✧ Meeting and Becoming Friends ✧

Helena was happy that the Dursleys agreed to drop her and Harry off at King's Cross Station. The pair of them walked over between platforms 9 and 10, unsure of where else they should look for Platform 9¾.
"How about this," Helena suggested. "We'll split up and find somebody to ask for directions, then meet each other here in case the other didn't find the platform."
"Works with me," Harry shrugged.
Helena walked off in one direction, Harry in the other. As Helena walked around, she wasn't paying attention and bumped into somebody.
"Oof– sorry," she apologized quickly.
The person she practically fell onto looked familiar. He had platinum blonde hair that was slicked back with quite a lot of hair gel. He also had cold grey eyes that looked as though they lacked any warmth. Then, it hit her where she saw him before.
"You're the boy from the robe shop! It was... Drake? Draco?"
"Draco," he agreed. "And you're Harry Potter's sister."
Helena chuckled a bit. "Yep, that's me. The funny thing is, in my primary school, everybody knew me. Here, everybody knows my brother."
"Well, he did defeat You-Know-Who," Draco pointed out. "That's a big achievement."
"Voldemort," Helena mused. "I remember seeing him kill my mother. I've never actually told anyone before..."
Draco flinched at the sound of the name. "You're like my sister," he shook his head slightly. "She always says You-Know-Who's name, no matter how many times Mother and Father tell her not to."
"You have a sister?" Helena asked.
"Well, she's my cousin actually. I found out recently since we were raised as siblings," Draco explained.
"Oh my gosh!" Helena exclaimed. "That's how Dudley and I were raised! Dudley's my cousin," she added. "My aunt and uncle told us we were siblings and instructed us to bully Harry. It was quite rude of them."
Draco stared in horror. "Harry's mistreated by them? Merlin, wait until the rest of the Wizarding World finds out."
Helena chuckled in response. "Yeah, they would. People've been crowding us everywhere we go. Anyway, do you know how to get to the platform? I'm rather lost..."
"I'd be glad to. Follow me first," Draco said. "You should meet my family."
Helena nodded and followed Draco to a group of people standing close to where she and Harry separated. She saw a young redhead girl and her mother there– then they began running somewhere between Platforms 9 and 10– and disappeared. Helena frowned at the sight, but after a nudge from Draco, turned toward Draco's parents.
His mother, Helena assumed, had neat brown hair with two blonde streaks in the front. Her hair was half-up, half-down, and the look suited her well. Draco was the spitting image of his father, except the latter had longer hair. There was a girl between them. She had blonde hair as well, except it was wavier and had a bit more color. She had dark brown– nearly black eyes.
"Hello Draco," his mother greeted. "Have you found any of your friends yet?"
"No, Mother," Draco responded.
"Who is this young lady?" Draco's father asked, scrutinizing Helena carefully.
"Hello sir," Helena said politely, stepping forward and extending her hand for him to shake. "My name's Helena. Helena Potter."
Draco's parents glanced at each other, surprised, before looking back at Helena.
"Lovely to meet you," Draco's mother said warmly.
"Likewise," Helena replied. "Erm– Mrs. Malfoy–"
"Please, call me Narcissa."
Draco's father inclined his head and shook Helena's hand, preventing her from questioning Narcissa about the platform. Instead, she smiled politely at him.
"Lucius," he said simply.
Capella was bored of just standing there while watching her brother– that is to say, cousin, look starstruck over a girl. She tried so hard not to laugh as his eyes glossed over as he stared at the newcomer, Helena, for a little too long.
"I'm Capella," she spoke suddenly, coming up from behind her aunt and uncle.
Pushing past her uncle, Capella shook Helena's hand as well. "Do you want to join my cousin and me in a compartment on the train?"
"Oh– sure," Helena accepted. "Er... I was wondering, how do you get on the train? I can't even find the platform."
"My apologies," Narcissa said quickly. "Draco, Capella, why don't you show Helena how to get there? The three of you can go together, and hopefully, your other friends will find you."
"Sure," Capella shrugged.
"Yes, Mother," Draco obeyed.
The next thing she knew, Capella was sitting across from the sister of Harry Potter. Draco was sitting right next to Helena, and there was barely any space between the two. When Helena left the cousins for a moment to search for Harry, Capella made sure to inform Draco about it and tease him for crushing on a girl he just met. Helena came back and told the pair that she found her brother with a boy called Ron Weasley. With that, Capella decided to talk a bit about herself and chuckled quietly upon noticing Helena zoned off as she looked out the window, admiring the scenery.
"–So that's everything you need to know about me," Capella finished. "How 'bout you, Helena?"
"It's Ella, right?" Helena asked, coming back to Earth.
"Yup."
"Well, Ella, all I can say is that we were bound to meet. You're literally just like me! Like, oh my God, I love playing random pranks on people. Like in my primary school, I tied the laces on this boy's trainers together and he tripped and fell right on his crush!!"
Capella burst into laughter. "Wow," she said, between giggles. "Did they end up together?"
"Are you insane?" Helena asked. "That was primary school!"
"This is boring," Draco complained, preventing Capella from talking again. "Can't you two do something other than talk?"
"No," Capella replied, sticking her tongue out at her cousin.
"Real mature of you, Ella," Helena snickered.
"Telling me about maturity? Look at yourself!" Capella teased.
"I'm leaving," Draco decided, standing up. "See you at Hogwarts, Helena."
Helena smiled at him, and though she didn't know it, Draco hid a blush and ignored the slight flutter in his stomach. Capella grinned as he left.
"Thank Merlin he's gone. I was going to use the period method."
"The what?" Helena asked, not entirely sure if she heard correctly.
"The period method. Just bring up periods and guys leave faster than you can call Merlin!" Capella said happily.
Ruby was tired of stopping at every single compartment to see if there was space. Elizabeth looked around eagerly, most likely on the lookout for the compartment her father's friends always sat at, but that didn't stop her from stopping to talk with every first-year student who'd listen to her rambles.
"Hurry up, Beth!" Ruby exclaimed. "The compartment's right there, see?"
"Oooh!!" Elizabeth perked up, skipping toward the compartment Ruby pointed at. "Hey, sis? There are people here."
"Let me talk to them," Ruby decided. "Move aside."
She pushed the door open and scanned the inhabitants. Two girls were sitting across from each other and looking outside of the window. At least, that's what they were doing. Upon the arrival of the sisters, the girls were watching them.
"Hi?" one of them said uncertainly.
"Hello," Ruby said politely. "I'm Ruby Lupin, and this is my half-sister, Elizabeth Pettigrew."
"Call me Beth," Elizabeth cut in, scowling at Ruby.
"Can we sit here?" Ruby, asked. "The other compartments are full."
"Of course!" the blonde girl replied happily. "Take a seat! I'm Capella Black, by the way. You can call me Ella."
"I'm Helena Potter," the redhead introduced herself.
As she took a seat, Elizabeth gasped. "Bloody hell! A Potter, Black, Lupin, and Pettigrew in the same compartment! The compartment!"
Ruby's mouth fell open and she bonked her head on the wall behind her. "Good Godric! You're right, Beth!"
Upon seeing Capella and Helena's confused expressions, Ruby frowned a bit. "Weren't you ever told? Our fathers were best friends at Hogwarts! They were the biggest pranksters ever!"
"Dad wasn't much of one," Elizabeth pointed out.
"That's what he wanted us to think," Ruby wiggled her eyebrows.
Elizabeth chuckled and playfully shoved her sister. "So you're saying he lied?"
"Exactly," Ruby agreed.
"Wait!" Capella gasped. "I never thought about it before, but my dad– well, my uncle, actually, told me about these four guys a few years younger than him that pranked him and his fellow Slytherins all the time."
"Ew, your uncle's in Slytherin?" Elizabeth said, wrinkling her nose.
"Be polite, Beth," Ruby told her sister. "What's your uncle's name?" she asked Capella.
"Lucius Malfoy."
"Ew, a Malfoy," Elizabeth complained.
Wordlessly, Ruby smacked her on the head. "Dad told us about your Uncle. He and his friends did prank him."
"They were the Marauders," Elizabeth exclaimed.
"I love that name!" Capella commented. "It sounds fitting from the little I know about them. Oh my God–" she said suddenly, practically bouncing with energy. "What if we carry on their legacy or whatever?"
"You mean that we prank people and stuff?" Helena asked, speaking for the first time since she introduced herself.
"Um, yes," Capella said. "What– did you think we'd do homework or something?"
Ruby's expression clearly stated that she indeed wanted to do her homework.

"Black, Capella!" the lady, Professor McGonagall, called loudly.
Ah, quite a fine mind indeed. Similar to both your mother's and father's. Unlike him, you would suit well in Slytherin, yet your love for mischief says otherwise. It'll be...
"GRYFFINDOR!"
ϟ
"Lupin, Ruby!"
Lupin, eh? Your father was quite a wise man, but his bravery exceeded his wit. You have more wisdom than a love for mischief, unlike your father, so Ravenclaw would suit you well. Courageous, noble, brave, and selfless...
"GRYFFINDOR!"
ϟ
"Pettigrew, Elizabeth!"
"It's BETH!" she hollered, causing the Great Hall to erupt into giggles. Professor McGonagall was covering her face with the scroll of names, seemingly in annoyance, but she actually had a small smile on her usually stern face.
Hello, Beth. You are quite a loyal person and your personality is so similar to your father's. However, he chose the wrong path. Hufflepuff suits you well, but your courage says otherwise. You'd do well in...
"GRYFFINDOR!"
ϟ
"Potter, Helena!"
Oho! A Black, Lupin, Pettigrew, and Potter! All with bravery and a love for mischief. Well, you, my dear Potter, have more Gryffindor than any other House in you. Your friends all have another House alongside Gryffindor in them, but then again, every person is unique. I'm sure Gryffindor would love talent such as yours. May your house thrive from all you have to offer!
"GRYFFINDOR!"

Draco Malfoy was sorted into Slytherin, much to Helena's disappointment. However, Harry and his friend Ron were both sorted into Gryffindor and took seats across from Helena and her friends.
Harry grinned awkwardly at Helena the moment he sat down and mouthed 'all this attention is awkward.'
Helena chuckled and shrugged at him as if to say 'your problem, not mine.'

"Alright," Capella whispered once the last person, Blaise Zabini, sat down. "On the count of three, throw this in the air."
In the palm of her hand, she had a large pile of a sandy-like substance. It was brightly colored and smelled like smoke.
"Oooh, that's a product from Zonko's, that is!" Ruby whispered excitedly. "Zonko's is a Hogsmeade branch though... how'd you get it?"
"Aunt Cissa allows Draco and I to go sometimes," Capella explained. "Now– on the count of three–"
"Nooo," Elizabeth moaned. "Dumbledore's talking!"
"So interrupt him," Capella said indifferently. "Throw the fireworks anyway."
"No!" Ruby exclaimed in a heated whisper.
"Fine," Capella sighed.
The moment Dumbledore finished speaking– up went the powder, and BOOM went the first firework. Suddenly, the sky was full of sparks of color that were both gorgeous and loud. Half the students cheered as the other covered their ears. Some of the teachers attempted to call for order and tried to get rid of the fireworks, but that attempt was unsuccessful.
Once the fireworks disappeared, the four girls pushed the dishes on the table in front of them to the side and stood on the table, bowing deeply.
"Not again!" a voice shrieked.
Heads turned toward the speaker, who happened to be Professor McGonagall, and she looked horrified.
"I had enough of their fathers, and now them?!"
Nobody spoke, but then chatter slowly spread through the hall and people began whispering about what just happened. Nobody seemed to be good at whispering, since phrases such as 'I heard that their fathers did something like this once,' and 'They'd give the Weasley twins a good run for their money if they keep this up,' flew around the Great Hall.
At the Staff Table, Professor Dumbledore spoke quietly with Professor McGonagall as the former got the latter to take a seat. Suddenly, two redhead boys, presumably the Weasley twins, called for the girls' attention from across the Gryffindor table.
"Oi!"
"You lot!"
"How'd you do it?" the first asked, referring to the firework display.
"Magic," Capella replied simply.
"Huh," the second said, looking rather amused at her answer.
"Smooth," Helena whispered once the boys looked away.
"The beginning of a blossoming friendship," Elizabeth sighed happily.
The girls beamed at each other. It was the beginning of a blossoming friendship indeed.
I don't know why, but I love this chapter. It talks about how the girls meet and from each one's perspective. The Sorting isn't from anybody's POV, in case you didn't notice. Y'all, it's July 20th, 2022 and I've finished writing this. Unfortunately, this chapter is only 2.3k words. Again, here is a reminder to please stay respectful with comments. Thank you for reading, and stay tuned for the next chapter!
