after an unsuccessful attempt of getting help from his girlfriend's best friend, taehyun put his phone down with a sigh. he was completely out of it. valentine's day was rapidly approaching and he had absolutely no idea what to do.

he wanted to do something fun with her, not something too simple and not something too grand. but for the life of him, he couldn't create a single idea. he thought of going to the amusement park but he knew she would be too scared to go on any of the rides.

instead of thinking about what to do, he decided to make his way to a local drug store. there he bought a cheesy but romantic card he knew she'd love, a cute teddy bear, and a box of heart-shaped chocolates. it was everything she'd seen in the movies.

movies. it suddenly came to him. she was dying to see the new avatar, what better time than now? excited by his idea, he suddenly quicker his pace. he ran out of the store to the dorm, hoping tickets hadn't sold out.

he was genuinely surprised when there were still a few good seats left that weren't expensive. he bought them and let out a sigh of relief he didn't even know he was holding in. now all he could do was wait.

valentine's day came faster than taehyun could ever expect. he woke up on the warm february day as if it was normal, but it suddenly hit him. he made sure the girl beside him was still asleep and crept out of bed.

he let out a relieved breath once he made it to the kitchen, trying to be as quiet as possible while making breakfast. he wanted to surprise her with breakfast in bed but his dreams were quickly ruined.

he felt her arms wrap around his waist, "good morning," she mumbled into his back. he smiled unconsciously, continuing to make breakfast. "morning. you sleep well?" her words were muffled as she nuzzled further into him, "mhm."

a silence fell upon the two as he kept trying to cook, her tight embrace making it more difficult. not that he minded, he would rather be held than not. though he swore he would never say that aloud.

he finally completed the task and brought the small meal to the table. she moved her seat next to him instead of across, leaning her head on his shoulder. he giggled softly, "what's gotten into you today?"
she shrugged with a small smile, "i dunno, just feel like being clingy today."

their meal continued with minimal conversation, "ah, i forgot. i got you something, one second," she got up and her chair pushed back with a quiet squeak. she ran to the bathroom and came back with what looked like a frame.

"i didn't know what to get you so i asked yeojin and this is what she recommended," she began to explain. "it's a custom star map," she flipped the picture forward, so he could see what it was. "it's what the sky looked like the day you asked me out."

she handed the map to the boy, "i hope you like it. happy valentines." he set it down with care and opened his arms for a hug. "thank you so much, baby," he whispered into her hair. she only hummed in response.

as they finally finished their food, taehyun began to wash the dishes. "go and get ready, we have a long day ahead of us," he told her, calling over his shoulder.

within minutes she was back downstairs, waiting for her beloved boyfriend to join her as she realized he was no longer in the kitchen. despite just having breakfast, she took a cookie from the pantry and munched on it quietly.

she heard his footsteps and made her way towards the foyer where she found him putting his shoes on. he didn't say a word, jutting his hand out for her to hold. she did so and let him lead her out of the house.

"where are we going?" she finally asked after a few minutes of walking. "the movies, i know you've always wanted to see avatar." he could see the stars in her eyes as she smiled widely, "are you serious?!" he nodded and she giggled happily, "thank you so much!"

they finally made it to the theater, bought popcorn, which was definitely way overpriced, and made their way to their seats. sakura got herself comfortable, setting her purse down and turning off her phone.

she looked at taehyun just to find him already staring at her. she blushed slightly, "what?" he smiled, "nothing. you're just cute." she looked to the side, "shut up."

their banter was cut off by the movie premiers starting. she forced herself not to eat the entirety of the popcorn and wait until the movie actually started. when it finally did, she was fully invested.

the three and a half hours went by insanely quickly. her legs felt numb after sitting for so long, but she immediately got to rambling about the movie to her boyfriend. he only listened with a bright smile.

the day went on beautifully, from lunch at a nice diner to going to a museum, everything was perfect. she couldn't help but feel butterflies in her stomach at the amount of effort her boyfriend out into the day.

"hey, pretty boy," she called, and he made his way over to her. "i love you. so much." he kissed her forehead, "and i somehow love you even more."
