JANUARY 19 2020
Theadora waves at the camera with a warm smile. "hi! i'm thea and i play cassandra cain in birds of prey."
margot chimes in right after, flashing her signature grin. "i'm margot and i play harley quinn."
thea turns to her co-star, slightly fidgeting. "and we're gonna ask each other some questions. i'm kinda nervous, actually."
margot nods, matching her energy. "yeah, i'm scared too." she takes the first question. "if you weren't an actor, what job would you want to do?"
thea hums thoughtfully. "hmm...honestly, i have no idea. i've only ever thought about acting. it's been my whole life." she looks back at margot. "what about you? what would you want to do?"
margot laughs. "when i was little i wanted to either own hotels or be a magician. not sure if that still applies, though. but i do know i'd have to stay in film somehow—I'd miss being on set too much. I think I'd love to work in pyrotechnics or special effects. Something behind-the-scenes but still part of the chaos."
thea grins. "That'd be fun."
Margot nods. "Pretty rad." next up, she asks, "What's one thing your fans would be surprised to learn about you?"
"My fans? Um—" Thea pauses, visibly thinking.
Before she answers, Margot jumps in. "Wait, do your fans have a name for themselves?"
"I think someone told me once," Thea says, laughing a little. "But I can't remember. Do yours?"
Margot chuckles. "I once said in an interview, 'Oh, I don't know,' and then I saw this very dedicated fan online saying, 'It's all our fault she doesn't know we have a name!' I felt terrible. It's just 'cause I don't look online much. But now I know—they're called the Robbers."
"The Robbers?" Thea giggles. "That's actually creative."
"I know, right? They're amazing. I hope they know it wasn't them—it was just me being clueless."
Suddenly Thea sits up straighter. "Wait, what was the question again?"
Margot laughs. "What's something your fans would be surprised to learn about you?"
"Oh! I'm highly allergic to nuts," Thea says quickly.
Margot makes a dramatic face. "Ohh, that's right. You were the reason I couldn't eat my peanut butter cups!"
Thea grimaces. "Yeah, sorry about that. It's the only thing I could think of off the top of my head... Oh! And I can touch my nose with my tongue."
She demonstrates and Margot breaks into laughter.
Thea grins. "Alright, Queen of the Robbers—if you could take one personality trait of mine, what would it be?"
Margot doesn't hesitate. "There are so many. But I think your quick wit. You always have this sharp, funny comeback ready. It's very cool and effortless."
Thea blushes. "Thanks."
"I mean, if I come up with a good comeback, I get so excited. I'm like, '...and then!'"
Thea repeats the phrase, laughing. "'And then!'"
Margot waves her hand. "Nowhere near as cool."
"Everyone's left. Everyone's gone," Thea shrugs playfully.
Margot cracks up. "Yeah." she straightens up a bit. "Okay, serious question. We've both played a pretty wide range of roles—what kind of role would you want to take on next?"
Thea shrugs. "I've always wanted to do more action."
Margot lifts a brow. "We were literally just in an action movie."
"No, yeah, totally," Thea says quickly. "I just love action. I love stunts, fighting, choreography—all of it. I didn't get to do too many stunts in Birds of Prey because of my age, but I'd love to do more high-intensity stuff. Like, full-on."
Margot nods thoughtfully. "You'd be amazing in that."
Thea takes the next turn. "Okay. What scene from Birds of Prey was the most challenging for you to film?"
Margot grins. "Honestly? Staying professional. It was hard to get through a take without laughing. The vibe on set was just so fun and positive."
Thea nods. "We literally filmed in a funhouse. It was so hard to stay focused."
Margot looks down at the next card, smirking before glancing at Thea.
Thea squints. "Is it a good one?"
Margot tries to act casual. "Yes."
"Is it about you?"
Margot nods. "You're allowed to talk about me."
"Oh, great." Thea laughs. "What is it?"
Margot reads the card with a grin. "What was your reaction when you found out we'd be working together?"
Thea lights up. "Oh, I was so excited. I've always thought you were brilliant and fearless as an actor—I really looked up to you. Every role you take on is completely different, and you just commit. You're like, 'Well, I'm in it now, so I'm just gonna go for it.'" Margot smiles softly as Thea continues. "And being able to share this whole experience with someone who's not only so sweet but also just... normal? Like, you've got your core people and your crew, and it's really inspiring to see someone so successful still grounded in that."
Margot leans over and wraps her arm around Thea. "Aww, thanks. Love you, T."
Muffled in their hug, Thea replies, "You're welcome."
