh my god! It's so cute! Thank you, Hyunjin!" I hugged it tightly, feeling a bit of joy return to my heart.
"See? You've got a new friend," he said, a playful glint in his eyes.
"Okay, guys, we should head back," Lee Know suggested, glancing at the darkening sky. "We don't want to get caught out here without a plan."
I took a deep breath, holding my bunny close. "Yeah, let's go home."
As we retraced our steps back to our motorbikes, I couldn't help but smile at the thought of my new plushie. "We'll name him Mr. Fluffykins!" I announced, and the boys couldn't help but chuckle.
"Mr. Fluffykins? Seriously?" Han teased, his laughter brightening the somber mood.
"Yes! He's a fluffy bunny, and he needs a fluffy name!" I replied, my heart feeling lighter.
"Okay, okay, Mr. Fluffykins it is!" Jeongin laughed, nudging my shoulder playfully.
And just like that, the darkness of the situation faded a bit. We may not have found the camp we were looking for, but we had each other, and that was enough.
The ride back was filled with laughter and playful banter. I felt the wind in my hair, and for a moment, I forgot all about the zombies, the empty camp, and the burning plushie shop.
"Hey, Haewon, do you want to take Mr. Fluffykins with you on the bike?" Hyunjin asked, a teasing smile on his face.
"Of course! He needs to see the world!" I replied, holding the bunny up as if introducing him to the skies.
We drove through the deserted roads, the sun setting behind us, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange. My heart was still heavy, but with every laugh and every silly moment shared, I felt a little bit stronger.
Once we returned to our shelter, I knew we had a lot to discuss and plan. But for now, I could hold onto my bunny and the warmth of my friends around me, and that made all the difference.
"It's almost 3:30am. We should sleep." Felix said.ย
" Yeah, we'll head to our room. Sleep well, sweet dreams." Chan said and kissed us on the forehead.
"Night Binnie. Night Chan" I smiled
We showered and changed. I huddled up to Hyunjin, feeling the warmth of his body.
"I love you Daffy." I smiled, hugging my duck plushie.
"I love you too" Hyunjin said.
"Stop being delusional. I'm talking to Daffy the plush duck! I laughed.
"Hey! I'm Daffy too. And I'm original." he whined.
"Yeah, sure. I love you too, though. Maybe not as much as Daffy the duck. But almost" I smiled
He chuckled and held me tighter and kissed my cheeks.ย
"Good night" he said
"Good night" I replied.ย
I woke up to the sound of loud voices echoing down the hallway, something about bacon. Rubbing my eyes, I got up and quickly showered, curious about the commotion in the kitchen. When I walked in, the scene before me was chaotic.
"Don't put bacon on the eggs! I don't like it!" Hyunjin shouted, glaring at Han, who was standing over the frying pan with a smirk.
"Then don't eat it, you brat!" Han shot back, rolling his eyes as he flipped the eggs with expert precision.
"Just put it on yours if you like it that much. We're sharing these eggs, not just yours!" Hyunjin's tone shifted from irritation to a more whiny protest.
"Morning!" I called out, hoping to interrupt before things escalated further.
"Oh, hey!" Hyunjin turned, his face lighting up instantly. "Do you want bacon on your eggs?" He grinned, acting like he hadn't just been in a shouting match with Han moments ago.
"Sure!" I chuckled, taking a seat beside Seungmin, who was sipping his drink, looking unfazed by the noise.
"We should go exploring today. I'm so happy we're back here. I like it," Felix chimed in, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
"I like it too," Seungmin added with a small smile, taking another bite of his toast.
"Yep, we could visit that arcade you guys checked out last time," I suggested. "Felix said some of the games were still working, so we could play a bit and then head south. We haven't explored there yet."
"Here," Hyunjin said, holding out a plate with toast and eggs, a genuine smile on his face.
"Thanks!" I grinned, my heart warming at his thoughtfulness.
After a quick breakfast filled with playful banter and laughter, we all got ready to head out. The sun was bright, casting a warm glow as we made our way through the neighborhood.
"The arcade is that way!" Felix pointed down a familiar street, leading the way with his usual energy.
We hadn't walked far when we spotted someone in the distanceโa lone figure standing near an old bus stop. It was a girl, her silhouette outlined against the morning sun.
"Oh! Look! A girl! Over there!" I said, excitement bubbling in my chest as I pointed towards her.
"Yeah, you're right. Let's go talk to her," Changbin agreed, curiosity evident in his tone.
"What if she's hostile?" Han said, his voice low with a hint of caution.
"Nah, let's check it out," Felix said confidently, already striding toward her.
The group followed, the air charged with anticipation as we approached the girl standing by the cracked, weathered bus stop. She looked up, noticing us, her expression a mix of surprise and wariness.
The closer we got, the more apparent it became just how breathtaking this girl was. Standing under the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves, she looked like she had stepped out of a dream. Her large icy blue eyes, almost feline in shape, though rather round annd inoccent, glistened with curiosity and wariness as she noticed our approach. Her astonishing long, shiny black hair moved with the light breeze.ย
Hyunjin's steps faltered for a second, as if the sight of her had momentarily stunned him. The others exchanged glances, clearly taken aback by her appearance. I could see a mix of awe and intrigue passing through each of their expressions. Even Lee Know, who usually kept his feelings hidden behind a mask of indifference, seemed momentarily intrigued, his gaze softening as he took in her presence.
The girl was dressed in a pajama set adorned with delicate flowers, the fabric hugging her slender figure and bite sized, tiny waist. Her arms were bare, revealing smooth, pale skin that seemed to glow in the morning light. The shorts were short, leaving her long legs exposed, and on her feet were a pair of fluffy, blue shark slippers that added an almost comical touch to her otherwise flawless, goddess like appearance. She looked truly like a fantasy character, the literal definition of too perfect to be true.
"Hey, are you okay?" I called out, my voice breaking the spell that seemed to have held everyone in silence.
She blinked, then seemed to realize how revealing her attire was. A faint flush rose to her cheeks, and she instinctively crossed her arms over her chest, shifting nervously from one foot to the other.
"IโI'm fine," she said, her voice as delicate and melodic as she looked. There was a small pause before she added, "I didn't expect to see anyone else here."
Hyunjin stepped forward, a friendly smile breaking across his face. "Well, you're in luck. We're friendly," he joked, earning a few chuckles from the others.
"Are you alone?" Lee Know asked, his tone more serious, eyes scanning the surroundings for any potential threats.
"Yes. I... didn't really have time to think when everything happened," she admitted, the blush deepening on her cheeks. "I stayed home since all of this started, but I accidentally caught my house on fire, and... well, this is what I managed to leave in." she giggled a little, her smile so radiant and breathtaking that it could be mistaken by the sun.
The boys' expressions shifted from surprise to sympathy.
Felix's bright smile reappeared. "Well, you found us now. What's your name?"
She looked at each of us, her gaze lingering on Hyunjin for just a heartbeat before she replied, "My name's Luna."
