The chill of winter was creeping closer, and the pressure was on to prepare. XueLing, who religiously visited the new cave each day to ensure it was being crafted exactly to XiShi's liking, reported that the renovations were progressing well. FengXiu, who accompanied him on these daily checks, agreed, saying that a few more days of dedicated work would see the project completed before the true bite of winter arrived. It was quite the undertaking, akin to a full house renovation. XueLing was diligently constructing ten separate rooms, a spacious living area, an enormous kitchen, and a large underground storage cellar to safeguard all the supplies needed for the winter months. He was, indeed, already hard at work. To support the effort, FengXiu was tirelessly making trips to the markets to procure the necessary materials, while some of the feather tribe members, under XueLing's direction, lent their hands to help expedite the construction, ensuring that the work could get done quickly.
It had been almost a week since the chaotic events that had shaken their lives, and a significant change had occurred. HaoYue had fully recovered, now back to his peak health. Upon waking, he expressed feeling lighter and incredibly well physically—a phenomenon XiShi couldn't quite understand, but the return of her mate's health brought her immense joy. He started accompanying XueLing after he woke up and FengXiu could rest....for reasons that XueLing and HaoYue understood completely.....poor guy was the only one who had yet to bond and mate with XiShi....
Things seemed to be returning to a semblance of normalcy. HanYing, however, had yet to make an appearance, which was rather unlike him. He had stated firmly that he would only put in the effort to help HaoYue recover if he was truly serious about their relationship, and his absence further emphasized his devotion.
XiShi was currently enjoying a relaxed moment in the living room, engrossed in a conversation with FengXiu, catching up on everything that had transpired. As they chatted, it became clear the day was not just for casual conversations; they had a date planned.
HuanHuan had repeatedly approached XiShi to offer her apologies, to which XiShi responded with polite smiles, pretending everything was alright. However, despite her forgiving demeanor, she kept her distance and didn't engage her in lengthy conversations.
"Are you ready to go!" FengXiu's voice cut through her thoughts.
"Yes!" XiShi replied, her eyes shining. In her heart, she felt an unwavering resolve. No matter what life threw their way, she was determined to move forward, to nurture her bonds with her males. Their happiness and health were paramount. She loved them all deeply, and was determined not to let a single incident disrupt the harmonious and loving life that they had built together.
