maybe soo-ah couldn't do this.

she watched her roommate, miya, sleep soundly as she forced herself out of bed. she flinched ever-so-slightly at the feeling of the cold wood floor against her feet.

soo-ah would do anything to let her head hit her pillow once more, to doze off. instead, she had practice. practice before the sun even came up shouldn't be allowed, she thought.

she sighed after throwing on practice clothes and brushing her teeth. she was running late and didn't have time for breakfast. she made a mental note to head down to the cafeteria when she had a break, if she ever got one.

she saw another trainee in her same program, minho, walking a few steps in front of her. he was the best looking, everyone knew it. if she was being honest, she had a tiny crush on him.

she called out his name and he turned, eyes furrowed in confusion. his face lit up in recognition once stopped the girl, beckoning her over. he was surprisingly energetic for a trainee about to practice at four thirty in the morning.

"hey," she greeted through a breath, "i'm so tired, aren't you?" he laughed, "hi. not really. i went to bed early last night. didn't want to get too tired for such a long day, you know?" they began walking to the practice room together. she noticed that his voice had no emotion in it whatsoever, completely contrasting the warmth radiating off his face, his fidgety hands, and his speech being faster than normal.

"are you sure you just went to bed early?" she pressed him, though it was more in a joking manner. his smile faded quickly, before he plastered it on once more. creepy.

"can i trust you?" he whispered, suddenly stopping in his tracks. she stopped next to him, suspiciously looking him up and down. "yeah..?" she whispered after a moment.

he didn't respond, instead looked both ways to make sure the coast was clear. he then took a small bag out of his pocket, a white powder in it. it took her moment to realize what it was.

she could only laugh at the absurdity of the situation, "no you didn't!" she giggled. he joined her in laughter, explaining himself. "there- there was a party last night. i'll invite you next time." she nodded, "alright!" she took note of his red eyes. how didn't she notice earlier?

his voice suddenly lowered an octave, "you want to try some?" her face got hot at the question. "uh, no thanks. we have practice in like, fifteen minutes."

his grin was wiped clean off his face, "come on, soo-ah. just do it? it'll be fun. and if you're coming to the next party, you don't wanna be the loser not doing coke."

"i'm not sure, minho... i don't think it's for me." she didn't realize it, but minho had caged her against the wall. the baggy dangled in front of her face, "you'll never know until you try."

she looked around to see if anyone had caught them- no one had. "fine," she grumbled. doing cocaine once won't hurt, right?

she let minho grab her hand and drag her to the nearest one-stall bathroom. he laid the powder out in a clean line on the counter, cutting it with a spare debit card he had in his pocket.

she watched him snort the coke with a straw and the situation suddenly dawned on her. she was twelve years old snorting coke in a yg bathroom with a hot sixteen year old. how the fuck did she get here?

he handed the straw to her and she put it up to her nose with shaky hands. she took a breath and snorted. almost immediately, she started coughing.

minho insisted that she took just one more sniff once she calmed down, and she complied. what was one more gonna do?

she checked the time on her phone, 4:25. they had five minutes to get to the practice room. it was on the other side of building.

he grabbed her hand and together they ran, making it just in time. all heads turned to the pair holding hands as they entered the room, and she dropped his hand quickly.

hyolin smirked and wiggled her eyebrows at her as she approached. "don't tell me you bagged the hottest guy here," she started. soo-ah laughed hard, despite it not even being funny.

hyolin sent her a questioning look but said nothing, waiting for her to speak. "no-no, we just ran here together and didn't want to get separated. i saw him in the hallway and we talked- that's why we're late."

hyolin hummed in acknowledgement, standing up as a dance instructor entered the room. she stood up too, slightly wobbling on her way up. she leaned on hyolin for support. "are you okay? your face is flushed." soo-ah giggled, "i'm all good. just over tired, i think."

she tried her best to copy the moves the instructor was teaching, her moves lazy at best. she kept making eye contact with minho in the mirror, who seemed much better at hiding the fact that he just snorted cocaine. she didn't think she was high, more so dazed because she just took cocaine. there was no way she got high that quickly. still, he smiled at her every time they made eye contact.

a few minutes go by, and a heavy knock was heard from the door. the instructor told everyone to take five as he opened the door. a staff member on the other side greeted him. they spoke in hushed voices before the instructor called out her name.

she didn't hear it nor notice it until hyolin shook her. "girl, get up! they're calling you!" she whisper-screamed. "oh. huh? what? okay!" she got up and made her way to the staff member.

"the ceo wants to talk to you," is what the staff member explained. fear rushed through her veins. was she getting kicked? she wouldn't let that happen. it was only her second week.

she walked in awkward silence with the staff until they reached his office. his secretary knocked and after getting his approval, let soo-ah in.

"hello, pd-nim," she greeted with a bow. he stood up out of his chair, bowing and sitting back down. "hello, soo-ah. you may sit." she thanked him and sat.

she looked around his office for a moment. she thought it was cool that his walls changed colors and shapes. how he focused with it, she would never know.

"you're a one-of-a-kind trainee, soo-ah," he started, bringing her attention back to him. were his eyes changing colors too? she wished her eyes did that.
"thank you, sir," she forced out, trying to ignore the flashing colors surrounding her.

"i mean it. i've been keeping a watchful eye on you ever since you auditioned. i wanted to see how you reacted to this advanced trainee program, and so far, you've excelled." she was about to thank him once more but he cut her off.

"i don't normally do this, meet with trainees. but i thought you deserved this news from me. i'm going to put you in the lineup of our new girl group, pink punk. if i'm correct, you've already met with lalisa?"

"yes sir, i have." he smiled. "great. this opportunity is once in a lifetime. you'll start training with the girls tomorrow. thank you for everything."

she had no words. her dream was coming true. how was this possible? the shapes and colors stopped changing behind the man, the wall became a solid beige.

"thank- thank you so much for this, pd-nim. i promise, i won't let you down. you won't regret this." he only laughed, "i'm sure i won't. you may leave back to your dorm for the rest of the day, soo-ah."

she thanked him, bowed once more, and left his office. she almost screamed in joy once making it out into the corridor.

after getting comfy in pajamas ( it was six in the morning ) she laid in bed. miya was in the same position that soo-ah last saw her in.

she curled up into a ball, smiling to herself. her smile turned into a much larger one once she realized what had just occurred.

she was high as fuck, absolutely gone, in the ceo's office. and nothing happened. it felt good, it felt really good. maybe she'd go back to minho later in the week.

she giggled to herself, thinking once more about the pinkpunk girls. she just hoped they'd accept her as a new member...
