𝗔𝘃𝗮'𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩

Finn and I sit in a room alone, hiding from the chaos going on outside and it's a long time before he speaks up.

"Ava, we have to talk about this" Finn states.

"I refuse to talk about you dying, Finn" I snap from my place across the room.

"Then let me do the talking" He pleads.

I stay silent, letting him know that i'll listen and he nods, accepting my nonverbal okay.

"If I die today, I don't want you to be sad forever. I don't want you to cry every time you think of me. I want you to smile and remember that i'm always with you, yeah?" He speaks and angry tears run down my face.

"How do you expect me to just accept that? If you die today it's going to kill me, Finn! How the hell can you stand there and ask me to move on? To smile. I don't even think i'll be able to function without you here!" I scream, standing up and walking towards him.

"Do you think i'm okay with leaving you? Because i'm not, Ava! I am not okay with it! I don't want to die. I want to be with you. I want to get our friends out Mount Weather. I want finally have peace. I want us all to wake up and not fear that today is the day we die. I want to live!" He shouts at me and I watch as tears roll down his face.

"Promise me that no matter what happens today you won't leave me" I beg desperately.

"You know I can't promise you that" He says sadly and I let out a sob, turning away from him and running my hands through my hair in frustration.

I walk back to the other side of the room and slide down the wall, holding my head in my hands. Finn walks over and sits down next to me, pulling me into his arms.

"I need you to promise me something" He whispers.

"Anything" I whisper back.

"If I die, don't push Bellamy away. He deserves someone as amazing as you. Let him in, okay?" He asks and my grip on Finn tightens.

"Okay" I nod.

The metal door opens and I look up through my clouded vision to see Bellamy and Raven.

"Kane's back. Abby is meeting with him and Jaha" Bellamy tells us.

"Go on" Finn nudges me forward.

I place a kiss on his forehead as another tear runs down my cheek.

"I'll be right back" I assure him and he smiles at me.

"Come on, tiger" Raven says, grabbing my hand in hers which i'm extremely grateful for.

Bellamy leads the way and we head for the meeting room, waiting outside for Abby to come out. After a while of waiting in complete silence, I manage to pull myself together and Abby walks into the hallway.

"What's happening?" Raven immediately asks her as we jump to our feet.

"You were in there a long time" Bellamy comments.

"There was a lot to talk about" Abby replies as we walk with her.

"Well, what's going on?" I ask.

"There was a lot to talk about" Abby repeats.

"Hey. We are not turning him over to the grounders!" Bellamy snaps, getting in Abby's way.

"Step aside now" Abby orders him and he does as he's told.

"We're all trying to find a way out of this" She states before walking away from us.

"They're gonna give him up" Bellamy says.

"Not if I have anything to do with it" I snap, turning to Raven.

"I'm on it" She agrees.

I turn to Bellamy and he nods before we head back to B corridor.

"Finn!" Bellamy shouts and I see Clarke is with him.

"You need to get out of here" I tell him.

"Where would he go?" Clarke asks.

"The drop ship" Bellamy answers.

"No! You know that this is the safest place for him right now!" Clarke argues as we all walk away.

"It isn't if they're turning on him. We can protect him at the drop ship until we figure this thing out. Grab your gear and meet me at Raven's gate in five" Bellamy snaps.

"She's already working on cutting the power to the fence" I add.

"Okay, but nobody's coming with me" Finn states.

"That isn't up for discussion. Tell him, Bellamy" I declare.

"What she said" Bellamy nods.

"We are surrounded by grounders" Clarke argues once again.

"If we split up, we take the low ground, we'll make it through. We'll meet at the drop ship" Bellamy explains.

"There he is! You are gonna get us killed!" The man I punched shouts with a crowd of men behind him.

He raises a crow bar to attack Finn but Bellamy hits him in the gut with his gun making the man fall to the ground.

"Anyone else?!" Bellamy barks.

"They're right. We have to go" Clarke tells Finn.

I push him and Clarke drags him away, Bellamy and I turn to follow but one of the men harshly grabs me by my arm.

I elbow him in the face and kick the back of his knees, making him fall. I then grab his hair roughly and yank his head back, flipping out my new switchblade and holding it to the man's throat.

"If you touch me again, I'll chop off your fingers and make you eat them" I growl out angrily.

"That goes for all you buffoons as well" I warn the rest and they all hold up their hands in surrender.

Bellamy hits the man on his knees in the head and grabs my arm, pulling me along as I pocket my switchblade. I grip the strap of my quiver right and head straight to the gate, knowing I already have all my gear on me.

Raven arrives and lets me out, telling me to go straight to the drop ship. I give her a quick hug before exiting through the side door and sprinting out into the forest.

As i'm running I hear a twig snap and I spin around but i'm too late as the grounder jumps on me. My shoulder hits the tree behind me and a pain shoots through my healing leg due to the weight.

I manage to push the grounder back and move away from the tree he backed me into. He runs at me and I see the anger clear on his face, making me smirk.

lesson one, never let anger cloud your judgement

I dodge his attack and grab his shoulder, using the tree next to me to jump onto his shoulders. I wrap my legs around his neck and lean back making the both of us hit the ground with a thud.

He claws at my legs, desperately trying to free himself from my grip but I only tighten my hold and put him to sleep.

"Nighty night" I chirp, pulling myself to my feet.

I carry on running through the trees, this time being more cautious and quiet.

Only two minutes away from the drop ship I hear grunting and a thud. I curse at my curiosity and run in the direction of the noises.

When I reach it, I hide behind a boulder and peek out to see Murphy being strangled by a grounder. I grab my bow and nock in an arrow, showing myself.

"Get the hell off him!" I holler and the grounder looks up at me in surprise.

"Run" I warn him and he does just that, scrambling to his feet and running away.

I put my arrow and bow back into my quiver before stepping forward to hold my hand out to a smirking Murphy.

"My saviour" He jokes, grabbing my hand.

"I'm always happy to help a damsel in distress" I reply teasingly.

Murphy flicks my nose and I laugh, pushing him.

"How did you know about this?" I ask curiously as we walk.

"Raven told me to come" He shrugs.

"That's new" I say in surprise.

"I know" He snorts.

We reach the drop ship and Murphy heads in first, letting me follow behind him.

"Ooh! Hey! Hey! Hey!" Murphy says, putting his hands up.

"Murphy?" Bellamy asks and I push Murphy aside to see Raven stood next to Bellamy who is aiming his gun at us.

"Ava" Bellamy greets me, putting down his gun and I nod at him.

"What are you doing here?" Bellamy asks Murphy.

"I believe I was invited" Murphy answers, making me roll my eyes with a smile.

"I thought we could use an extra gun" Raven explains.

"Might be a good idea" Bellamy nods.

"Finn should have been right behind you" Raven states.

"Finn's not here yet?" I ask in worry.

"Don't worry. Spacewalker is gonna be fine" Murphy assures us, walking further into the drop ship.

We sit around for a while before Finn suddenly rushes into the drop ship with a limp Clarke in his arms. We all jump up, running to them.

"What happened?!" Bellamy snaps.

"Is she okay?" I question worriedly.

"A grounder hit her on the head" Finn explains.

"Put her here" Murphy says and Finn lays her down.

They all turn to me expectantly and I kneel by the blonde, assessing the damage the grounder has given her.

"I need a bandage! Or a rag!" I order.

"I got it! Here" Murphy says, handing me a clean rag.

"Hold her head" I tell him and he does as I say.

"Blondie, can you hear me?" I ask but she doesn't answer.

"Goddamnit, Clarke!" I curse and she stirs, allowing me to sigh in relief.

"Hey" I breathe out, sweeping her hair out her face.

"You're gonna be just fine. You just need to rest" I tell her and she hums in understanding, making me smile.

I hear walking behind me and turn my head to see Finn storm out of the drop ship. I turn my head further to see a frustrated Raven and I gesture to the door, telling her to go get him.

She huffs and exits to run after him which pushes down my anxiety a little. I start to clean Clarke up and then Raven returns.

"I'm gonna check the perimeter. Come on, Murphy" Bellamy states.

The two boys leave and Finn enters the drop ship right after.

"Hey, Raven, can you finish up here? I need some fresh air" I smile and my best friend nods.

I shoot Finn a warm smile before heading outside to let them talk. As I hop off the ramp, Murphy and Bellamy come into view.

"Anything out here?" I ask and they shake their heads.

"Anything in there?" Bellamy asks.

"She's not awake yet" I tell him.

Suddenly an arrow flies through the air and cuts my cheek as it whizzes past, a sharp sting left in its wake.

"Son of a bitch!" I shriek, grabbing my cheek as Bellamy drags me behind a large chunk of wood.

"We got company! Get out here!" Bellamy screams to the others inside.
