Chapter 63
Chapter 63 - Shattered Bonds
Izuku's heart pounded in his chest as the air crackled with tension. The sound of a banshee-like scream echoed through the air, sending shivers down his spine. He barely had time to react before a flash of blackness zipped past him, a blur of movement faster than he could track. And then—boom—a ball of raw energy shot through the air, ripping apart the silence with its crackling intensity.
Izuku's eyes widened in horror. His stomach twisted into knots, and the realization hit him like a punch to the gut. "Y/N," he whispered breathlessly, the words escaping him before he could stop them. "Oh no, not again..."
Your figure appeared then, just a shadow in the chaos. But it was you, and you were different. Gone was the friendly, fierce spirit he knew. In its place stood a shell of that person, controlled and cold. Your eyes flickered with a nervous, almost frantic energy as Gang Orca loomed behind you. His massive, clawed hand extended toward your back like a puppeteer pulling strings, guiding you forward. His voice cut through the air like a whip, commanding you.
"Attack!" Gang Orca's voice was a deep, gravelly growl, devoid of any warmth.
The moment his order echoed in the battlefield, you launched forward. With unnatural speed, you sped toward them, leaving only a blur in your wake. Izuku's heart ached as he watched you, knowing that you weren't fully in control of your actions. A dangerous energy was already forming in your mouth—plasma, crackling with unstable force, growing by the second.
"SCATTER!" Shindo shouted, his voice panicked, but his instincts screamed at him to avoid the blast.
Izuku's hand shot out, grabbing Shindo's arm before he could retreat. "No," he breathed urgently, his voice tight with resolve. "If we scatter, she'll pick us off one by one. We need to stay together—together—or we'll never get through to her."
The words hit Shindo like a cold gust of wind, and he hesitated. Izuku's gaze didn't leave you for a second, watching you struggle to maintain control. The plasma ball in your mouth swelled, becoming larger and more volatile, crackling dangerously as your steps quickened.
"Y/N, please!" Izuku shouted, his voice full of desperation. "This isn't you! You don't have to do this! Fight him, fight Gang Orca!"
But there was no response, only the coldness in your eyes and the relentless forward momentum of your attack. Each step you took was like a punch to Izuku's heart, each movement an obstacle keeping him from reaching the friend he had known.
"Focus, Izuku!" Shindo snapped, shaking off the moment of hesitation. "We need to stop her, but we can't hurt her. Do you have a plan?"
Izuku clenched his fists, his thoughts racing. A plan? What kind of plan could he have when the person he cared about was standing before him, lost in the chaos of someone else's control?
He locked eyes with you again, his voice softer now, almost a whisper. "Please, Y/N..."
But your face remained unchanged, cold and distant, as the energy in your mouth reached its peak, ready to tear through anything in its path.
The chaos was deafening. The smoke and dust from the ruined battlefield swirled around them, making it hard to see clearly, but the tension was palpable in the air. Just as the plasma ball in your mouth surged with power, a roar of force shattered the stillness, and two familiar figures burst through the rubble. The ground shook as Bakugo and Shoto emerged, their faces filled with determination and fury.
"You lazy lizard bastard, wake up, you useless reptile!" Bakugo's voice roared through the air, loud and sharp, as he launched an explosion directly at you. The blast crackled through the air like a thunderclap, the force making the ground tremble beneath their feet.
Without thinking, you instinctively raised one of your large wings, shielding yourself from the explosion. The heat of Bakugo's attack scorched the edges of your wing, but you were too focused on the task at hand to let it distract you. You had a mission, and you would fulfill it.
Before you could fully react, a blast of ice shot toward you, freezing the air around it as it came. It was Shoto—his powerful combination of ice and fire aimed to trap you, to slow you down. But you didn't hesitate. You dodged, your body weaving like a shadow through the freezing blast, the ice grazing the tips of your wings as you evaded it effortlessly. You were fast. Too fast.
Izuku's voice reached you from behind, but it barely registered over the pounding in your head. The urge to fight, to break free from whatever hold Gang Orca had on you, was battling with the cold control that held your body in its grip.
Then, the snap of Bakugo's harsh voice cut through the fog in your mind, fueling the fire within you. "Damn it, you won't get away with this!" he shouted, launching himself forward with another blast. But you were already ahead of him, eyes wide with a flicker of something—fear, confusion, maybe even regret—but it was too late. Your instincts, driven by Gang Orca's commands, took control.
With a shriek that tore through your chest, a raw, anguished sound that seemed to echo from your very soul, you darted out toward Bakugo. In one swift motion, your clawed hand snatched him by the neck, the sharpness of your claws biting into his skin, and you dragged him towards your master. His struggles were futile against your grip, but the anger in his eyes only made you hesitate for the briefest moment.
His chest heaved with exertion, and through the mask of fury, you could see the confusion and the defiance in his gaze. He tried to shout, but his words were muffled by the pressure of your grip around his throat. You ignored it, pulling him toward Gang Orca, the image of your master looming behind you, as you prepared to hand him over like a sacrifice.
Bakugo's fists pounded against your arm, but you didn't flinch. His struggle only strengthened the resolve that now held you in its grip. Gang Orca's orders were clear, and you were only following them.
But even as you dragged Bakugo through the dust, the flicker of hesitation, of doubt, burned deeper within you. You could hear their voices—Izuku's pleading words, Shoto's commands, the sound of your friends calling your name. This isn't you... Y/N, their voices seemed to whisper through your mind, but it was too late. The claws that gripped Bakugo's neck and the coldness that filled your heart only pushed you forward, a tool in the hands of someone far more powerful than you.
Gang Orca's shadow loomed closer, his voice a low growl in the background. "Good, bring him to me," he commanded, his claws outstretched. You could feel the weight of the situation pressing down on you, but there was no turning back now.
Yet, in that brief moment, as your eyes flickered between your struggling teammate and the imposing figure of Gang Orca, you couldn't help but wonder—How long can you stay this way?
The air crackled with tension as Iida and Shoto coordinated their attack. Iida's engines flared, pushing him forward with incredible speed, while Shoto unleashed a wave of ice and air in a perfect combination. The two powers collided, sending you tumbling to the ground, the impact knocking the breath from your lungs. For a brief moment, your wings flared wide, but the weight of their combined attack kept you pinned to the ground.
Izuku and Uraraka, sensing the opening, leaped into action, quickly pinning you to the earth with their combined strength. Izuku's hands gripped your shoulders, and Uraraka's gravity-manipulating power forced you into place, holding you there as they both pleaded for you to come back.
"Please, Y/N, snap out of it!" Izuku's voice cracked with desperation. His usually calm and confident demeanor faltered, replaced by the raw emotion of someone watching a friend drift further away. His green eyes were wide with concern, full of the familiar warmth that used to anchor you.
But you weren't the same.
You snarled at him, your eyes narrowing to slits, pupils shrinking as the darkness twisted inside you. The sense of control you once held over your own body felt like a distant memory. The bond you had with your classmates, the connection you shared, was slipping away, replaced by the cold emptiness that Gang Orca had nurtured within you.
For a moment, you went limp, your body betraying the briefest flicker of hesitation—of something human that remained inside you. But that flicker was gone before it could ignite, buried under the weight of your new allegiance. The quiet struggle in your chest faded, replaced by the cold, unyielding presence of your master's commands.
Izuku and Uraraka stepped back, uneasy, their eyes flickering between you and each other, unsure of what to do. But before they could react, in one fluid motion, you were gone, standing at Gang Orca's side as if you had never been with them in the first place.
Gang Orca hummed with approval, his massive form looming beside you. He reached out and gently patted your neck, his claws brushing the scales that covered it. "You are good at this," he said, his voice a low, gravelly purr, as if your obedience was something to be praised.
You smirked, the hint of a dark, twisted satisfaction curling on your lips. The edges of your vision glowed with a faint, eerie light, and you flicked your tongue out, a dangerous plasma ball forming at its tip. It was small, but the energy it contained was enough to obliterate everything in its path.
"I've just begun, master," you responded, your voice dripping with a confidence that was foreign to the Y/N they once knew.
You turned your head slightly, the ball hovering dangerously at the tip of your tongue, crackling with the power you'd been taught to wield. Without warning, you let it fall from your mouth. The air around you shimmered as the ball dropped, expanding and filling the world with a blinding flash of light. The blast was deafening, the shockwave rippling through the area with terrifying force, leaving only white-hot brilliance in its wake.
In that moment, time seemed to stop, and all that remained was the feeling of power, of being in control. You could hear the distant shouts of your classmates—Izuku's frantic call, Uraraka's worried voice—but they were distant, muffled by the chaos you had unleashed. The world had become a blur, filled only with the scorching heat and the promise of destruction.
And, in the center of it all, Gang Orca stood beside you, the only one who remained steady and unwavering. His approval only fueled the fire inside you, and you couldn't help but smirk as the light faded, leaving only the aftermath of what you'd just done.
"You've made me proud, Y/N," Gang Orca said, his voice deep and approving. And as you stood there, side by side with him, the weight of the choice you had made settled in—there was no turning back. You were his now, a tool in his hands, and there was nothing left but to carry out his will.
