I may have added something a little interesting~
"Bakugou!"
"Kaachan!"
Blood hits your cheek, and before you knew it, you helplessly watch Bakugou fall. Your hand failed to reach him and just like that, his body disappeared. The cries of his name were all you could fathom as claps of thunder roared in your eardrums. Flashes of lightning suddenly became a struggle for Kirishima to remain in the air, yet the halfling bellowed for his best friend. Staring blankly at the clouds below you, a sense of guilt and anguish roiled inside you. Perhaps this was the punishment bakugou spoke about—where he deserved whatever he got for helping you. You never wanted this. If Bakugou died because of you—you would never forgive yourself. Knowing you could've prevented or fallen with him, time wasn't on your side.
Emotions ran wild between you three, and with those tampered emotions, you look the enemy dead in the eye. Hawks was unphased by your choleric face because he underestimated you, a judgment he'd later regret when lightning struck the palm of your hand. With one hand, you tighten your grasp on the saddle, discharging the lightning from your trembling palm and striking his fierce wings. The attack caused Hawks wings to catch ablaze, making him lose his balance. However, you jerk on the bridles, still sullen at the man. Kirishima snarled, nose shooting out embers.
"Kirishima...Get him out of my sight!" You yelled, turning Kirishima so his tail would hit Hawks without fail. The man screams as he was sent flying and you bellowed. Shaking your hand dismissed the lightning sparks in your fingertips and stared at said hand. Your first time using lightning magic is all that came to mind. Tapping on Izuku's hands, holding your waist, he hummed and removed his hands. Still wearing Bakugou's cloak, you wiped your eyes as the rain began to fall on your heads.
"Find him, please!" You plead, returning your hands to the saddle. Kirishima shook his head, diving down where his nose directs him towards the ground. Water hits you and Izuku while the ground came into view. Far from Musutafu, you could see the village from this height, and by now, the fire Bakugou caused would've been extinguished. The dragon flew over a large body of water, following his nose. You and Izuku scanned the area to see if you'd be able to find the injured dragon king anywhere.
"Do your best, Kirishima," You assured him, feeling the halfling's sadness. Izuku's eyes are on the hunt for his childhood friend. Worried, you frowned, bringing a hand to your cheek. Your fingers picked up Bakugou's blood and closed that hand in a fist. Holding your hand out with the blood, you say. "Here use this! It's his blood."
Kirishima's nose flared as he smelt the blood. Flapping his wings, he got closer and closer to a scent, becoming faint. He let out a sound, making you reach down and pet between his horns. Nearing the shore, you caught a glimpse of a lump in the water, wafting. Pulling back on the saddle, you brought Kirishima to an alarming halt. Once the dragon hovers above the water, you loomed over the side for a better look. From where you peeked, you saw bits of blonde hair and blue jewellery around his neck, floating face down in the water.
"Bakugou...Wait for me on land, Izuku," You ordered, slipping his cloak off your shoulders before your own. Dropping your things in Izuku's lap, you let go of the saddle. You ran along Kirishima's back with no intention of stopping.
"Y/n!" Izuku called out but you didn't listen and held your breath. Diving into the water, not caring about your clothes getting wet. The cold fluidity welcomed you, slimy thin weeds grazed your skin as you moved through the frigid murky water. Tiny fish, swimming in groups, fleed at your presence invading their home. Kicking your feet, You swan in the direction of Bakugou's body, his blood making the water around him appear red. His wings came into view just as your hands grabbed hold of his shoulders. His eyes were closed, his body twitching with no bubbles escaping out of his nose or mouth.
At this rate, he'll drown, You panicked internally, thinking of ways to keep him alive until you can bring him to the shore. Taking his face between your hands, you pressed your lips to his, sharing whatever oxygen you had to spare with him. It was the only option you could think of on the spot, unaware of Bakugou's eyes opened briefly. His arms relaxed and his head leaned in, not that you noticed.
Forgive me, Bakugou. Giving him your first kiss made your face burn, but feelings aside, you had a life to save. Looping your arms under his and around his back, your palms glowed a very luminous blue. Water magic should get us back to Izuku and Kirishima.
You feel your body being pulled towards the shore despite the weight of his wings. You kept him close, careful of his wound until the water shot you out. Gasping out a breath, your hit the ground with a thud and Bakugou's body on top of you. Groaning, you laid him down on his back whilst your breathing came out as pants. There's a long silence but eventually, you would hear Bakugou cough up the water in his mouth.
"Don't move," You rushed to his side, seeing his eyes fluttering. Lifting him up by his back, you rest your hand on his chest and began to use healing magic on his wound. Without the light of the angelic moon, your hands radiate a bright light. It's how Bakugou is able to see your doleful expression looking down at him. Yet your smile attempted to hide all of it. Shaking, Bakugou's hand moves off the ground and rests on top of yours. Taking that hand into your own, you shushed the man in your arms. "Save your strength,"
Before he could usher out a word, Bakugou would drift out of consciousness and that same hand would suddenly grow cold to the touch. You then feel Bakugou's wings beginning to shrink beneath his shoulder blades. Hearing Izuku's voice, your head looked away and you shout. "Izuku!"
"Kaachan!" Screamed the green haired boy; he quickly scampered over to your side, taking over in helping Bakugou off the ground. "Me and Kirishima found a cavern nearby!"
"Good. The quicker we get Bakugou in there, the quicker I can tend to his wounds," You explained. Izuku leads you into the woods, you come across a cavern underground. It was large enough to accommodate Kirishima's monstrous size. To save yourself the trouble, you outgrew the shrubs growing out of the cracks to act as cover.
The second you and Izuku entered the cave, Kirishima purred, happy to see Bakugou alive. Izuku lies him down on a blanket you placed down by Kirishima. Placing your hand on Kirishima's arm, you asked the dragon to move it closer to Bakugou for extra warmth and comfort. Smiling at him assured Kirishima and yourself.
"Here...I have some things to help with the wound," Izuku tells you, showing you the things in his bag after he covered your cold body with your cloak. Inside, mixed with a cape, you found a needle, clothed bandages, and a knife, but no thread the main object needed for stitches.
"I have some herbs in my bag," You pointed out, taking out the items from his bag. Izuku retrieved the herbs right as you asked him to crush them into a paste. Picking up Izuku's knife, you resorted to a different tactic for tending to Bakugou's wound, such as cauterizing. A method of healing your mother taught you to use in case of emergencies.
Refusing to rest, you worked on Bakugou's injuries. Kirishima provided the fire to heat the blade of Izuku's knife. Once the blade burned red, you dragged the flat surface along the cut, searing it closed, causing the blonde to squirm. You paused for a moment, doing it again and again as you continued muttering apology after apology. It worked on his shoulder, seeing as the cut is disappearing. The problems of cauterizing the injury left burns on his skin. Luckily, Izuku managed to grind the herbs. Taking the herbs into your hands, you lather the paste all over the cut.
"Once again...you saved my life..." You spoke softly, wrapping his chest in the bandages. Ensuring you covered the wound completely, you adjusted his jewellery. "Being half-human and half-dragon makes you pretty lucky...if you were just human, you would've been dead, and I'll forever be in your debt."
Moving his cape over the bandages, you were satisfied by your handiwork. "I'll thank you again after you wake up,"
I hope you enjoyed this chapter <3
