Chapter 5

As Chan landed softly on the rooftop of his house, the city lights twinkling like diamonds below, he let out a deep yawn, the weariness of the night's events finally catching up with him. He reached up and gently removed his deep blue mask, revealing the chiseled features of his face, his eyes gleaming with a soft, exhausted light. With a quiet click, he pressed the center of his chest, and a small, hidden panel slid open, courtesy of Tony Stark's ingenious design. A soft hum filled the air as the suit's systems powered down, and Chan stepped into the chimney, the familiar sensation of the suit's gravitational stabilizers kicking in as he descended into his studio.

As he emerged into the dimly lit space, Chan let out a soft sigh, feeling the weight of the night's adventures slowly lifting off his shoulders. He carefully laid his Spider King suit on a nearby chair, the intricate web-patterns on the suit's arms and legs seeming to shimmer in the soft light. With a quiet groan, he made his way to his bed, feeling his muscles ease into the softness of the mattress as he settled in.

But his respite was short-lived. Just as he closed his eyes, the blaring of the alarm system shattered the silence, and Chan shot up in bed, his eyes snapping open with a mix of tiredness and alarm. "Oh, stars above, help me so I don't burn those villains to the ground," he muttered to himself, already throwing off the covers and swinging his legs over the side of the bed.

With a swift motion, he suited up, the familiar sensation of the suit's systems powering up around him a comforting balm to his frazzled nerves. He quickly dialed Seungmin's number, and the other boy's worried voice crackled over the comms system. "Seungmin, what happened?" Chan asked, his voice laced with concern, as he helped the muscular boy down to the floor.

Seungmin's face was a mess, his mask askew, and a faint smudge of blood on his lip. Chan's eyes narrowed, his grip on Seungmin's arm tightening as he took in the sight. "That thing is still in there," Seungmin breathed out, his chest heaving with exertion.

Just then, a low, husky voice cut through the air, and Chan's eyes flicked up to see Black Cat sauntering into the room, a sly smile playing on her lips. "Really, Spider King? I thought you and your team were tougher and stronger than the Avengers. I mean, you just debuted a year ago, and here you are, bleeding like a kid." She chuckled, a low, throaty sound, and held up a small vial in her paws.

Chan's eyes blazed with a fierce intensity as he glared at Black Cat, his voice dripping with venom. "We are strong enough to confront a thief of your caliber, Black Cat," he snarled, his words laced with a quiet confidence that sent a shiver down Black Cat's spine. With a swift motion, he extended his claws, the sharp tips glinting in the dim light of the studio.

Black Cat's eyes widened beneath her feline mask, a flicker of surprise dancing across her face. "Since when does Spider-Man have claws?" she growled, her voice low and menacing, as she secured a vial to her belt and lunged at Spider King with a fluid motion.

But Spider King was no ordinary hero. With a swift dodge, he sidestepped Black Cat's attack, his agility and quick reflexes allowing him to evade her strike by mere inches. As he countered, his claws flashed in the light, leaving a sharp scratch on Black Cat's gear.

Black Cat's eyes narrowed, her gaze flashing with anger, as she took in the sight of the scratch. "You're not Spider-Man," she spat, her voice dripping with venom. "Who are you, then?"

Chan's response was a low, menacing growl, his eyes gleaming with a fierce intensity. "I am Spider King," he declared, his voice echoing through the studio like a challenge. The air seemed to vibrate with tension as the two enemies faced off, their eyes locked in a fierce stare-down.

For a moment, the only sound was the soft hum of the studio's systems, and the heavy breathing of the two combatants. Then, without warning, Black Cat sprang into action, her movements a blur of speed and agility as she launched herself at Spider King once more. The battle was far from over, and Spider King was ready to take on the challenge.

The sudden appearance of Spider-Man's white webbing materializing between Spider King and Black Cat was like a splash of cold water, momentarily freezing the two enemies in place. Spider-Man himself swung down, his eyes twinkling with a mischievous glint as he landed between the two, his hands on his hips in a pose of mock authority.

"Now, now, there's no reason for you to be out here," he remarked, his voice dripping with a playful tone that belied the tension in the air. He turned to Spider King, his eyes narrowing slightly as he asked, "Why is Black Cat in your house?"

Spider King's response was a low, rumbling growl, his voice like thunder on a summer day. "Spidey, perhaps you should head home; it's too late for you to be out, and I have no idea why she is here." The words were laced with a subtle warning, a hint of protectiveness that Spider-Man picked up on immediately.

But Spider-Man was not one to be deterred. He took a step back, his eyes flashing with a hint of indignation as he exclaimed, "Hey, don't tell me I'm too young; I'm almost 18!" His voice was tinged with a whiny tone, a protest against being treated like a kid.

Spider King's response was a dry, rolling of his eyes beneath his mask. "Sure you are, kid," he drawled, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "But keep your distance. She's in my house with malevolent intentions, and I intend to deal with her." The words were a clear warning, a signal to Spider-Man to stay out of the way and let the Spider King handle things.

But Spider-Man's eyes sparkled with a mischievous glint, a hint that he was not about to back down. He took a step forward, his eyes locked on Black Cat, and said, "I'm not going anywhere. I've got your back, Spider King." The words were a clear declaration of loyalty, a signal that Spider-Man was ready to stand by the Spider King's side and face whatever dangers lay ahead.

Spider King let out a deep sigh, his eyes locking with Seungmin's in a silent understanding. Seungmin nodded, his face set in a determined expression, and crawled back, holding his stomach where the wound from Black Cat's claw was still bleeding. "Go on, hyung. I'll be in your studio," he said, his voice weak but resolute.

With a final glance at his injured friend, Spider King turned back to the standoff, his eyes flashing with a fierce intensity. "Keep up, then, Spidey," he said, his voice low and menacing, as he leaped forward, a burst of orange webbing shooting out from his wrists.

The webbing ensnared Black Cat, pinning her to the ground, but she was far from defeated. She let out a furious snarl, her sharp claws flashing in the dim light as she struggled to break free. Spider King landed a series of swift kicks and punches, but Black Cat was a skilled fighter, and she managed to dodge and weave around his attacks with ease.

Spider-Man watched in awe as the two enemies clashed, their movements a blur of speed and agility. He took a step forward, his eyes locked on Black Cat, his fists clenched and ready to strike. But Spider King was a force to be reckoned with, and he seemed to be holding his own against the cunning thief.

As the battle raged on, Spider King's webbing proved to be a game-changer. Black Cat's claws may have been sharp, but they couldn't cut through the sticky webbing, and she found herself trapped, unable to escape. Spider King took advantage of the situation, landing a series of swift kicks and punches that sent Black Cat crashing to the ground.

But just as it seemed like the fight was over, Black Cat let out a sudden laugh, her eyes glinting with a mischievous spark. "You may have won this round, Spider King," she said, her voice dripping with malice, "but I'll be back, and next time, you won't be so lucky." With that, she vanished into thin air, leaving Spider King and Spider-Man staring at each other in confusion.

"Did you know she could do that?" Spider-Man asked, his eyes wide with surprise as he stared at the spot where Black Cat had vanished. Spider King cursed under his breath as he rushed over to the spot, his eyes scanning the ground for any sign of what had happened.

That's when he saw it - the vial that Black Cat had been holding earlier. It was lying on the ground, empty and harmless-looking. But Spider King's eyes narrowed behind his mask as he picked it up, his mind racing with the implications.

"No," he said, his voice low and grim. "But we better get this back to Horizon. I think this is what she was stealing."

Spider-Man's eyes widened as he realized the significance of the vial. "You think it's one of the serums?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Spider King's expression was grim. "I'm sure of it," he said. "And if Black Cat has gotten her hands on it, we need to act fast. We can't let her use it for her own purposes."

Without another word, Spider King turned and leaped into action, swinging off into the night with Spider-Man close behind. They knew they had to get the vial back to Horizon as quickly as possible, and they were determined to stop Black Cat from using it to wreak havoc on the city.

As they swung through the streets, Spider King's mind was racing with thoughts of the serum and what it could do. He knew that it was a powerful tool, one that could be used for good or evil. And he was determined to make sure that it didn't fall into the wrong hands.

But as they approached the Horizon labs, Spider King's spider-sense began to tingle. Something was off, and he couldn't shake the feeling that they were walking into a trap. He exchanged a wary glance with Spider-Man, and together they crept forward, ready to face whatever dangers lay ahead.
