The rest of the day had gone by in a blur, leaving you and Jennie on your way back home. She had dragged you to a few more stores, but you had insisted on stopping at the grocery store (the only practical stop the whole day) to pick up some groceries instead of going to another retail store.
Jennie holds the door for your apartment building open for you, letting you in first before following pursuit. The both of you have arms full with bags, most of it clothes. Only two of the bags are groceries and practical items.
It only takes a few minutes before you and Jennie are back in the apartment; you set the bags in your arms down on the couch, taking the grocery bags into the kitchen to unload food items. While you're doing so, Jennie meanders over, snaking her arms around your waist, resting her chin on your shoulder. "You want any help?"
You can't help but let a small smile grow on your lips, but you don't look up at her. "You can help if you want, but you really don't need--"
The sound of rustling bags surprises you, so you turn around to see Jennie shuffling through bags, pulling groceries out. You furrow your brows; you hadn't felt her pull away, and from the looks of it, she knows where everything went. She begins putting spices into the cupboard where you kept your spices, putting everything where it went. It pricks your curiosity; how does she know where everything goes? Even though it was only a small thing, it confuses you.
Shrugging off the weird feeling, you finish putting the groceries in your bag away, Jennie soon doing the same. You stuff the paper bags in the spot next to the fridge, knowing you would use them in the future for recycle bags.
You turn around to face Jennie, leaning against the counter. "So, you said you wanted to go out tonight. What time are you thinking?"
"Well," she says, a small but mischievous smile on her lips, "I don't want to give too much away, but I'm bringing you out to dinner, so then some time after that."
You cock an eyebrow lightly, a small smile pulling at the corners of your lips. "Dinner, huh?" At Jennie's nod, you continue. "Do I get to know where?"
"Not until we're there already." Jennie's voice has a slightly teasing tone to it, causing you to chuckle lightly before pushing yourself off of the counter.
"Well," you begin, walking over to her, "it's already almost six."
"Which means we should get you ready."
