Kai sloppily slid the off icon of his specially self-made alarm. He sighs, sleepily looking around his messy room, his eyes falling on the digital clock with calendar on the desk across his bed beside his curved monitor.

A smile creeps up to his face when he saw the date. It's his birthday. Then his eyes lands on the time.

"Fuckㅡ" he curses, bolting to stand up and taking the blanket off him. "She didn't even wake me-"

He hurries to wash his face, puts his clothes and shoes on and grabbing his bag and keys before scurrying to the door ㅡ but stops to grab the sandwich his girlfriend made him and ice placed tentatively on the kitchen counter right outside his room.

"I swear to God, she's doing this on purpose," he mutters, half smiling while locking the door of their shared condominium. "I'm late!"

"Mr. Jung," was what greeted him as soon as he swings the door open to english class. Kai mentally curses and hurries to think of a very complex and good tactical excuse as to why he is almost three hours late for class.

"Uhmm.." he stammers, eyes looking around his class. They fall on Beomgyu who is looking at him as if he expected him to be late.

"Anything broken? Neck? Back? Arms? Legs?" His usually-strict-professor Mr. Kyeo asks with concern in his eyes. This made Kai confused.

"W-what?"

"Your girlfriend came to the office this morning and said that you'll be late, because you have an appointment with the doctor. You were having back aches for two weeks straight?" Mr. Kyeo says.

"Uhmm-" Kai stammers shortly before deciding to play along with it. "Yeah, bad bad back aches, but nothing broken. Just a small sprain maybe." He says, twitching his ankle for he has tripped over the stairs on his way running to class.

"Oh good then," Mr. Kyeo clears his throat, changing his nurturing demeanor to his serious one again. "take your seat Mr. Kai."

Kai nods and sliding through his classmates who are giving him flirtatious looks ever since he came in.

He sits on the long table alone since his usual seatmate, an exchange student, has flewn back to his homeland, Germany.

"You weren't at the doctor's were you?" Taehyun, who is sitting with Beomgyu on the table before him, whispers.

"Uh- nope, I overslept and she didn't even bother to wake me up." Kai rants, ruffling his hair in slight annoyance. Taehyun only grins silently.

"Maybe she did, you just didn't hear her." Beomgyu comments, not even bothering to look at Kai as he teases him.

Kai then falls to a realisation, "Oh shut up, Gyu."

"Hey by the way," Taehyun whispers again. "a new girl is coming to this class and she'll be sitㅡ"

The sound of knocking on the door took everyone's attention. Mr. Kyeo stops writing on the board before putting down the washable pen.

He clears his throat before speaking,
"Come in!"

Almost immediately, the door swings open, revealing a short girl with black and white checkered dress under a white long coat. Mr. Kyeo ushers her to the front to introduce herself.

"Hello, my name is Cho Yeonra. I have been looking forward to this day and I hope we all can get along well~!" She beams, bowing before smiling at everyone.

"Whoa she's hot, get her number okay?"

Kai hears some boys from the back whispering about her in which he only shrugs off.

"Ah, Miss Cho, please be seated next to Kai. Kai, please raise your hand." Mr. Kyeo says.

Whispering of girls then occupies the room, asking why the new girl gets to sit with Kai, why she's dressed like that when it's getting cold, blah blah blah.

Kai raises his hand and the new girl's eyes falls on him. With a wide bright smile, she enthusiastically makes her way to his table - or rather - their table.

With the other girls' eyes on her, she settle her things down and sits beside Kai. She turns to one of the girls who was giving her a death glare and mockingly waves at her.

As Mr. Kyeo continues the lesson, Kai is focused on taking notes for what the teacher is saying and while he is doing so, he can feel the new girl's stare at him. Though tempted, he doesn't glance back at her.

"Hey," she whispers in which Kai hums a 'yes' to. "can I ask where you're from? 'Coz you look very... unique."

Without sparing her a glance, Kai replied while continues to take notes. "I'm half-american."

"Oh.." she says, prolonging the vowel sound. "I'm part chinese since my grandparents were chinese."

Kai doesn't answer her, not that he's forcing himself to not answer it's because he mainly doesn't care. She's a girl with no tact. Uninteresting.

After around ten seconds of no reply, Yeonra takes a deep breath to mentally calm herself after an obvious sign of 'i don't wanna talk to you'.

Taehyun stifles his laughter in which Yeonra just rolls her eyes at before they automatically land on Kai once again.

'So you're playing hard to get, huh?'

Lunch came quick and Kai and his group of friends sits down on a big round table outside since it's surprisingly quite warm today.

"So, are we sleeping over at Kai's tonight?" Suki asks, placing her tray on the table.

"Yeah we should! It's been a long time since we had an all-nighter." Beomgyu suggested, opening his can of sprite.

"Uh no, we just held one like five days ago." Taehyun retorts, steaming off his bulgogi.

"I mean we sure can, but she and I haven't talked about how we should celebrate it." Kai says, looking around for any signs of his girlfriend anywhere. He has texted her that he came late and that they're all sitting outside but no reply yet.

"Speaking of her, where is she?" Yeonjun, Suki's boyfriend asks.

'Yeah, where is your girlfriend Kai?' he thinks to himself.

"I just realised that you have no class with her at all." Soobin, Beomgyu's cousin, teases making Kai raise his middle finger at him playfully.

"Well, if there's anyone who wants to sit with us in the place of Kai's girlfriend, is highly invited." Beomgyu jokes.

"Can I sit here?"

Everyone's heads snaps to the side to see Yeonra, hopping to sit on the empty spot beside Kai, the spot where his girlfriend sits.

"Not - you..." Beomgyu's statement turned a tight raspy whisper lowering down to a hiss as he scoots away from her.

All of the five, excluding Kai, exchanges akward and confused glances with each other when she starts unpacking her bento box.

Suki arches one of her eyebrows. "I'm sorry, who are you?" she asks, restraining her voice to sound nice and friendly.

She hasn't met Yeonra since she doesn't have English class with the boys.

"Oh, I'm Cho Yeonra," she smiles at Suki. "Instagram influencer and Kai's seatmate in English Class." instead of stretching her arm for a shake, she stretches her arm to show her instagram profile.

It's definitely twice as much as hers but Suki knows someone who has more.

"Is that why you transferred here? For more followers?" Suki suddenly snaps at her with a mocking smile.

Yeonra looks taken aback for a short while before replying with a stuck up grin. "Yeah, maybe."

Suki rolls her eyes.

Silence wrap the atmosphere for a while before Yeonra looks at Kai to start a conversation with him - instead.

"So, what's your next class? Should we sit next to each other again? You know, I'm pretty smart that's why I don't need to listen to the teacher's nonsense blabbing. So we can talk all day long." Yeonra giggles and Soobin and Kai immediately got goosebumps because of the cringe.

Kai doesn't answer.

"Am I being a burden?" Yeonra suddenly pouts, speaking in aegyo in which sounded like a baby choking on baby food.

Beomgyu wants to shout YES right then and there and Yeonjun saw that through him making him stifle his laugh.

Suki sighs, finally speaking. "Look. I'm sorry to break it to you honey, but Kai here, has a girlfriend. And yes you're being a burden."

Kai stands up, taking his tray and gesturing the others to follow him inside. Gladly, the others did, leaving Yeonra sitting speechless.

Taehyun comes back with a piece of paper, placing it to the table before catching up with the others.

Yeonra unwraps the paper.

Yeonra is quick to type the username and searches for her. She clicks on the first result and her eyes instantly averts to the number of followers.

Biting her inner cheek, she shrugs of the big number and scrolls through the girl's post. She only has six posts, each getting around 8k likes aside from her latest post that got over 12k.

What was the post?

A selca of her and Kai in the same black hoodie.

She groans in frustration, "Ugh, gorgeous bitch. You're just lucky you got here before I did."

Kai unlocks the door after a long day of school, he swings the tall dark wooden door open and is greeted by the smell of delicious food - but, why are the lights off?

'Is she home?'

"Shihye?" He calls out, voice echoing through the spacious modern condominium. He takes off his shoes, putting them on the shoe rack by the door.

He walks past the closed washroom door to the side wall to turn the lights on.

"BOOH!!" A sudden loud sound made Kai jump in  place, stumbling to whip back and immediately falling down to the dark fluffy carpet on the floor.

Kai groans in slight pain, but it's inaudible because of that very familiar cute laughing.

His girlfriend.

"Oh my God - you should have seen your face!" She mocks, taking off the scary oni mask she had on which Kai didn't really see when she scared the crap out of him.

"Shihye... how dare you.." Kai says playfully, sitting up on the floor as he watches his girlfriend laugh until she calms down.

"Need a hand?" Shihye asks, reaching her arm out for him to grab on so he could stand up.

Kai looks at it, then to his girlfriend's bright smile that radiates off angelic energy. But Kai is pretty evil.

Instead of grabbing her hand, he takes a hold of her wrist, pulling her down with him to the floor as he lays back again, supporting a gasping Shihye as she stumbles forward.

She brings her face up to lock eyes with him. "You sly boy." she says in which Kai teasingly winks at. "How dare you.."

Kai's eyes were lost in her dark ones, the abyss folding right before him and pulling him in like gravitational force.

"How can you be so beautiful.." He unconsciously blurts out, eyes flickering down to her lips.

Shihye slowly leans down, breath shortening and slowly synching with each other's then their noses touch. Her eyes involuntarily closes when their lips brush against each otherㅡ

"ARF! ARF!"

She mentally hisses, pulling away from Kai who is looking at her with confused but excited eyes. They both stand up and Kai is first to search after the source of the noise.

Something is on the carpet in front of their middle C-shaped gray sofa. A box wrapped in light blue glittered paper with a cute white bow and a few smoothly cut holes around. It moves slightly and Kai looks at Shihye as if he's telling her that he has an idea what it is.

"ARF! ARF!"

"Open it," Shihye tells him. "It's for you."

Kai wasted no time in kneeling down and taking the top cover off. A small fluff of white pops out of the box and Kai almost melted right then and there.

"Gasp. Oh my God!" He squels cutely, watching the white japanese spitz puppy roll out of the box and hops onto Kai who gladly holds him up.

"Hi~! I'm Kai! You're so cuuuute!"

"ARF!"

"Aaawweee," Kai is even cuter when he's internally melting. "He looks like Kasumi." Kai tells Shihye who has been taking photos and video of the whole thing.

"It's her puppy. I managed to finally got to convince my cousin to give him to you after she saw your photo." Shihye says, turning off her phone and placing it on the sofa.

Shihye can't control the smile that creeps up to her face when the puppy licks Kai as he laughs at how ticklish it feels.

"He likes you." She says, ruffling the dog's soft white fur.

Kai places the dog down, letting it roam its new surroundings. Shihye then leads him to the kitchen where she prepares the fruit salad.

The dining table is decked with homemade delicious-looking meals that is making Kai drool.

"Suki and the guys are coming over for dinner. There's no school tomorrow because of an annual faculty meeting." Shihye reminds him, mixing the fruits well with each other.

Kai gently turns her to face him. "Thank you, very much and.. where have you been all day?" He whines, sliding and wrapping his arms around her waist and resting his chin on her shoulder.

She chuckles. "Persuading my cousin for the puppy." she replies, hugging him back.

"You really didn't have to do all of this. Seriously." Kai says, pulling back and looking at her in the eyes with a smile.

"It's for you," she starts, "and besides, the fridge was being flooded so I had to kind of clean it somehow you know."

Kai chuckles, head leaning back, exposing his jawline from below.

What a view.

He suddenly looks back down at her with quite a serious expression.

"Seriously," he leans down to peck her forehead.

"thank you," he pecks both her cheeks and she starts to giggle at her boyfriend's childishness.

"so much," he pecks the both corners of her lips.

"for," he pecks the two sharp corners of her prominent v jawline.

"the," he leans down to kiss her collarbone.

"gift." coming back up, he kisses her nose.

Kai mockingly smiles at Shihye when she pouted. Losing his control, he bites his lower lips while placing his hands on the edge of the marble kitchen counter by her sides, trapping her with only three inches of breathing space.

Their foreheads touch, Kai leaning down slowly to touch their noses. He brushes their lips oh so quick that made Shihye tug on his shirt slightly, making him smirk. Teasing Shihye is fun.

When he sees Shihye acting impatient, Kai surges in to capture her lips with his. Kai kisses her gently and softly at first, then suddenly he remembers how he misses her after not seeing her the whole day until now.

He gently sucks on her bottom lip, brushing it with his tounge before slightly nibbling on it.

Shihye melts into the kiss, her arms around Kai's neck, pulling him slightly down to deepen the sweet kiss. Kai kisses her a bit roughly that she begins to slightly lean backwards.

*DINGDONG!

Shihye opens her eyes, averting to the entrance which you can see from the kitchen island.

The small ball of fluff hurries to the door then barking at the strange new scents just outside the door.

"They're here," She says in between the kiss, but Kai doesn't listen and continues to kiss her making her giggle. "Kaiii, come on." Shihye has always known Kai's stubbornness, but not on something like this.

Shihye slightly pushes him gently, causing him to pause. He smiles before quickly stealing a kiss from her then rushing to open the door.

"Hi guys~!" Kai greets them.

"Oh my God you got a dog?~ Awwweee he's so cuuuuuuttteeee~!" Taehyun and the others fawns over the dog in which Shihye smiles at.

"Shihye, you won't believe how clingy that new girl is! Ugh!" Suki says, eyes rolling just at the thought of Yeonra.

They are all settled down in the dining table with delicious food Shihye and Suki cooked. The dog is busy eating his own food from his feeding bowl.

"She was clinging to Kai so much that it looked like she glue gunned herself to him." Soobin comments, biting a piece of his ginger bread.

"Oh really?" Shihye glances at her boyfriend, sitting on the opposite side of the long table. Kai sips on his cola as soon as he made eye contact with Shihye. "What is she like?"

"Self-centered, try hard, clingy, annoying - oh and have I said clingy?" Beomgyu rants.

"You guys have to calm down, I'm sure she's not that horrible. Tsss.." Shihye says.

"She showed off her instagram profile instead of giving a handshake to Suki. Unacceptable." Yeonjun jokes, playfully smacking the table making them laugh.

"Maybe I should've picked the same line as you all." Shihye says. "That way it'd be more fun."

"ARF! ARF!"

Kai brings the puppy up to sit on his lap, slightly dragging his chair backwards and they all automatically fawn over this furball at an instant.

"So, what are you gonna name him Kai?" Taehyun asks, head resting on his hand as he looks at the cute puppy, his eyes turning to puppy eyes unknowingly.

"Hmm.." Kai trails off, immediately locking eyes with Shihye.

She smiles at him and he does the same.
Everyone waiting for the name to be revealed and to virtually baptise the puppy.

"Nabi."
