hoseok: ❝ just yesterday ❞
Note: all words in only italics are flashbacks of the memories they talk about.
Time flies fast.
You think so. You are sure even Hoseok thinks the same. You stand on the doorstep of your house, with Hoseok arms wrapped around you, watching your daughter run off to her boyfriend for her first date.
You see how the boy smiles when he sees his girlfriend approaching but he tilts his face to see you both. He bows and smiles softly at you both before opening the door of the car for her.
"The boy looks well mannered," Hoseok says.
"I have met him a few times before, he is, indeed, "you say and smile.
You both decide to rest for some time till your daughter comes back. You lie down on the bed, and your mind instantly thinks about the eighteen years you have spent with your lovely family.
'What are you thinking hun?" Hoseok asks. He shifts closer towards you, placing a hand on your chest and supporting his head with the other.
"Don't you think time went by too fast? Wasn't it just yesterday that we lay here and found out that we both were ticklish?"
"Are you ticklish?" You ask him, grazing your fingers against his side.
He shook his head, but you could already see the corners of his mouth turning up into a smile.
"Don't lie."
"I'm not." You began to tickle him, his loud laughter making you smile.
"Are you?" "No." You confidently replied.
He nodded but leaned forwards to grab onto your sides, his long fingers riding up underneath your shirt.
"I'm not ticklish."
Yet, as soon as his fingers attached to your sides you began to laugh too, the both of you tickling each other, trying to push the other away. The two of you found yourselves panting for breath when you eventually caved, letting him go.
"You lied to me," he teased, pressing a kiss to your cheek, "you're so ticklish."
"Let's just agree both of us are ticklish and it should never be done again."
"Agreed."
Hoseok laughs at the memory and shakes his head. "I know right, it just feels like yesterday that I found you both finishing the cake I bought for Yoongi Hyung,"
You elbow him slightly, feeling embarrassed about the memory.
It was rather quiet at home today. No cries, no screams, no blabbers or giggles.
Hoseok was expecting to come home to some mess laid out in the living room but instead, he met with complete silence. He called for you and your three-year-old daughter, multiple times but no one answered.
He makes his way towards their kitchen—hearing suspicious sounds coming from that particular room. He enters the room to see both his princesses spread on the couch with a half-eaten cake- which he recognises as Yoongi's birthday cake.
Hoseok groans and glances at his wife, contemplating whether he should scold her first or scold the three-year-old.
"Care to explain?"
A faint blush captures your cheek at the embarrassment of getting caught in the act of 'stealing cake'.
"She was hungry," you reply, "I was cutting vegetables and she already had her hands in the cake,"
Hoseok scoffs and shakes his head at what he just heard.
"Oh, my princess has grown so much huh? She is now able to open the fridge, remove the cake from the topmost shelf and make no noise,"
You grow red at his comment. Hoseok bent down to pat his daughter's head. You hear a babble escape her mouth as a reaction to her dad's touch.
'No, don't expose me sweetheart' you thought.
"That's how it happened...it was too late to save it," you murmur. Hoseok giggles slightly when he sees your pout. He brings his thumb to your lips and traces the lower one," Cake," he says.
"Huh?"
"There was some whipped cream here hun, by any chance did you help her too?"
You both break into giggles. You adore these ordinary little moments so much. "Do you remember our first date?"
"The one at the parking lot?" you giggle.
"Hey! It was lovely," he says. You see how his eyes become glassy and you cup his cheeks."Thank you for loving me," you say and kiss his nose.
"You too," he tries to hold back his tears by looking up for a moment before looking back into your eyes, "thank you for being with me," he says and pulls you into a kiss.
It was slow, filled with love. Love that never seemed to die or lessen. Love that grew stronger with time. The last thing you remember before you fell asleep was going on a date at the parking lot.
How you both lay on a deserted parking level, watching the stars, but it was such a big city with too much light so you just watched each other, realising again for the millionth time- how much you love each other.
