||Personality||
Knox is often described as practical. No matter the situation, his priority is on how to manage it as quickly and efficiently as possible. Needless to say, this can mean he is a little ruthless in how he conducts himself. Because he needs things to get done when and how he wants them, he is more than happy to take morally questionable actions to achieve this. One doesn't survive as a human in the winter court without learning how to live with a little blood on his hands. Singleminded is a word that has too often tripped off the tongue of people who have known him, and he can't really blame them. His whole life has been about achieving one goal. Safety for his kind. And he rarely thinks about anything else. He is a leader in a soldiers uniform, a wolf dressed in wool. There is no time to be considering frivolities such as friendships or romance when he is trying to juggle his outward persona and the missile he is inside. He is blunt. He doesn't see the point in sugarcoating things, especially when they're obvious. That being said, he can be a nifty little manipulator when he needs to be. Despite being an authoritative leader and having a clear goal, he can get lost in his hate too often than he'd like to admit. After all, hate is easy, far easier than love. With hate, the bitterness comes prepackaged. There's nothing to lose. So he will not stop until the humans have risen and shown the fae they fucked with the wrong people.
||Background||
Unlike most humans in the cruel world of the fae, Knox actually had a fairly decent childhood. Both parents were alive, and both loved him more than the earth itself. Their world was small- just a simple cottage on the edge of their master's grounds- but it was enough to keep the harsh chill of the wind from freezing them to the bone, and his stomach was always full enough to stave off the echoing growls he heard from other children's stomach. His father was a blade crafter, someone who made the swords and armour for the high fae, and Knox was helping in the forge from 6 years old. Though, his position of comfort did not limit his understanding of the situation he was in. An inferior being to the strength and cruelty of the fae. Nothing. Not to them. Knox was 14 when he first found out that his parents were smuggling people out of the winter court. Their destination? He wasn't sure. Perhaps dawn, where the humans were treated far better than anywhere else. One day, he asked his father why they helped. After all, they were safe even when others were not. Why risk it for strangers? And his father told him that it didn't matter if they were safe or not when others weren't. It was their duty as humans to help others out, for the good of all mankind. And that was a mindset Knox carried with him right up until the night his father was executed for treason. He and his mother escaped with just a whipping, and a permanent brand carved into their wrist: T. Traitor. A warning to all fae that he was trouble, and a threat to all humans at the price of disobeying. That being said, now Knox continues his quiet rebellion with two goals in mind: help others, and get revenge.
