All who had laid eyes on her windswept blonde hair and chapped blue nail polish would insist that they knew the girl with the everlasting smile; the first glance at the shoreside, that was rewarded with a glimpse of the crashing waves at storm and the beautiful eeriness of the pink and purple painted sky when the sun kissed goodbye the ocean, could give you that idea. But did you sail out past the thick fog, whose job it was to hide the real treasure, you would find something more.

See, Julie Fisher was a hidden kind of beauty. The type of girl to catch someone's attention for only a brief moment of time before their gaze instead drifted to the seashells displayed on the warm sand beneath their toes, because she was simply just there. The girl next door that was noticed, but never really noticed.

Steven Conklin saw it. He saw how the sun shined in her eyes, how the wind blowed in her hair, and how the infinite salt lingered on her skin like a perfume designed especially for her. He had seen her grow up, seen how she spent every summer evening relaxing on the terrace of her family's beach house with a romance book displayed in front of her all-knowing blue eyes and a cold glass lemonade standing beside her.

This summer would be no different. Well, besides from the fact that he wasn't the only one seeing it anymore. Because as the treasure moved closer to the shore, the trip became less dangerous, and suddenly he wasn't the only one willing to risk going through the fog that was Julie Fisher's defences.

He just had to let her know that he was there first.
