72.

It was an amazing few weeks that I spent with Joe. As it was finally time for our wedding and we haven't seen each other in over a week prior to the wedding, I was nervous and quite apprehensive at the thought of becoming husband and wife.

While I was sitting all alone inside of the room and adjusting my hair, the door began to creek and it was Emma as she approached me with excitement in her voice.

"Hey Chloe!" She smiles, "Aren't you excited about your wedding later?"

"Of course I am!" I reply, "I'm more excited and nervous than anything."

"Why are you nervous? Girl, you're making your dreams come true!"

My lips began to spread into a smile as I looked over at my best friend, "My dream wedding. I've waited for this moment ever since we were little girls."

"And you make such a beautiful bride, Chloe."

I picked up my wedding dress from the hanger and thanks to Emma's assistance, I was able to slide right into the wedding dress without hesitation. She looked at me with tears beginning to well-up in her eyes as she seen me wearing the wedding dress of my dreams.

"Chloe..." She says, stopping on her words, "You're so fucking beautiful."

"You think so?"

"Girl, I know so." She smiles. "Joe is definitely going to fall in love with you all over again."

While Emma proceeded to work on my hair, the door opened and I was met with Renee, Rebecca and Vanessa all in the same room as Emma and I. All of the women looked at me with awe as I was wearing the most beautiful wedding dress they've ever seen and they approached me with an embrace.

"You look so beautiful." Rebecca says.

"I second that! Look at you, Chloe." Renee added.

"I'm so happy to see that you're finally going to have your happy ending, Chloe. You look stunning in that wedding dress." Emma replied.

Then the door opened once again and to my surprise, it was Joe's mother, Patricia. She was too stunned to speak as she approached me with the biggest smile spread across her face.

"Oh my! Dear, you look so beautiful and my son is such a lucky man to be marrying a beautiful woman like you."

"Thank you, Mrs. Anoa'i."

"You're very welcome. From the moment we first met, I knew you were perfect for my son and you were a blessing that came in his life when he was going through so much." She says.

Patricia had a small box that contained corsages for the wedding and they were beautiful as she handed them to Rebecca, Emma, Renee, and Vanessa to wear on their wrists.

"Those are beautiful corsages, Mrs. Anoa'i."

I picked them out myself." She smiled, "Hey sweetie. I have a question, but are your parents..."

After she was about to ask if my parents were in attendance to the wedding, everyone grew silent; especially Emma and Vanessa as they both knew my situation. I dropped my head in defeat as she quickly stopped in her tracks and looked at me with concern written in her eyes.

"Are you alright, Chloe?" Her demeanor began to drop as she noticed a tear beginning to well-up in my eye.

"Mrs. Anoa'i, I've never fully had the chance to talk to you alone, but my parents tragically passed away when I was only a child and I wish they could be here to witness me getting married. And Joe and I had a baby on the way if you remember, but unfortunately I miscarried."

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry sweetheart." She apologized.

"Don't apologize!" I replied, "I never had the chance to tell you back then."

"Well, we can make an arrangement to have my husband, Joe's father, to walk you down the aisle, or maybe even one of Joe's cousins. If that's acceptable to you?"

I put some thought into this and I didn't know who to choose, so I decided to pick Joe's cousin, Josh, to assist me down the aisle. I've grown close to Joe's cousins over a small course of time after meeting them in Pensacola, to some of the shows that they had to perform on the road.

"Could you ask Josh if he'd want to assist me down the aisle?" I warmly smiled.

"Of course! I'll be right back with an answer."

After Patricia left the room, I looked over at my friends who were still full of concern after remembering that my parents were no longer alive to witness my wedding with Joe. Emotional, they all pulled me into their comforting embrace.

"Chloe, I know this is one of the hardest parts about the wedding, but they're still with you in spirit, and they would be so thrilled to see you marrying the man of your dreams." Emma said.

"And besides, you're having his cousin, Josh, walking you down the aisle." Vanessa replied, biting her lip seductively, "He's so fucking handsome."

I started to laugh at her comment until Patrica entered the room with a warm smile on her face, "Hey Chloe, Josh has agreed to walk you down the aisle. Again, I'm so sorry that I brought back that memory."

"It's okay, ma'am. I should have spoken up about that when we first met, but I didn't know when it would've been the right time."

After a few hours passed, all of the girls fixed my hair and worked on my make-up in the meantime before it was finally time to get married to Joe. I couldn't be anymore ready for my childhood dream to come true, to marry the love of my life.

Joe
I was in the room with my cousins, father, and many of my friends until Josh walked back into the room with a smile on his face and he clapped his hands together.

"Hey Uce. I have some crazy news that I have to share with you."

"What's up, man?"

"Your ma wanted me to walk your girl down the aisle. Why is that? I thought her father was supposed to walk her down the aisle?"

My smile began to fade, "It's hard to explain, but Chloe told me that her parents tragically passed away when she was only a child and she hasn't really told anyone except for me. It's a very hard topic for her to talk about."

"Oh..." He paused, "Shit, I didn't know that, Uce."

"It's all good." I cleared my throat, "Can you guys help me find the perfect cologne to wear out there?"

"Sure, man." Joseph says.

Everyone from my cousins, to Colby, Jon, Brock, Fergal, Adam, and a few other co-workers attempted to help me find the perfect cologne to wear for the wedding; along with my suit and the perfect red tie to finish the look. I was more than excited to marry Chloe in the next hour and a half and I started to feel slightly jittery.

After an hour passed, it was finally time to marry Chloe. We haven't seen each other in over seven days and a whole week felt like an eternity without seeing her. Nervous, I looked at myself in the mirror as I adjusted my suit and tie before stepping out.

When I stepped out minutes later, I took a moment to enjoy the scenic area and it was the most beautiful sunset I've ever witnessed. The sun was beginning to set and the aisle was more than perfect for Chloe's dream wedding. I looked down at the ground and was taken aback at the red rose petals that were scattered all over the sand; the entire venue was nothing but beautiful.

"Looking sharp, my man." Colby smiled.

"Let's get you married, Uce!" Jonathan said with his hands on my shoulders as he escorted me towards the end of the aisle.

After I made my way towards the podium and waited for everyone to be seated, I looked around at the sunset that was beginning to fade into darkness and looked up at the fading clouds with a smile on my face, "I promise to be an amazing husband to Chloe. Oute tauto atu."

I understood that the only downside of the wedding was that her parents weren't able to physically be here with us, including our unborn child that passed away; and I was determined to be the best husband in the world towards Chloe.

I looked down at my feet while adjusting my tie and the pastor began making his way up to the podium beside me. Before I knew it, our song began to faintly play in the background.

"A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri

When our song started to slowly pan into the background, I watched as I seen Chloe walking down the aisle with my cousin, Josh, as he was escorting her. I started to flash a smile the moment I seen my beautiful fiancΓ©e making her way towards me. She was like an angel that was sent to me after everything I've been through. She brightened up the room with her beautiful white wedding dress and I couldn't keep my gaze off of her.

There stood Chloe, standing right in front of me with the brightest smile on her face. I was immediately meszmerized from the moment I watched her walking towards me and it took me back to the night we first met at the Toronto show. I was starting to fall in love with Chloe all over again and I wouldn't have it any other way.

"You look so beautiful, baby."

She replied, "You too, babe."

"Welcome, loved ones. We are gathered here today in the sight of God and these witnesses to join together Joe Anoa'i and Chloe Levine in holy matrimony."

"Joe and Chloe, you have come together this day so that the Lord may seal and strengthen your love in the presence of this minister of his word and this community of family and friends and so, in the presence of this gathering, I ask you to state your intentions. Have you both come here freely and without reservation to give yourselves to each other in marriage? If so, answer by saying 'I have.'"

We both said in unison, "We have."

The pastor smiled, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Let us pray for this couple as they make their marriage vows."

Everyone remained silent, "Father, as Joe and Chloe pledge themselves to each other, help them and bless them that their love may be pure, and their vows may be true. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, amen."

"Amen." Everyone in their seats said in unison as they looked back at us.

As it was time to say our wedding vows, I cleared my throat before looking into her eyes with a warm smile beginning to form on my face.

"Chloe, I remember the night we met in Toronto and I never thought I'd be meeting the woman of my dreams that night. From the moment I noticed you in the crowd, I was immediately starting to fall in love with you at first sight. We've been through some tough times, but there's always been this sudden light at the end of the tunnel and that was the love we shared. I'm more than blessed to be marrying the most beautiful woman in the world; and I wouldn't have it any other way."

The ringbarer then presented us our wedding rings.

"I give you this ring, wear it with love and joy. I choose you to be my wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward."

She teared up with her smile remaining on her face, "Love. Something that I was once scared of in the past. You've shown me unconditional love, stayed with me through our toughest and darkest moments. You've protected me through so much evil in the world, and I cannot wait to become your loving wife until the day I take my last breath. And I eagerly anticipate the chance to grow together, getting to know the man you will become, and falling in love a little more every day. I promise to love and cherish you through whatever life may bring us."

After we said our wedding vows, the pastor started to speak.

"Joe, please take the ring you have selected for Chloe. As you place it on her finger, repeat after me. With this ring, I thee wed."

"With this ring, I thee wed." I repeated as I placed the ring around Chloe's finger.

The pastor then looks over at Chloe, "Chloe, please take the ring you have selected for Joe. As you place it on his finger, repeat after me. With this ring, I thee wed."

She repeats, "With this ring, I thee wed."

Chloe then slid my ring around my finger.

"By the power vested in me by the state of Florida, I now pronounce you husband and wife! You may kiss the bride!"

I pulled Chloe towards my embrace and passionately pressed my lips against hers as everyone started to shout and cheer for us finally becoming husband and wife. When we pulled back, I looked into Chloe's eyes as we both were beginning to feel the emotions welling-up through our eyes.

"We did it, baby. I told you I was gonna wife you up someday and I finally did." I warmly smiled.

"We did. I couldn't be anymore happier!"

"Oute alofa ia oe."

"What does that mean in Samoan?"

"It means I love you." I smiled.

"In that case, Joe, I love you too."

I reeled her into my embrace once more and pressed my lips against hers.
