𝐈𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐀𝐍 𝐄𝐗𝐇𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 past couple days for the brunette Intern. She had to scrubb in on very different surgeries, not to mention the amount of Mark Sloan she had to deal with when she had to be in plastics because of Izzie's probation.

The brunette was currently carefully sipping on her second cup of coffee while she watched Izzie making her french toasts.

They were having breakfast in comfortable silence before George suddenly walked into the kitchen, whistling a melodie.

George's eyes widened as soon as he closed the refrigerator and his eyes landed on the blank spot between all the other notes.

"Izzie! The—the—the—the check—it's not, uh— it's not— did you drop it? Here, move, move! Did you—" the man quickly went onto his knees and crawled over the kitchen floor, searching for the piece of paper.

The man's hysterical voice reached Brianna from the ground, "It's not here! Izzie! It's not here!"

"I deposited it, ok?", Izzie told him simply while she continued making the toasts. Suddenly George's head snapped up, "You didn't deposit it in the garbage disposal or something like that did you?"

Izzie shot him a pointed glare, "It's at the bank! Okay, George? Now just shut up about it already!"

George jumeod onto his feet and quickly spun her around to him, "It's at the bank? It's earning interest?"

The blond gave him a questioning look, "Did I not just say shut up about it already?" The relief was visible on his face, "Izzie! It's real now! That momey— that money could travel. It could buy things. It could buy many, many, many things. That's a— it's a lor of money, Izzie!"

Brie rolled with her eyes while she leaned onto the counter, "I think she knows that."

"Yeah, shut up about it, George!" Izzie now screamed into his face. He gave her a sympathetic look before his rambling went on, "I'm just saying. I'm just saying, life is short. You know, it's like, cancer happens and surgery happens, and, you know—just—just— gather ye rosebuds— you know you have 8.7 million rosebuds, Izzie!"

Suddenly he hit his towel against the woman's shoulder, "You got to spend rosebuds! That's what I'm saying!"

Brianna held her breath while she watched how Izzie scrunched up her face and seemed like it took everything in her to not scream at him right now.

Instead her gaze wandered down towards her toast in the pan and she sighed, "You made me burn my french toast."

He hit her again with the towel, "You can buy new french toast!"

The blond immediately spun on her heel and left the kitchen, while George took over and now stuffed a piece of burned french toast into his mouth.

His eyes met Brianna's and he smiled widely at her, the brunette on the other hand didn't move a single muscle in her face while she started at him. "If that had been my french toast, I would've killed you."

With that she grabbed her bow of cereal and made her way upstairs into her room, getting ready for work as quickly as she could.

Getting to work there wasn't much to do, so the most exciting things she could do at the moment was standing next to Izzie, Cristina and Meredith, while watching Meredith's father speaking to someone at the phone.

"How am I related to that man?", Meredith suddenly questioned them curiously.

Cristina gave her a irretated glance, "What do you mean?"

They all continued watching how he suddenly spilled his coffee all over himself, "Look at him. He's a mess."

"Yeah—"

Meredith seemed deep in her own thoughts while she spoke, "I mean, he's a disaster. A stammering, mumbling, clumsy disaster with whom I have absolutely nothing in common. Not one thing."

Izzie suddenly chuckled amused, "I hate to break this to you—" She gave Meredith a knowing look.

The dark blond seemed confused at her statement, "What?"

Cristina shrugged before she answered her, "Well, you know, you do your own share of stammering yourself."

Brie bit into her apple while she nodded her ahead, "Yeah, that nervous talking thing you do, it's actually a lot like him."

Meredith gave them a glare, "No, it's not."

"Plus that messy thing." Cristina suddenly also added.

"Totally."

Meredith seemed like she didn't like that answer at all, "You're the messy one!" She gave Cristina a side look.

"No, no, no. My apartment's messy. My locker's messy. But I am not messy", the dark haired woman immediately made clear while she pointed at herself.

"Sometimes you have, like, food and stuff in your hair", she then stated and Izzie immediately agreed. "Yeah, food. Band-Aids on your face. I can still kinda see that indentation from the nose strip you were wearing last night."

The three were suddenly leaning very close to Meredith, eyeing the indentation from the nose strip interested.

Meredith seemed taken back by that before she shot back, "You are in a relationship with no words!" She gave Cristina a glare before she went on with Izzy. "And you are a millionaire in 20 dollar shoes!"

She then went on and looked at Brie, Meredith went silent, "— you're a hot single woman without any man in sight! Whatever!"

Meredith them stormed off and Izzie and Cristina exchange a look with Brie.

Brie shrugged at them, and smirked,  "I'm not offended, she called me hot."

Cristina shrugged agreeing at her before they turned back to Meredith's father, who was now biting into his paper coffee cup to hold it.

Cristina's eyes immediately widened in amazement, "Oh my god! She's just like him!"

Izzie smiled amused, "Right!?" Suddenly her pager went off and Izzie excused herself from the other two Interns.

Cristina and Brianna remained there a couple of more minutes before Cristina and Brianna had to visit their patients that they were put with for today.

In that afternoon there was a big surgery scheduled and everyone was going to be watching from the gallery.

Brie had been there early to get a good seat and the other's were already there.

The brunette had just settled down in her seat when George suddenly entered the room.

Alex was the first one to address him, "Hey, how's your old man?" George immediately replied while he settled down next to Izzie, "His Urin output's holding steady. Mostly it's steady today, which is good."

Cristina suddenly leaned forward and glanced at George, a worried look on her face, "Have you seen Burke today?"

George leaned forward as well, "Even if I did like you, I still wouldn't tell you that." He immediately leaned back in his seat.

Brianna who was sat in-between Alex and Izzie heard Izzie's voice, "How can you he okay with Burke, but not Cristina?"

George's answer was simple, "Her career wasn't on the line when she lied to me."

She then suddenly heard Alex voice from the other side, "So you're together, but you don't talk to each other?"

Cristina nodded, "Mhhm." Alex had his arms crossed over his chest, "Which I could find that in a woman."

It was now Meredith's turn to speak, "Hey, how is it going with Addison?"

Alex's head immediately snapped towards the blond, his eyes were wide, "What?—What?— Why would you—What do you mean by that?"

"Laura Grey. Tiny baby."

"Oh, yeah. The baby. She's doing fine. She's doing well", the man answered her, a small smile in his face. He then titled his head a bit, "I gotta get out of gynie, thought. I got to get back to Sloan."

Brianna suddenly straightened up when she heard the man's name being mentioned and she awkwardly tired to not make it obviously by slumping down in her seat, but when she glanced at Izzie the woman already smirked a bit.

"What are you plotting and can I get in on it?", Cristina questioned Alex, an expression of curiosity on her face.

Brie gave him a nudge in the ribs, "Yeah, evil spawn. Tell us your master plan!"

Alex smirked amused, "Shut up." He then quickly jumped onto his feet and left the gallery.

They all chuckled, "Oh!"

Izzie seemed completely on edge besides her, "Urgh, this is my surgery. I should be down there!"

Brie sighed, "The next one is yours"

Suddenly Georges pager went off and as he looked at it, his face fell. The brunette man immediately jumped onto his feet and rushed out if the gallery, "No! Excuse me!"

Meredith's pager suddenly alsow went off and she glanced at it, immediately getting up as well, "Mr. O'Malley!"

Cristina gave her a questioning look, "911?"

The blond nodded before she left, "Yeah."

"Oh god. That sucks", Brie groaned while she placed her hands over her mouth and slumped even more into her seat.

"Yeah."

THE BRUNETTE WAS DEEP IN HER own thoughts, thinking about the fact that George's father hadn't woken up from the surgery. His organs were shutting down and he was dying.

The brunette was biting down in her lower lip, not succeeding to understand why terrible things happened to good people like George.

The woman stopped by the nurse table and placed her folder onto the counter, when suddenly Mark's voice addressed her from her right.

His eyebrows were raised, and his he had wrinkles on his forehead while.he frowned at her, "Do you think I would make a good father?"

Brie gave him a confused look, the thoughts of George disappearing while she put the folder away, "Uh— I don't —why—" The question caught her by surprise.

For a moment she remained silent, but then she raised an eyebrow at him. "Okay, um, Question. Do you like kids?"

"I don't know. Depends on how loud they are", Mark answer her honestly, his face expression showing his thoughts.

Brie gave him a sceptical glance, before she continued, "Okay. Um, do you like your family? What I mean is— are you a family kind of guy?"

The man gave her a plain look, "I don't really have a family."

Brie raised her eyebrows slightly at him, while she continued to listen. "Derek is— was my family."

"Okay— well, what about, birthdays and anniversaries? Do you remember those sort of things?" The brunette watched his mimic closely.

Mark leaned onto the counter, seeming deep in his own thoughts, "No. I don't know. Sometimes."

She couldn't suppress a smile from forming on her lips, "Hmm."

"Isn't it the same with all men?"

"No. Not really. I guess some men just like kids. To—uh—some men— family means everything." He mind wandered off towards George, who was so completely destroyed by his father's passing.

Mark nodded his head, a faint smile appearing on his lips, "Right." He raised an eyebrow at her, "And you know these men?"

Brie nodded while she smiled widely, "Yeah, I do. I know one of them."

Mark and her gazed at each other in silence after that and suddenly he straightened up. "I would've made a terrible father."

And with that the man walked away from her, leaving Brie alone with her folder.

a couple minutes later the brunette met Meredith in the elevator, the two greeted each other with a silent nodd.

The doors had just closed when Meredith spoke from besides her, "George and his family decided to unplug his father."

Brie inhaled sharply while her eyes went towards the celling, "Oh God." She then locked eyes with Meredith before she slung her arms around her body. "Poor George."

The blond gave her a slight nodd before the elevator doors opened and Meredith stepped outside, followed by Brianna.

The two made their way towards the room where George's father was being unplugged right now.

Meanwhile the brunette tried making the goosebumps disappear from her arms while she rubbed over them, but she couldn't manage.

Her thoughts were circling around the terrible fact that George's loving and caring father, who had raised a lovely person, was dying a couple of meters away from them, surrounded by the people who loved him, while she hadn't spoken a word to her father since Thanksgiving.

Suddenly the door opened, pulling her out of her thoughts and George stepped outside. But instead of saying something he just walked past the group, disappearing around the corner.

Brianna released a deep sighed before Cristina suddenly spun around and rushed after the man, leaving everyone gazing after her.
