IT HAD BEEN a couple of weeks since the group had arrived at the Volturi and surprisingly they had been welcoming and not tried to kill any of them.

Caius wasn't too pleased about it but they weren't expecting hospitality from him- or any of them. Jane and Alec had been assigned to watch them just in case they planned to do anything so they were always spotted nearby and Felix had been challenged to an arm wrestle by Emmett on multiple occasions which always ended in a few cracked fingers and a tie.

Demetri and James had been getting along as if they were brothers, messing around and going hunting together which wasn't really a surprise to either of their mates. Heidi, Rosalie and Victoria got on really well, going shopping around Volterra and coming back with truckloads of clothes and Selina enjoyed being around Renata who usually hung around Aro.

All in all, they felt more like they belonged in the Volturi then they ever had anywhere else.

On Saturday, Selina was wondering around the castle in search of Jane; Aro had requested to see her and since the brunette wasn't busy, she volunteered to fetch her. The castle was very large so on the way she asked some lower guards if they had seen her and eventually arrived at the door of the blonde vampire.

She reached her hand up and knocked on the door but there was no reply.

"Jane?" She heard movement on the other side of the door but there was still no reply "I can hear you"

When Jane continued to ignore her, she twisted the door handle and walked into the room. The blonde was sat on her windowsill looking down at the garden below and didn't even bat an eyelash at the intrusion which was a surprise considering she would normally send pain through her body.

Selina made her way next to the girl and placed a hand on her shoulder "Are you okay?" She asked softly and she shook her head "what's wrong?"

"Alec is going to find his mate soon" she answered after a long silence but didn't look away fron the window.

"How do you know?"

"Misha" she answered simply but when Selina looked lost she continued "she can give you a rough estimate of when you're going to meet your mate. Alec told me that she had let him know that he was going to meet his mate in the next couple of weeks"

"Is that a bad thing?" The brunette asked, moving to sit on the other side of the window sill.

"No...but I don't want to be left alone" she told her before shaking her head "I don't know why I'm telling you this, you don't care"

"I do care Jane" she reassured before moving to hug the blonde who tensed before relaxing into it "but your brother loves you, you and him have been together since you were born and that's not going to change just because he finds his mate. Maybe you'll just have someone else to care about"

She seemed to be thinking for a minute before she pulled back and a small smile tugged at her lips.

"Thank you" she whispered and the woman nodded "did you need something?"

"Oh, Aro wanted to see you" the blondes eyes widened before she was gone "goodbye to you too" she muttered to herself before leaving the room and going to find Renata.

As usual, the woman was found a few metres away from Aro inside the throne room and Selina didn't even think before she walked into the room- she walked right into the middle of an execution.

She stood by Renata's side and everyone just continued to do what they were doing, the brunettes interruption was about the norm.

"Isn't that Anthenodora?" She asked quietly and Chelsea nodded with a frown on her face "why is she on trial"

"She's not Caius' mate" Renata murmered and the rest of the vampires in the room who were just as confused listened in on the explanation "she pretended and used her...ability to hide the truth"

"Oh" she glanced at Caius who looked as angry as ever "so she's dead dead"

At that moment, the ex-queens head was sent rolling across the floor and her body set aflame by none other than the blonde king.

"Everyone out!" He growled and the room was soon empty except the three kings.

...

I was just thinking I have no idea where I sent Laurent...

But he's gonna be returning and its gon be goooood.

Also I'm planning on finishing this book as soon as I can so expect a lot of chapter updates over the next couple weeks.

I want to finish It but i do have school now so maybe I'm lying...
