as soon as donghyuck enters his room, he flops himself on the bed, closing his eyes. johnny follows, looking at the younger worriedly.

"are you sure you're okay, haechannie? ever since that fight between you and renjun, you've been slacking off. we're so worried. it's the first time you two had a serious fight."

donghyuck opens his eyes and glances at his hyung, sighing deeply. he gets up and sits on his bed, leaning his back on the headboard.

"i didn't mean to have a fight with him. i was just so stressed for this comeback plus the fact that he... he, uhm..." he stops himself and bites on his bottom lip. "n-nothing."

"he... what?" johnny sits on the edge of the bed, looking at the younger. "you can tell me if you want."

he pokes his tongue in his cheek. "hot sauce and hello future era gave us the opportunity to be more and more close to each other to the point where... we almost don't bicker anymore, even on live. i don't know, it's just, i know i like him and... i'm becoming more attached to him as the days passed and he became more acceptant of my affections, but i feel like... if we continue to be like this, we might hurt each other someday."

"why?" johnny genuinely asks.

"because," he pauses, "there are hindrance to our relationship."

his roommate widen his eyes, "you're dating?"

donghyuck shrugs, "i don't know, i thought we were."

"dude, what the heck!" johnny exclaims in english. "you should talk to him about this. you two deserve a happy relationship."

"happy?" donghyuck chuckles, "i don't know what i am gonna say to him."

johnny's about to speak when they heard donghyuck's phone ringtone. someone just messaged him.

he unlocks his phone to see who might it be. as kinda expected, it's from renjun.

baby ♡ :

let's talk.

"fuck." he mumbles.

"what did he say?" johnny asks curiously.

"he wants to talk." donghyuck replies, holding his phone like he's about to type something.

"then go ahead."

donghyuck sighs again before replying.

Me :

okay.

baby ♡ :

meet me outside the
building.

"go! go! go!" johnny cheers him up.

donghyuck presses his lips together and gets off his bed. he grabs his hoodie and cap from his closet and quickly puts it on before running outside the dorm.

renjun's wearing a hoodie a bit larger than him (because the hoodie is donghyuck's) as he's waiting for his lover outside the building. thankfully there are no fans lurking around and stalking.

"renjun-ah." someone's deep voice startles him. he turns around and sees donghyuck standing in front of him, hands in his pockets.

"donghyuck-ah!" he suddenly pulls him into a hug that made donghyuck a bit surprised but chuckles and hugs the older back.

"renjun, i'm sorry." he suddenly says, whispering as he stays being hugged by renjun.

the older pulls away and looks up at donghyuck with a pout, "i'm sorry too. i... i just don't want to cause any issues. we can remain more than friends but let's be less of lovers." he then looks down and plays with his fingers.

"i don't understand you." the younger softly says, furrowing his eyebrows, "more than friends but less of lovers? i—"

renjun sighs, looks up at him again. "i don't understand myself either. i just want to protect the both of us from the risk of having scandals and issues. because, i know i don't say it much but, i love you."

donghyuck stares down at renjun's eyes and he feels like he's levitating as he stares back. his gaze is so hypnotizing.

"you always bring happiness to my heart, renjun. i want to bring happiness to you, too."

"donghyuck, you always make me happy. i swear, you do." renjun smiles bitterly, "let's just be friends for now. maybe someday, we can be in a relationship, without the risks, and you know, negative stuff. just the two of us, being very happy."

renjun holds his hand as donghyuck smiles back. the smile that he always adores, the smile that made him fall for him.

donghyuck nods, understanding him. "that's fine, i guess. i don't want us to be hurt either." donghyuck grasps his lover's hand and kisses the back of it. "but if you're ready to risk it all, just tell me. i'm always down for you."

renjun softly laughs and nods, "okay." they hug again for few seconds before pulling apart. "would you like to go out?"

"with you?" donghyuck laughs softly, "of course!"

"hey, haechannie?" donghyuck just hums. "do you want to know what i put in my phone as your contact name?"

"what?"

"love of my life."

donghyuck smiles sweetly and interlaces his fingers into renjun's. "i'm glad to be the only one to see this side of you. so sweet, and so cute for me. i love you."
