CHAPTER NINE
When he is a well known photographer, who is absolutely obsessed with butterflies but you have fear of Lepidopterophobia
------ ✯ ✯✯ ------
The week passed in the blink of an eye, and before Y/N knew it, she found herself standing on the set of her first photoshoot at Flower Valley. The scenery was as breathtaking as she’d imagined, but the moment was overwhelming. Her nerves prickled as she watched the flurry of staff setting up an array of equipment, most of which she couldn’t even name. Meanwhile, two stylists worked meticulously on her hair and makeup, perfecting every detail.
"How are you feeling?" Taehyung’s voice broke through her thoughts as he adjusted his glasses, the soft rasp of his tone grounding her.
"Super nervous," Y/N admitted, fidgeting with her fingers. "I didn’t realise there’d be so many people here." Her hands grew clammy at the sheer magnitude of it all.
Taehyung studied her for a moment, his expression thoughtful. "I see. If it helps, we can make this more private—just the two of us. I know it’s your first time doing something like this, and honestly," he added with a small, reassuring smile, "it’s my first time photographing someone professionally."
Y/N’s lips curled into a grateful smile. "I’d like that."
Taehyung nodded, his smile widening as he turned to address the team. "Alright, everyone, I’m ready to start! I’d like to take some shots with Y/N alone, so feel free to take a break for now."
The crew complied, filing out until the field was quiet, leaving only the two of them beneath the dappled shade of the tree—the very spot where they had first met.
"What should I do?" Y/N asked, stepping carefully under the tree.
"Let’s start simple. I’ll take some natural shots to find your best angles. Just pretend I’m not here," Taehyung advised, his voice gentle, as though coaxing her out of her shell.
Taking a deep breath, Y/N eased herself onto the grass, her gaze drifting into the distance. Through his lens, Taehyung admired how perfectly she embodied the simplicity of the moment. Her white silk blouse and matching skirt flowed effortlessly in the soft breeze, casting an almost ethereal glow. She looked like an angel brought to life.
As they worked through different poses and angles, Y/N gradually loosened up, her initial tension giving way to a newfound ease. At one point, Taehyung paused to tuck a golden flower behind her ear, carefully placing a delicate blue butterfly atop it.
"Perfect," he whispered to himself, almost inaudibly.
When Y/N met his gaze through the lens, something shifted. Her wide, innocent eyes softened, adopting a sultry, magnetic quality that left Taehyung momentarily breathless.
Deciding to change the setting, they ventured further into the field. Y/N twirled amidst the sea of flowers, her laughter ringing out as a swarm of butterflies surrounded her. Unlike before, when the mere sight of them would have sent her screaming, she now smiled radiantly, captivated by their graceful dance.
"She’s a natural," Yoongi remarked, approaching Taehyung with Ji-eun.
"She really is," Taehyung agreed, his voice tinged with pride.
"Why don’t you join her for a few shots, Tae? I’ll handle the camera," Yoongi offered, slipping off his jacket.
Taehyung hesitated for only a moment before nodding, handing over the camera. He removed his glasses and tucked them into Yoongi’s coat pocket before walking toward Y/N.
Dressed head-to-toe in black, Taehyung was a stark contrast to Y/N, who was radiant in her all-white attire. Together, they were like light and shadow—a striking juxtaposition that drew the eye.
"Shall we take a few pictures together?" he asked softly.
Y/N glanced up from the flowers, her breath catching as she took him in. She’d never seen him without his glasses before, and the difference was startling—in the best way possible. Without a word, she nodded, allowing him to guide her.
Yoongi captured the pair as they played in the field, shared laughter on the swings, and posed by the serene lake. Their chemistry was undeniable, and the way they naturally complemented one another was almost poetic.
The rest of the week was filled with shoots in varying settings and concepts. Taehyung experimented with props and lighting, pushing his creative boundaries. His favourite shoot, however, was the one by the lake at night.
Y/N wore a flowing dark blue dress, her feet dipping into the cool water. Fireflies lit up the scene with their soft green glow, adding an otherworldly charm. Simple white butterflies adorned her hair, and one rested delicately on her fingertip. She looked like a dream, a muse brought to life.
Now, as they boarded a plane to Seoul for the final studio shots, Y/N sat beside Taehyung, Ji-eun, and Yoongi. The exhibit’s opening was just over a week away, and everything was coming together beautifully.
Taehyung glanced at Y/N, a quiet satisfaction settling over him.
Perhaps she was the muse he had been searching for.
In the past, his inspiration had always been butterflies, their delicate beauty unmatched in his eyes. But now, as he thought of Y/N, he realised something profound: her beauty transcended theirs. Where butterflies were fleeting and fragile, she was radiant and enduring.
Perhaps one love could, indeed, be replaced by another.
