𝗔𝘃𝗮'𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩

"What?" I question in complete confusion.

"Where is Lincoln?!" She growls at me.

"Better question. Who is Lincoln?!" I reply and she loosens her grip on me slightly.

I take her confusion to my advantage and I kick her stomach causing her to drop her sword and let me go.

I try to run but she recovers quicker than I expected and tackles me to the ground, straddling my waist and using her knees to keep my arms pinned down.

"I'm not some untrained warrior you can just slaughter!" She warns me and I look at her in shock.

"You were there. You were at the waterfall when I killed that grounder" I gasp and she nods.

"I was supposed to finish you off" She states.

"Then why didn't you?" I ask curiously.

"You have potential to be a great warrior, sky girl. I seen that in you when you fought Delfi. You didn't fight with your head, you fought with your heart. That is rare in a warrior" She explains to me.

"I'm not a warrior" I argue.

"Not yet, but you will be" She replies and I frown.

"I don't know where your damn brother is!" I spit and she glares down at me.

I look up at her properly and I take in her features, from her slightly crooked nose to her piercing green eyes and sharp jaw line.

"My brother saved that little bitch's life and how do you animals repay him? By kidnapping him!" She hisses angrily.

"You're brother is the grounder who saved Octavia" I whisper in surprise and she looks down at me with a strange look in her eyes.

"I can help. I know how to get him out" I tell her and she narrows her eyes at me suspiciously.

"What do you get out of helping my brother?" She asks me.

"Nothing, but you saved my life back there. I owe you at least this" I explain.

She hesitates but pulls herself up and offers me her hand. I grab it and she yanks me to my feet.

"What's the plan?" She asks.

"All I need you to do is go to the waterfall. I'll do the rest" I assure her.

"You better pull through" She says sternly.

"I will" I nod.

I stare at her and she holds out her hand once again.

"I am Nova" She tells me.

"I'm Ava" I reply with a small smile.

She sweeps her sword off the ground and starts running in the direction of the waterfall. I rush back to camp and race into the drop ship. I run right into Clarke's back and she stumbles forward.

"Ava, there you are!" She huffs.

"What are you running from?" Bellamy asks me and I look up at him in surprise.

"Nothing" I reply a little too quickly.

"Anyways, the Ark found some old records that show a supply depot not too far from here" Clarke tells us.

"What kind of supplies?" Bellamy asks and my eyes wander over to Octavia who is just the girl I'm looking for.

"The kind that might give us a chance to live through winter" Clarke replies.

"I'm gonna go check it out. I could use back up" She adds and I look up at her in surprise.

"You want me to be your back up?" I question the older blonde.

"Why are you asking us?" Bellamy agrees.

"Well, because right now, I don't feel like being around anyone I actually like" She says to Bellamy then turns her head to me "As for you, you're the only one in camp that's fought with a grounder and won"

"She was untrained" I shrug.

"How do you know that?" Bellamy asks and I freeze up.

"I could just tell" I answer him bluntly, not looking at him.

"We'll get our stuff and meet you in ten" Bellamy tells the blonde and she nods, leaving the drop ship.

"You coming?" He then asks me.

"Actually, I have something I need to do first" I tell him nonchalantly and he furrows his brows in suspicion.

"I'll meet you and Clarke at the gate in ten" I assure him and he nods.

He exits the drop ship and I spin around, rushing to the ladders.

"We're not allowed up there" I hear Octavia say.

"You're not allowed up here. No one said I'm not" I correct her and she huffs, leaning back in her chair.

"Don't go anywhere, O. I need you to wait here" I tell her and she frowns a little but nods.

I climb up the ladders as quick as possible and knock on the top hatch. Miller opens the hatch and tries to shut it again when he sees me.

"Wait! I need to see him!" I yell, pushing it open again.

I climb out the hatch before Miller can protest and turn to the boy.

"Can you give us a minute? It's personal" I say vaguely and Miller looks at me as if I'm crazy.

"I won't tell Bellamy. No one will know" I assure him.

He hesitates but huffs and walks to the hatch.

"Five minutes, Ava. No more than that" He declares sternly and I grin.

"I only need two" I counter.

The hatch closes and I rush over to the grounder who looks at me in complete confusion.

"Lincoln, right?" I ask but he ignores me.

"I met your sister, Nova" I state and his eyes widen.

"Is she okay?" He asks, his voice raspy and rough.

"She's better than okay. A little violent and rude but definitely doing well" I assure him and he smiles a small smile.

"I'm gonna help get you out of here and when you do I need you to go to the waterfall. Nova will be there waiting for you" I explain and he narrows his eyes.

"Why would you do that for me?" He asks.

"You grounders aren't a trusting lot, are ya?" I joke.

"Can you blame me?" He retorts, nodding at his restraints.

"Okay, you've got a very fair point" I nod in agreement "Octavia obviously means a lot to you. She means a lot to me too, Lincoln. I'm doing this because not only is it the right thing to do, but I owe it to your sister and Octavia"

"Thank you" He says and I wave him off with a small smile.

"Anytime" I chirp.

I hear the hatch open and I see Miller pop his head in.

"Come on, Ava. Time's up" He rushes me out the room.

"All done, Nathan" I grin and he rolls his eyes at me.

I scramble down the stairs knowing I have about seven minutes to explain this to Octavia and get to the gate. Octavia jumps to her feet impatiently and I pull the girl closer to me.

"I'm going to tell you something, but you have to keep this between us" I tell her and she nods furiously.

"Okay. I need you to do me a huge favour, O" I state.

"Anything" She replies.

"I need you to sneak Lincoln out of camp" I say and she looks at me in surprise.

"How do you know his name is Lincoln?" She asks me.

"I know his sister" I answer.

"The girl that saved you from the spear that hit Roma?" Octavia asks.

"How do you know about that?" I ask in shock.

"Lincoln saved me from the same spear, I told you this. I seen her tackle you from where I was" She tells me.

"Oh...Well, yes. The girl who saved me from the spear. I promised her that I'd get her brother out of here, so I need you to get him out of camp as soon as you can. He knows what to do after that" I explain and Octavia nods.

"I can do that" She assures me.

"Please don't mess this up, O. My ass is on the line and Nova will not hesitate to unalive me" I plead and Octavia rolls her eyes.

"Trust me, A. I'll get him out of here" She states and I nod.

"Thank you" I smile and she shrugs.

"No problem" She replies.

I pat her back and dart out of the drop ship towards the gate.
