TWO: STELLA SALVATORE & KAI PARKER

Stella wasn't one to judge a person without knowing their story. Even when Kai attacked everyone at the wedding, she could see there was something bothering him, something making him sad and angry. So, after a few days, they both talked. Kai told him his whole life story from the beginning, how his family shunned him for being a siphoner and not a full-on witch. How he murdered most of his family because of it. "You think I'm a monster, don't you?" he asked. He watched carefully and waited for her answer. "No. At least not back then" the heretic stopped. "I know what it's like to be different" she began. "My father and mother were part of the coven of the elementals. My mother was fire and my father was water. It was odd because they were both so opposite but they managed to fall in love" Stella smiled, remembering the many times her parents told her the story.
"When I was born, my mother told me she and my father cried of happiness and excitement, they had been trying for years. I was a normal kid, well, as normal as I could be" Kai sat there, listening to her talk. "Then, training began. It was time to learn what kind of Elemental I was. It was either between water and fire" she said. "Which one were you?" Kai asked. "I was both" she replied. "Oh! That's exciting!" he replied happily. She gave him a weak smile. "It was a first. Until they found out I could control not only fire and water but the other three. Air, Earth, and Ice, which was a rare one and had only happened once. They told me I would bring an end to our coven. They tried to kill me many times. I had two aunts and three uncles. Five people died for me, believing I was worth saving. Then, others joined. Believing I was blessed for having the power to control all that he elements. I mean, I had never hurt anyone, you know? I was just born with extra powers. Powers that I didn't ask for" Kai sat quietly. He understood what it was like.
Kai Parker had finally met someone who knew what it was like, to be different. To be hated for not being what others wanted him to be. "My father was the one who hated me the most" he began. "I mean, other elders did too. But that didn't matter to me because they weren't anything to me, you know?" he asked and she nodded. "But, he was my father. The person who's supposed to love and protect me. Instead, he shunned me, called me a monster, an abomination" he said the last part quietly. Stella walked over to the heretic and sat next to him. For a second she watched him and then, she held his hand. Kai began to cry. "Why is water oozing out of my eyeballs? It's like I'm some alien creature extracting fluids" he stated making the blonde girl laugh. "You mean why are you crying?" she asked with an amused look. "It's that what it's called?" he asked and she nodded.
Stella Carter has always been a forgiving person. She always saw the good in everyone. She couldn't help it, it was in her nature and that was her greatest weakness. She believed everyone was worth saving, especially if that someone had been mistreated. She believed Kai Parker could've been a better person if his family had accepted him the way he was. If they had understood that it wasn't his fault he was a siphoner. "I think... I think you're worth saving, Malachia Parker" she whispered. And for the first time, Kai Parker finally felt like he belonged.
